Where to begin?! My eyebrows are still growing back, and I'm letting them, because they need to recoup after my visit to Sassy. One of my eyebrows has no arch after a waxing here, while the other does. Also, my brows grew back faster than any other waxing I've ever had. I suspect the wax wasn't hot enough. Okay... I am not sure why Sassy Nails has only 3.2 Stars... I brought my 79 year old mother along with me today to have a basic Pedicure and I had a pedicure/manicure. Sassy Nails was very clean and relaxing. I let the ladies know that my mom was very sensitive to touch and asked if they could be gentle. They were. Most of the customers men & women were coming in for waxing. Some couples just pedicures. My mom was so happy with how gentle they were with her feet, that she wants to come back with me next week to have a manicure while I try the waxing salon. I live in the OC and I am at her house 2 to 3 days a week. This Nail Salon is far better from any of the salons in the OC. After encountering a very rude person on the phone a few months ago, I was desperate to get my nails done. I saw they were under new management and decided to give it a go. So glad I did!!! Ed answered the phone and was super nice. When I arrived, I was assigned to Donna. What a great person and just as great at nails. I changed what I wanted at the last minute and she was super flexible and didn't make me feel bad about it. I was so impressed, I even booked my next appointment with Donna. We showed up for our appointment on time only to find out it was cancelled. The new manager said it was because my mother didn't confirm it via text or phone call today. I tried to explain that my mother was older (she was the one who made the appt) and often doesn't hear her phone or know where to look for text messages. He basically didn't care and kept saying there were too many people who were no shows. This is not a medical office if you can't keep an appt I will go elsewhere, I don't need to be bothered with extra texts and there are many older people who aren't text savvy or have hearing issues. A courtesy reminder is one thing requiring a confirmation is silly, we made an appt. Sorry to see the old management go. read more

Not super pleased. I got a full set manicure with gel polish on top. The lady who did my manicure was pretty rough, she kept grabbing me hard and dragging my hands toward her. I've gotten my nails done at many places and this is the roughest treatment I've ever had. I'm no drama queen and I'm not the type who expects my nail tech to be rainbows and sunshine, so it wouldn't have been a big deal had my nails came out great, but they were decent at best. The gel polish is lumpy and uneven, as is the shape of the nails. She didn't push back my cuticles either-- it's been just a few days and the job already looks old. They didn't leave my nails long under the light either, maybe for a minute. Most places I've been to I've had to keep my polish under the light for quite a while at the end of the manicure to solidify the gel. I imagine the job won't last long :/ I wouldn't recommend this place for a manicure, or at least not one from the nail tech I had. However my pedicure was fantastic! It was with a different woman and she was amazing. She did a great job and was very friendly. Polish was very even and the massage was amazing. I wish I remembered her name, she was a thin older woman with curled hair. I would go back just for her, but I can't really justify just going for a pedi and getting my nails done somewhere else. This is the first time I have ever gone to Sassy Nails. I am in town visiting from the heart of Orange County, so I might be a little spoiled with the nail salons I'm used to.. But when the prices are practically the same I don't think there is any excuse for the unsatisfactory job I received. My natural nails are long and thick, and I've recently been getting them almond shaped. I have been getting gels on and off for almost four years now. And have easily been to over 20 different nail salons. That being said... Sassy Nails is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I had gels on when I came into the salon.. instead of soaking them off (which they should) they used the dremel.. the spinny nail file thing. I have never in my life seen anyone do this to remove gel.. and I instantly was put off. My thick beautiful nails were being mutilated and thinned down to nothing. After getting all of the gel off.. my nails were already breaking apart at the tips.. good bye long nails.. So my long thick nails are now whittled down to shorter (still long by anyones definition) thinner versions.. When she started to file my nails she filed them EVEN SHORTER, and rounding them out.. she said shorter and rounder to stop them from breaking.. I wonder why she's worried about that?! I stopped her and had to tell her I wanted to keep my almond shape.. why didn't she ask me to begin with? I've never had a nail lady take it upon herself to choose my nail shape.. I get it that almond nails aren't as popular.. but isn't it my choice? PRO: The almond shape I got, is easily the best shape I've ever gotten from anywhere. The shape is absolutely perfect.. A few are a little crooked.. but I've learned to expect a few crooked ones here and there (I assume it's because their view of our nail is different than what we see.. and it's probably hard for them to figure out how to make them perfectly straight since they're always moving our fingers side to side) The end result is satisfactory. I chose a basic red, the polish is a little uneven in a few places (which is fine), but overall decent job. I just wanted to warn future customers of theirs about how butchered my natural nails are underneath.. I would not be surprised one bit if I break a nail within the next 24 hours. read more

