It's hard to find a good nail spot especially when you're new in the area. Sassy Nails seemed to have more good reviews than bad and seemed to have a lot of returning clients, so I decided to give them a try. The first time was probably the "best" experience I had there. My appointment time was actually respected and my nails turned out decently for the price. Every other appointment I went to after was a shit show. There's always something wrong with them. Whether it's making you wait 15-30 minutes AFTER your supposed appointment time, employee drama (we can all tell, the way you act and speak to one another it's obvious there's tension and it's uncomfortable), and lack of professionalism, they have found a way to fuck up and I stupidly kept giving them chances. From mispronouncing my name and laughing about it when I corrected her--while with a client (this was the owner btw she really likes to let everyone know that), my nails breaking constantly, to making me feel weird because I didn't want one of her nasty donuts and poking fun at me for not eating it as if we were a couple of chums laughing it up no girl, leave me alone and let me get my nails done tf. I got some coupon from them for some Christmas promotion and got a nice chunk off, the only reason I returned one last time. A coworker recommended Queen Nail Salon and I've been going there since. I was told twice to text instead of call. I verified the number, then texted. I never received a response. Unprofessional and disrespectful. My first visit, the technician was trying to do two manicures at once. It was not a great experience, but thought maybe they were just short handed... My second visit, I went in with my nails clipped and filed. I was told my color choice was unavailable, the alternative was not ideal. The technician left me with bleeding cuticles and it took her seven minutes per hand to paint my nails. I will not be returning. read more

The old man did my toes and the young man did my hands. The old man was so busy talking with the young man and ignoring me every time I said "ouch that hurts" that he made my entire toe bleed. Then instead of apologizing or even trying to help me to feel better he started spraying my raw and bleeding toe with acetone, making it hurt and burn 10'times worse. Then, the young man did my cat eye nails completely wrong, and all of my fingers are uneven. Then!! They overcharged me and when i asked for an explanation i was completely ignored. I got a regular pedicure ($25) that turned out to be a nightmare (it's 4 days later and my toe still hurts!!!) they charged me $45 for the regular pedicure eventhough it clearly states $25. Overall I spent $120 for the worst nail experience of my life. I am 100% certain that both men are NOT licensed and i will be reporting Sassy Nails for what they've done to me. I am SO upset!!!!! Disgusting. Went in for a walk in pedicure. The man who did the service did not wear gloves and he has a long thumb nail the he uses like a tool while doing the pedicure. His nail was used to clean up lines in the pedicure digging into my skin, nail and cuticle. The finished nails wouldn't have even been worth the cost of the sanitized tools were used as intended. I went to Sassy's Nails for a pick me up, I was extremely disappointed. However I understand they recently moved buildings so their product were still in boxes and it was a dark suite they were doing nails off of sunlight. Moving onto the nails, I got a ombré white and pink set shaped coffin it was fine until the women brushed over my nails with acetone and was peeling the actual nail and surrounding area for a week or so after. However what really killed it was the price, maybe I'm over reacting but I have NEVER paid for a set over 50 dollars this set costed 90 dollars. Didn't get my toes done just my nails nothing more. I walked in to an empty salon. No customers or workers for a minute or so. Suddenly five staff emerge from the back. One ordered me to sit, another said no go pick a color, and then another said just go sit and pick it later. Very awkward and rushed. Two staff left at that point. I told them I wanted to keep my nails as long as possible (I had acrylics to be removed on a couple but I showed her that most were my natural nails, almond shaped) and the first thing she did? Cut my nails horizontally right across the tip. Absolutely ruined the length and shape. I got a callus removal for my pedi but the tools were soooo dull, it was hardly effective. She soaked my nails in acetone during the whole pedicure, my fingertips were burning by the time she finally took it off. She had asked another staff member to do my nails but he brushed her off. Now I know they need other staff available for walkins but the other two staff members were just sitting there. Eventually a couple came in and both wanted a mani/pedi. The girl was helped, but her man waited over 30 min before the other staff offered to help him (this was only after i heard staff call someone who had an appointment to ask them to come in sooner and they declined). Really rude and stupid to ignore customers in your EMPTY salon who are trying to pay you for a service. I asked to look at the gel colors again since I was rushed, she handed me one section but I had seen many more earlier. I said not these, grabbing a more subdued grey toned hue on another gel selection. But what about these? She said, grabbing the first selection. Not those, I repeated again. She must have been trying to get me to choose those colors because the the colors I wanted, they didn't actually have? Regardless, the color she gave me was NOT the color I selected, and was instead the color I told her I didn't want 4 times. I wanted a grey toned light blue, and ended up with a bright ass robins egg blue. At the end of November I wasn't sure at first since the color needed two coats until i was sure it WAS NOT my color, and at that point I was exhausted with being ignored & dismissed. I've had a rough go at finding a decent nail salon here in the Hi-Des. Nearly every location lacks in one form or another. But, this is the best so far that I've found. I stopped by Sassy nails a few weeks ago on a Sunday, my nails were in need of a manicure! I hadn't been there for