I made an appointment with Erin at Mind Body Solutions for my first Reiki session while on vacation in Oceanside. First impressions... Erin's studio is beautiful. You feel the good vibes the moment you walk in the door and it's clear she's deeply invested in her practice by the tools that are beautifully displayed. Erin is warm and welcoming the moment you meet her. Although this was my first Reiki session and I was not sure what to expect, I felt completely comfortable with her, and even more so as she began an easy conversation with me that built rapport before we started the session. Erin artfully weaved into the conversation what I could expect during the session, and it felt more conversational than informational, and by the end of it, I felt I could trust her to let the session just flow without my guard being up. I was very relaxed and comfortable and ready to dive deep. Erin led me through a beautiful guided meditation unlike anything I've ever experienced. It was so loving and safe and slow and I was able to shut off my thinking brain and let go. Erin incorporated crystals, crystal singing bowls, oils and I don't really know what else into my session, but the experience was profoundly healing. I've never been able to successfully get through an inner child healing experience, but I absolutely did with Erin and it was incredibly beautiful, healing, and inspiring. Just as she eased me into that state, Erin eased me out slowly and without rushing me. As she began to share some of her insight from the session and I shared my experience, I was blown away by the intimacy of her intuition. While I struggled mightily in my first class, I walked out of class feeling like a new man and with an incredible sense of accomplishment. This is a product of epic staff led by Tracey and Margaret (epic mom daughter duo) and generally rad and respectful yogis that flock to this location. I came here for a hot yoga class on xmas day and it was a good studio and I'd consider coming back…read more This was one of the few studios closeby that had any xmas classes so I joined for a 10am xmas class. Encinitas is really nice so they have a great location! Parking available on the street, womens locker area also has shower and bathroom. The hot yoga class was solid however just way too hot for me as it was at probably 105F and with the humidity, was just too much for me. I used to practice this style a lot when I was in my 20s and 30s but lately I just dont enjoy how hot it gets, and because I sweat profusely, the shift in fluid loss and electrolytes is just too much for me. I usually have a headache after classes like these and thats what happened. I think I could have preemptively assumed this would happen and down a electrolyte pack (which I had on hand) but of course suffer fools gladly haha. Instruction was good and I deeply appreciated being able to practice on xmas! Thank you Yoga Tropics for being open on xmas. Id consider coming back to a less hot class. They also have a great intro offer which is $30 for 10 classes in 1 week, so you really can't beat that! Definitely give this place a try if you enjoy Bikram level hot!

As soon as I walked inside of the facility, the energy level difference from the outside was very apparent. There is so much care, precision, and love dedicated to the space, making sure to keep the vibration as high as possible. Very accepting and understanding energy - which was super intimidating at first! I was able to center my Earth Star with Lori's help and it was really disorienting at first, but I knew it's what my soul really needed as I've been "out of body" for most of my life. As this is my first experience with reiki, she helped me clean out negative energies and I felt so much lighter and peaceful. She helped me understand myself and my body more and I couldn't be more grateful :)

I took a reiki 1 certification course and on the second day, she got weird. To me she felt a little paranoid of "bad energy" and even stopped the class to provide my sister and I a "reiki cleanse" as in her own word she needed "to detach" from the energy. I didnt think much of it at first and respected her judgement since I thought, "she must know what she's talking about" but after reflecting more on it and allowing time and my own search, I see it as unprofessional and almost borderline paranoid. Her anxiety got projected onto mine. Even my sister felt the same. The reason I went along with it was because I didn't know what to expect, I've never had an experience like that one as I was hoping to seek a more holistic humanistic one. Its been a year so maybe she's worked through that fear of her, who knows. But this was my experience when attending a year ago. Lots of "do and don't". Weird.

The great instructors tell you exactly how to hold your body position to avoid injury and exactly which muscles should be firing. It is my morning-sore-bone-elixir. And if you are lucky enough to take class with Annie, you will definitely be entertained and have all the stress fly away as you bring the corners of your mouth up towards your eyeballs.
