So good I stuffed myself! My wife and I were out and about in Kansas and stopped here for lunch. We…read moreboth ordered General Tso's chicken with fried rice and egg roll, crab rangoon, and fried wontons. All these items are your standard fare at a Chinese restaurant. While it may be standard fare, the food had flavor and a wonderful taste! The chicken was not greasy, but evenly coated with the sauce and the smaller pieces mean they were slightly crunchy and perfect to mix with your rice. It also had a wonderful taste...sweet, sticky, with just the slightest hint of heat. The rice was spot on, cooked well, and the egg roll was fried and perfectly sized for a meal. Our side orders were delicious. I'm picky when it comes to crab rangoon and these were perfect! Not bland cream cheese fried in a shell (yuck) but they had a soft sweet creamy interior, perfectly fried to a crispy exterior. The fried wontons were also done perfectly and had flavor! That's the theme for this restaurant: flavor. So much Chinese food has no flavor or little of it. In addition, the interior is clean, bathrooms tidy and clean, and you can tell the owner(s) take pride in their restaurant. If you like Chinese food at good prices and with great flavor then check out Lucky Star. We'll be back when driving through.

Clean. That's always good for a restaurant!…read more I have eaten here a few times when it was new. I don't remember what I ordered. But I wasn't a fan of the food particularly. I think they were working out kinks in the food to begin with. No problem. But tonight I invited girlfriends to go eat there with me. I asked if they were up for maybe having the appetizer potato skins topped with the appetizer (fried) cheese curds. They said "sure." I was inspired by my Canadian roots - fries with brown gravy and cheese curds is called "Poutine" and is so good. So the restaurant accommodated us. It was delicious !!! So good! There is a jalapeño ranch sauce it was drenched in. Oh my gosh. The whole thing was delicious. Then, I decided to go with their NoWhere Burger which is the signature burger - a smash burger with fixin's on it. Cheddar and bacon and I think pickle? It was really good too! I got the burger with onion rings instead of fries. I tend to like those better and I am glad I got them this time! They were just right crunchy and flavorful in such an enjoyable way. I enjoyed all. And a glass of Chardonnay. The Chardonnay was good too! An enjoyable meal with enjoyable company. I like their custom Kansas map on the wall by the entrance too. That's cool. Thank you! I'll be back more often from here on out! One of my girlfriends got the same burger I did and with fries. She said she always gets the fries and likes them a lot. And my other girlfriend got the steak fingers? I forget what it's called. It's like chicken fingers but with steak. She said she always gets those when she eats there. she also got the fries and enjoyed those too. Next time, I will try their Mac n cheese with the BBQ! Oh. I also took home an apple crumble. I put local lavender ice cream on it that I got from Ellis Farm, with lavender from Belle Plaine Blooms. It was wonderfully delicious as a dessert at home.

The food is typical diner fare and the prices are what you would expect from a diner in this area. For us the litmus test for any breakfast menu is the biscuits and gravy, the biscuit was huge and homemade, very tasty. The nice lady in the back was decorating homemade cupcakes and brought us two for free. They were great. The guy that cooked the food was incredibly friendly and they had no problem with us hanging out and talking. Good food and friendly service from people who seemed genuinely happy that we were there.
