Kendra Fisher helped us during the purchase of our home. It was our first time so we had a lot of questions, doubts, and concerns. Kendra patiently helped us navigate all of that so well. She explained in great detail whenever we had questions. And was just a great person to have during this experience; Fun, sociable, and energetic! She also was so responsive and on top of it. Responding to texts quickly and answering our calls and if she couldn't take our call, letting us know when she could chat. On the house that we ended up getting, the price dropped significantly and it was likely going to get a lot of attention due to that. We needed an offer out immediately and Kendra had it ready for us within an hour and sent out to the realtor. We submitted an offer under asking and got accepted and the negotiations didn't stop there. Even in this market she was able to get us credits and save us even more money. Purchasing a home is obviously one of the biggest financial decisions and having someone like Kendra in your corner who you can be so confident has your best interest is key. I moved into a rental Ryan from Torelli rented to me. Immediately after moving in we found out the smoke detectors were not functioning, I alerted Torelli and they did not fix it. Weeks later I needed to fix them myself. Then we found mold in the property, had to follow up weeks to get a response. We dealt with Nick as the property manager, his attitude is horrible. After we finally received a response he sent someone to clean the Sheetrock soaked in mold with a tub cleaner. The mold problem became worse as we looked into it more. I paid for a mold test and the outcome questions the habitability of the home. Nick told the repair person they wanted to hire that he would only hire them if they signed a confidentiality agreement to not tell us as tenants anything about their findings. The inspector felt horrible that Nick was doing this and called us to alert us of the problem. Nick should be fired, my family is in a rental with high mold scores and no results. We are hiring attorneys to deal with the issue. Don't deal with that company. If you are a homeowner don't use them for property management. If you are looking at selling a home or buying a home go with someone honest. Run from this company. read more

This is so interesting! You were so clueless about the transaction that you don't even know that I was the person putting the money for the transaction and not the flipper. You are telling me that I was bullying a person. Get your facts right. You don't know what you are talking about. The fact is that you should be on top of your clients advising them every step of way. If you really care, you would it support or inform about any weird situation. That demonstrated your careless attitude. In regards to the deposits, the rules establish very clearly that when you put a deposit with inspection contingencies then there should not be problem releasing that deposit if contingencies were not removed. I spoke to the seller personally and she felt that way because she was clueless too about the transaction. When she requested a meeting with all the realtors to clarify the situation you just decided not to show up for a meeting. She was willing to release the deposit. The fact is that when your client needed the support to get this done, you ghost out. Escrow, the judge in court that favor us to get the deposit back and California real estate laws are available for any facts information Valerie. Note: I'm happy that the seller ended selling her property for even a higher price that what we offered. How do I know that? Because I spoke to her after the mess and we kept a good relationship. Valerie and Darcy feel as if their your best friends and end up being the worst people you've met in your life due to greed, lies, and scams. Put our house on the market at $995k knowing the comps were $870k however, convinced us the other houses were flips and cheaply done. NOT THE CASE.... Greedy, lying, and dishonest people just to get a listing ..... THEY KNEW OUR HOUSE WOULDN'T APPRAISE AT THAT PRICE !!!! They know how to play the game. Really long story short.... Torelli Realty listed the house I bought. When I viewed the house, the previous owners were still living there. They listed it as having no pets ever, yet when we closed on the house there was years and years of cat hair in the carpet. The carpet guy said he would have to come back twice to get most of it. Aside from that, the previous owners left the garage full of garbage. Cardboard, tile, paint, particle board, pottery, all things that were trash and not what was around the house when we walked through. Torelli Realty said they would have a dumpster dropped off free of charge, but they never delivered. The agent, Greg, stopped answering his phone and email. I ended up needing to hire a service to get rid of all the stuff, costing me $500. I emailed Greg, had my agent email Greg, and he actually replied once that he would reimburse, but never did. Extremely distrustful and rude to be like that, they're in it for the money and they don't care about the customer. Don't be fooled by their canned/lame headshot photos and tag lines! read more

We really wanted to stay in the Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne area where we grew up and where most my clients were. Kate Markert came highly referred to us and told us exactly how she can help us and put no pressure on us hiring her. Kate starting sending us listings in the area we desired. Many of them she would send, she would also take the time and in the email explain why she thought this would be a good house for us, the pros, the cons and what we could do to the house in order for it to fit our need. She seem to have done a lot of research on many of the listings she had sent our way and gave us some detailed information about many of them. This had been going on for months, yet we really never officially hired her. She just starting working and it was really obvious she wanted to help us find that first home. The day come when we finally got pre approved and it was enough to stay in our desired area. However we were not in a huge rush to find the home. We were about to get married the following month, planning our own destination wedding was stressful enough on top running a business. We thought it couldn't hurt to look at a few open houses anyhow, but definitely wasn't trying to buy at this time. Until we walked into this house Kate sent us a beautiful, perfect home on a culdesac w/ a pool, RV parking, solar, and everything we were looking for in a first home. Me and my fiancé both knew this was the house, we called Kate and asked her opinion as well as many other