at least a couple of years after the manager then became rude and quite awful to customers, but this was the only place that seemed open and my hubby was with me for moral support. To my surprise, they are only open for appointments on Sunday and that person didn't show so they took me. Well, to my delight, the place is under new management and the 2 people in there were wonderful, absolutely wonderful!! Jennifer did a perfect job on my nails, and I don't blurt that out easily. If you've hesitated to go back to Sassy Nails because of the old manager being mean.....things have changed! I've been living here for a 3.5 years and my girl friend and I have tried this place twice. The most recent was in March 2022. We also came here before the pandemic like 2019. Both of our experiences were low to average. This review is based on getting FAKE acrylic gel nails. And pedicure with gel polish. My girlfriend gets her natural nails mani-pedi with GEL. My acyrilic gel nails started falling off in less than a week. They use a very cheap fake nail that are thick. They don't have clear crystal nails which I prefer. They leave a lot of space/air in between the nail bed and the fake nail so when they fall off, which really shouldn't happen, for a month or longer, your natural nails are weak, damaged by moisture and dirt and can get bacteria in the worst case. They are really not doing the extra attention when you ask for gel full set, to set each nail in between powder passes, in the UV light to harden. Also the shaping was off. I just can't bring myself back to Sassy knowing both times my nails didn't last longer than a week. My girlfriend also recalled her gel nail polish pealed off in 3 days! The second visit her manicurist made her cuticle beds bleed and two of her nails her polish came off practically the same day! So something is off with the gel process. It's either the products being used or the technician not knowing the process or a combination. Maybe getting a regular mani-pedi with regular nail polish is better here? But I've been doing full set for over 20 years and gel nails for at least 10. I've also tried shellac/powder, silk wraps etc which isn't offered here and not necessarily better than acrylic or gel. When I've gone to a place that really understands this technique my nails will grow out and I can either fill them or start over but we are talking 3-4 weeks. I've gotten a month and a half or more if I'm careful. Currently I'm wearing a full set that I got done in LA over a month and a half ago and last night a nail fell off after swimming, cleaning dishes and the home and not using gloves. But it's time anyways to get my nails done again and I dread it. I'm on Yelp looking for a place here in the desert now. What I've done in the past is get my nails done in Palm Springs, OC, LA, SD, Michigan, Florida, Maine etc because if I can get my nails done elsewhere it's always been better. But really this shouldn't be the case. If a business offers this service it's not brain surgery and JT/high desert is growing, there's weddings and tourists so we locals should also up our game. Just saying... That's what got me writing this review. And taking off two stars. I think I'm being generous. Okay they are very very nice. Reasonably priced. Reasonably clean. GOOD PEOPLE. So we both have had bad luck... OR...???!! So even though I go next door to new pharmacy all the time I won't be coming back unless someone can convince me otherwise and I'm searching up here for a great nail salon. read more

Jennifer at Sassy nails literally saved my nails. I got my nails done at Modern Nails and they did a terrible job. Lumpy and uneven and terrible. I went to Sassy Nails to get them fixed and Jennifer was wonderful!! She was able to reshape them and make them even. She fixed everything and honestly they turned out better than i could have hoped for. They are absolutely beautiful and I'm so happy with every part of them!! . I requested eyebrow wax, pedicure, and nails. The quality of service of Briana who did my eyebrow wax and pedicure was absolutely amazing! She took her time and was so gentle and nice. Judy did my nails and she went off my pic and did awesome as well. The only thing is all services are expensive so wish there would be a bit of more when getting nails done. Like back in the day no matter what you got acrylic or regular they would give a manicure first and care for cuticles and massage your hand. But overall friendly service and it was what I asked for. Can I first state this is the best place to get a pedicure in the high desert? By far. No nail fungus and the polish stays on for 3 weeks before chipping. Today I had a negative experience with a scheduled appointment (I have learned it is always better to schedule with them now). I had a woman with glasses I had not seen before. Not to be confused with the woman who handles all monetary transactions in the front of the store. She is kind and gracious. This new woman, whoever she was, was 7 minutes late to our appointment. Then she was rough with my feet and slapped them when they were not in the position she desired. She even had me hold up my feet in mid air more than once so she was accommodated with the angle. When filing down my feet she was too rough on an existing wound on my foot I forgot to inform her about. She just grimaced at me and told me it was dirty. Of course my feet are dirty, it is 100 degrees out. I am not wearing socks and shoes and live in the f***ing desert. Having soft skin and painted nails is for dates and pool parties, not for the day to day yard work and mothering I do most of the time. That is why I pay for a pedicure once every 6 weeks or so. She looked disgusted at my feet (they gave me a pedicure 4 weeks ago so it wasn't that bad). She slapped at my feet a few more times, and got up to leave at the end after relaying a soliloquy (in another language) to the main business person up front. That person never asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. That was a first in 4 years. And you know what? I didn't leave one. I will not sit for someone like that again. I went to Sassy Nails religiously for 4 years. I am done now. I can not recommend another place in this area at this time. read more
