Being retired and at the whims of the rollercoaster stock market, we had decided the best way to preserve our nest egg was to sell and move to a less expensive home, where we could pay cash, saving the monthly mortgage. In looking at and reworking our budget to go forward, they explained that we had overlooked what a great investment we were -- literally -- sitting in.