When the appointment was made, we asked if three people could get our nails done at the same time. They said yes. We said "Will there be enough people working to do that?" They said yes. We got there and two people were working. Both were busy. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our appointment time so we waited, hoping another person would come in. Someone did. Ahh... relief, right? NO! The manicurist who came in started on the first person he saw without asking about appointments and the other two said nothing and kept on as if nothing was wrong. Bad business practice and time management skills aside, my manicure was sloppy as all hell and my pedicure was even worse. I went home and re-did my pedi immediately. He didn't even do my heels. This is the DESERT for Christ's sake! What kind of pedicurist doesn't even ASK if you want your heels done? Crappy. This place was also busted recently by State Board for giving someone an infection. 7-2-11 I use to go here and it was pretty good. I went this past week and got a pedicure. It was terrible!! The whole process was 15 mins long and no other customers waiting so it wasn't like they were rushed. I got a French manicure, the white was smeared into the clear areas. I also noticed that when the one customer that was in there left after her pedicure no one went and cleaned the bowl. Maybe it got cleaned after I left, I don't know. The short story - I had to take all the nail polish off my hands and feet and re-do them when I got home. The longer story: I went in today with my mother and there were only 2 people working at the time. They had a fairly steady stream of people coming in but the wait would have been 15 min max for people without appointments. Well, they were so worried about keeping the people waiting happy, that they did an absolutely terrible job. 1. I had red nail polish on my toes when I went in. I asked for a french tip pedicure. When I left, I had a huge red line on my big toe on the right foot because she did a a half cocked job removing the polish and when she finished, all the white tips were actually crooked. 2. My manicure lasted maybe 5 minutes. I haven't had one in about 6 months so I had plenty of skin that needed to be trimmed off. She didn't push my cuticles back and trim the skin around the nails, nor did she file/shape my nails. 3. I don't have a problem with rough skin on my heels or anything; I'm blessed with soft feet. However, whatever she scrubbed my feet with actually scratched up my skin so I left with rough feet. O.o 4. My mom's pedicure came out okay but her nails were all sharp because of the rushed, and terrible, filing job. Her hands looked better before we went in. I am sooo not picky about nail places because I usually at least look better coming out than I did going in. The reason I'm writing a review on this place is because the opposite was true. In total, it cost us $80 for that utter crap. The ONLY positive thing about this place? They're the only place in Yucca Valley that's open on Sundays. read more

I don't usually write bad reviews but here we go. I went here because my friend recommended it. The manicurist was so rough and unapologetic about it. He did everything what seemed backwards. I asked for almond shaped nails and he did stiletto, even after I asked multiple times. Again he was so so so rough! Then when I got my pedicure he didn't soak my feet before clipping my nails or putting the callus remover on. Then used a pumice stone on my feet not the metal callus remover, gross and full of bacteria. When I asked why he said he didn't know how to use the other tool. Yet he said he has been doing it for 20 years. I got a hot stone massage...the stones were so hot he burned my skin on both legs. I even told him they were way too hot. On top of all of this I got an infection on my toe! I will never go back and have informed all of my friends not to go! Please people save your time and spend your money elsewhere! read more