questions. Mind you this is late on a Sunday at the end of A long weekend of OPEN HOUSE. We were told 70-80 people came through and many were interested and the house would sell fast. We decided to put an offer on the house. We would be foolish not to. This is where Kate really excelled: She immediately on a Sunday evening got to work. She contacted all involved parties and started preparing an offer letter as well as assisting us in a personal letter that we would write to the sellers. She got busy and stood up late Sunday night and by early Monday morning the offer letter was already prepared. She suggested to us exactly how much to offer and let us every step of the way because we were new to this and didn't really know exactly what we were doing. She seem to know the right words to use with the selling agents and how to not be too pushy yet have an aggressive offer. On Tuesday our offer was accepted. But we were limited on time because we're leaving in just a few weeks to go out of state to get married for at least a week. Followed by a 10 day honeymoon out of the country. So this whole transaction was time sensitive and all the proper things needed to take place very quickly and we couldn't make too much mistakes, this way we would be in the area able to sign the important documents. One of the best decisions we made was allowing Kate to work hard for us. Her experience knowledge in knowing exactly what to put on these applications forms etc. was a huge part of this working out seamless. There was a few things that came through that appeared to be like roadblocks and Kate navigated us right past all that and once again knew exactly what to do. She promptly answered every call, text, email. every time there was a doc you sign coming through she would text both of us and or call to let us know it was coming in to make sure we got it signed promptly to keep this process moving along. We had all the right things turned in just before we left to get married. Kate kept on top of things as we were gone. She was always in touch with the lender's, the escrow office, and the selling agents to make sure communication was on point. When we got back from getting married the final loan docs were ready and we signed them just before our honeymoon. At this point I honestly can say I was able to fully enjoy my honeymoon and just trust the process and all parties involved and especially that Kate would have our best interest and we had nothing to be nervous about. So we enjoyed our honeymoon. She did check in a few times. The day we got home from our honeymoon Kate made sure that the keys were in the lock box ready for our arrival. I do lots of Yelp reviews and have a lot of different interactions with multiple vendors as a business owner myself. I can honestly say I did not see that coming with Kate. She was absolutely amazing and went Above and Beyond. I was very impressed. My wife thought we should use her and I'm so glad I listened to her. Good Job Kate Markert and thanks Torelli Realty. Agents Ryan Knapp failed to conduct a reasonable investigation of the toilet plumbing of the property I bought, knowing that it was "running" and failed to disclose the leaking from that toilet had encroached past the tile and had severely damages the wood substrate below. Valerie was the listing agent for our home in Mesa Verde. The team was very good helping us get ready to sell and the limited repairs we needed. They dropped off boxes, hired a painter and helped box some items. Like all homes, it needed some touch up paint, she not only sent a painter but Valerie picked up the custom paint for me. We sold in 3 days with multiple offers. Her team sent a handyman for minor repairs and a plumber, scheduled the tent etc. I think we got a great price! We were in escrow on a house with a different agent in LA. We were struggling with the seller, she is much more experienced than the other agent, and made calls where appropriate. We ultimately exited that deal due to non-performance. Valerie then represented us as buyers for a home in LA. She was on vacation when we saw it online. She was available any time we needed her, gave us some great advice, had a full team help us and we love our new home. We highly recommend Valerie and her agents. read more

Valerie was initially very interested to get the listing agreement signed. The agents handling the sale - Alan and Heather - initially seemed energetic and competent. To my disappointment they chronically did not live up to many of their guarantees, promises, assurances, or duties. *Other buyers/sellers should know this before they select an agent.* To be fair, they were skilled in helping to initially stage the property for showings/open house events and did help obtain a reasonable sale price from a buyer who came to an open house with their own agent. These positives, of course, don't excuse or diminish the unnecessary stress and frustration caused. These are failures experienced and suggestions for improvement: 1. Communication - calling/texting before unannounced visits, ensuring times and dates quoted are correct, refraining from flippant or rash remarks/judgements, especially when lacking subject knowledge or qualifications ie construction/maintenance/etc, giving updates or forwarding information in a timely manner w/the understanding of the property owner's responsibility and position 2. Follow-through - doing what you say you will do in the same manner/time initially mentioned/assured 3. Empathy/consideration - working to comprehend the buyer or seller's position, duties, schedule, workload, timeline, etc and acting accordingly (in communication and follow-through, etc) with their interests foremost, not merely own agenda or convenience 4. Planning - laying out a plot and timeline for accomplishing each task/agenda with the client's interest in full consideration and being aware/respectful of changes to that plan and the communication, follow-through, and empathy required -- then communicating/sharing that timeline with the buyer/seller in writing 5. Client profile - recognizing, acknowledging, noting, and creating - then refreshing memory of client's desires, requests, personality, workload, position, etc in order to keep in syncronization and context when talking and working with them At the close of escrow I was pressured to move out earlier than the contract agreement because of mistakes the agents (buyer or seller or both) made in order to accomodate the other party. These frustrations and concerns were voiced and expressed all along the process, and yet a month after the sale was complete a mass advertisement mailing was sent out stating the transaction occurred with no stress to the seller. That complete falsehood and misrepresentation could not go unchallenged and this review is written since many others in the neighborhood shared similar stories or issues with agents who have worked or are working for Torelli Realty. Unfortunately, their motto of 'being the change' is mere virtue signaling and is more aptly demonstrated as 'feigning the change.' read more