I don't get to get my nails done often but when I get the free time I make sure to go here. They always do a great job and the prices are fair. Plus the massage chairs are always awesome and working! Made a last-minute appointment over the phone for a Friday. Surprisingly they had availability for myself and friend. To make a long story short, I was very please with my pedicure but not my nails. Richard the owner said I could come back on Tuesday to fix my nails. He kept his word and fixed my nails. Second time around I was totally pleased. The only reason why I'm giving four stars is because I had to drive back down to the shop. I will definitely come back despite my first visit because of the.. I really like this place. It is clean, the staff is very efficient, and I am always pleased with both my manicures and pedicures.

I've been going to Sassy Nails for about three months now, and really like it. I never feel like they stick me with additional services. As with many nail salons some of the employees do not speak very good English. They have a menu to choose from, and you can point. This helps with communication. Sometimes they do make mistakes with which pedicure I ordered, but it is as simple as speaking up and letting them know clearly what I want. I have had acrylic nails done there and they did not lift at all. I am very picky and like them to be thin and natural looking. I simply ask them to fix whatever I think might be askew and they always comply without complaint. But again I am very specific. For example if during a fill I see a spot that had lifted a bit; I say something. I say, "can you please fix that spot so that there isn't a bubble later?". Often, I bring the kids with me and they are always nice to them. It means a lot to me because I love getting my nails done, but don't always have child care. Finally, last week I got tired of my acrylics, and popped them off at home. My nails were a mess (anyone who has had fake nails knows this always happens). I went in and asked what could be done. I was told that a gel manicure would be good for me. I couldn't be happier with the results! They stopped breaking and 8 days later they are still shiny, chip free, and perfect! I went here to get a pedicure a few weeks ago. The lady that did my pedicure was very rough and cut my toe and it was bleeding. She kept putting some type of liquid on it to stop the bleeding (I'm assuming) that stung and burned every time she did it. She made no apologies and when she was done, she threw on some disposable sandals and rushed me out the door. The polish and shape of my nails was alright but like I said, she was very rough and very disrespectful. All the other times I've gone here have been loads better. I found Sassy Nails by going over to business before it was open on a Sunday morning just to see if they did open on Sundays. The owner showed up and took me in right then. I get to set early appointments when I need them. So many things to choose from and menu is well written. The service was and still is GREAT. Everyone is very helpful and speaks good English and also understands it well too. I have been telling all my friends and family. So clean first thing in the morning to closing time in the evening, and new chairs and tables make it all so comfortable. read more

I recently moved here from Kansas City, MO and have been to Sassy Nails several times. I have also tried a few shops in the valley and Sassy Nails ranks among the top. Coming from a major city with numerous upscale boutiques, I must say again Sassy Nails is up there with the best from pricing, services offered, cleanliness and customer care. From reading some of the negative/low rated reviews, I'd say you "Walmart girls" need to stick to Walmart and the discounted service it provides. Based on your grammar, and unprofessional opinion, you certainly don't know the difference from discount customer service and upscale customer service. As a new resident to Yucca Valley, I have been pleasantly pleased with the pride and customer service the local merchants provide. I'm not saying that every business is free from fault. When your disappointment is brought to the owners attention they will try their best to make it right with YOU especially if YOU are polite and respectful. We made an appointment days in advance. When we arrived they had us sit and wait. They did not even allow us to sit in the pedicure chairs. We sat for 20 minutes and then walked out. Why make an appointment when they disregard them. UGH!!! Will not be returning ever again. read more

I had a gel manicure here which cost me £25. They only had about 15 colours to choose from, worst selection I've seen. They weren't friendly or welcoming and removed my normal nail polish with an electric filing tool, rather than just nail polish remover. My nails are thin and weak as a result. My cuticles were flooded and the whole process was a rush. Would not go back or recommend. read more