Their approach in dealing with problems is to ignore them. The agent they set us up with was not personable and difficult to work with; in fact, we did most of the legwork - she only submitted the offers and handled the paperwork. I've never given a 1 point rating before, but feel it is warranted in this case. Our first contact was positive and we felt we had made a good choice for our realtor. This was our beloved family home and we spent a lot of time and effort/money to fix it up after renters had done major damage. 1. Valeri said she would take care of fixing up the paint dings & little details that the house needed before Open House. 2. Before the Open House even happened, she said she had a buyer from her own company. 3. She told us our used brick fireplace was an asset and that she would have the inside painted black to make it pop. Her painter painted the ENTIRE fireplace black! She never called to let us know. She was very careful not to communicate with us via email. When finally approached, she admitted to the mistake and actually told us that her potential buyer "liked" it. We had to approach her to ask for compensation as it was never offered. 4. They didn't fix any of the paint details or other touch ups that she said she would take care of for Open House, and then had the Open House on Super Bowl weekend. 5. After our Open House she said there was really only 1 other offer that didn't sound as attractive as her own buyer did. 6. We had lost faith & trust in them, which made it more of an effort on our part, to get workmen to fix things, as we didn't trust her people or their prices. 7. We noted that an acquaintance sold their smaller fixer upper "as is" house at the same time in a lesser neighborhood a few blocks over after getting 5 offers the first week and then a cash offer for close to what we sold our house for. -less than honest -doctored docs which we found out later when agent accidentally emailed us the original contract -contacted our lender without our knowledge to see if lender would give us more money -didn't respect our budget -didn't feel like they were always on our side -all decisions came to us at the last minute and needed to be decided within 24 hours or less -felt bullied at times -we not forth coming with the knowledge that there was active asbestos in the property (discovered after we hired our own inspector which was after we used their inspector) -we aggressive with us, but not with the seller when seller kept adding a total of 4 extensions to our escrow date -difficult time getting copies of paperwork. Firstly I was shocked at the low ratings given when I came to write my review. Had I read these reviews first, I would have been reluctant to use Torreli's services. Luckily that was not the case and I trusted my gut. I am believer in two sides to the story and think some of the reviews given are a little unfair. Like most, I am quick to write a bad review online, but a little less proactive when it comes to sharing a positive one. I live in Costa Mesa and have attended community events that Torelli have sponsored. I genuinely believe they care about the community outside of just being another real estate company, that is why they got my business initially. They were honest and upfront when it came to my expectations. I found Nick to be very helpful in answering my questions (and I always have a lot of them). Even though I was not working with him directly, he knew his stuff and didn't make me feel like I was being a pain or taking up his time. We bought our first home, a short sale, with Torelli Realty. We had been putting in literally dozens of offers on homes all over Costa Mesa for over a year, with no luck. A relative is a real estate agent and was submitting the offers for us. He did everything he was supposed to do, but the Costa Mesa housing market in our price range was overheated, with as many as 50 offers submitted on each home within the first two days. Our agent was just one more out of town agent, and our offers never got any traction. I met Valerie at a charity event, and told her my tale of woe. She offered to help, and I jumped at the opportunity. Within 1 day, we were touring homes and making offers. One of the first offers we put in was accepted - over many competing offers - because of Valerie's personal connections and perserverance. As mentioned above, it was a short sale which had many very serious problems that almost doomed the sale on several occasions and required imagination, perserverance and Valerie's personal charisma to solve. I can honestly and without reservation say that Valerie was the only reason the sale went through. The process was not pretty, but Valerie and her team (Nick and Holly)made it happen, and that is what counts. If you are looking to buy or sell a condo or house in Costa Mesa and want results - Torelli Realty is really the best option in my opinion. I listed my house in Mesa Verde with Torelli Realty and also bought our new home in Ladera Ranch with them as well. I chose Torelli because of a couple of different reasons. First, I saw them (their signs to be exact) everywhere. Lots of listings in Mesa Verde were with Torelli Realty and that made me think that they would be a pro who knows everything about my area. The other reason was how confident they were with my property. I did interview another agent before I contacted Torelli and this agent was busy looking for every problem he could find and all he was doing was trying to lower the asking price that we wanted. This was a big no no. Torelli was a total opposite. When I was talking to Torelli (first meeting with Valerie and Ryan Knapp) for the first time, they made it so easy I ended up putting our house for sale on that very night when we were originally planning on selling during summer time (that was like 4 months earlier than we planned..). They didn't want me to spend any more money on the property and also suggested me to increase the asking price than what I originally thought I wanted. Their suggestion was obviously based on how the market was moving and looking back, they were right on! I was talking to both Nick and Ryan after that and they were sooooooo helpful. They helped us get $50k more than the asking price and made things super easy for us. After we found the house we liked, the advice that they gave on what kind of offer we should submit was so helpful too.
