This Broker is DESPICABLE. They made buying my first home the worst experience of my life. They will step over you, strong arm you and conceal information to make sure they are compensated as well as possible. Not once during the process did my wife or I feel like Torelli had our best interest in hand. Choosing a location and home that suits your family comes with expected stresses but the added stress Torelli inflicted upon us was not ethical and quite frankly disgusting. I would absolutely not recommend buying or selling your home with these people. They placed the home back on the MLS after an offer had been accepted. The owner of the company, Valerie, cared nothing for us at all. Additionally, it is an odd set up where Valerie owns the company and the broker works for her so basically she is accountable to no one. After all of our complaints, she then allegedly lost the keys to the home (except for one so we had to pay to have all of the locks rekeyed). My opinion is that she only cared about the money and her appearance of selling a lot of homes is Costa Mesa. She never took into consideration that perhaps the frustration of the buyer and seller might be more important than her own ego ........ just my opinion and in my opinion go with another brokerage. read more

Torelli Realty managed a property that I was renting in Anaheim. I was there for 2+ years. Everything was going alright until I moved out, when I moved out they withheld a large portion of my security deposit for what they said were damages and repairs that were needed. When I moved in, I took tons of pictures and filled out the move-in inspection form. There were holes in walls (expected), large stains in the carpet, a damaged sink, rusted stove top, a broken garage disposal, among many other things. I took note of all these items and provided many pictures to show the condition of the apartment. Upon moving out, we performed a move-out inspection and the lady that came along mentioned that everything looked normal and nothing appeared to warrant any deductions and that I should received my security deposit within 21 days. On the 20th day I was notified that a secondary move-out inspection was done and that there were many items that needed repair along with replacing the sink???? I was NEVER notified of the secondary inspection or offered the opportunity to attend. Completely unjustified and unwarranted I called and asked them to reconsider and review the pictures that I had provided several times over and Bob refused to reconsider over the phone and before even reviewing the pictures. I don't know how everyone else is at Torelli but the people I dealt with, Bob mainly, is not a reasonable and fair person. I would caution anyone thinking of dealing with them. They had my money and thought that they could deduct items as they see fit even after performing a move-out inspection where nothing was noted for repair. Really unbelievable. I am in the process of filing multiple complaints against them to alert other potential renters of their actions. read more

Buying your first home should be something wonderful and magical with the right amount of hardship to make it that much sweeter when you're no longer a renter. But if you want to make the experience WORSE or completely get misled, misguided, screwed or taken advantage of, then do business with Torelli Realty. I originally did business with them because a friend referred me, someone I knew worked there and I thought I was doing business with a reputable company in the area. What I found was that this brokerage didn't care about me or my family and were fine to create messes they weren't willing to clean up. Here's just a few of the shady things they did to me: - made me bid against myself - Double ended the deal but some how continually found a way to screw us and pass on expenses for it - misled me to make conscious uninformed decisions as this was my first home buying experience - for the benefit of their own brokerage firm - forced me into renting back my house for a rate they deemed was right; not what was right for my family - forced me to over stay on my old lease by a month - when I tried to cancel the sale, they were busier relisting the house at a lower rate than finishing the customer service or transaction they were ethically responsible for - unprofessionally told me stories about how they drink and drive around in the neighborhood I bought in - yelled at me for their mistakes - acted like they did me a favor getting me a real estate attorney, when it was their obligation because they put me in the situation to need a lawyer - transposed the documentation on some of the paperwork - Never put in writing what the seller/buyer needed - didn't help me after forcing me to rent back - final walk through was a joke and basically what I feared, damages that we were liable for and were on our own for - my final favorite - I rarely pull race or discrimination into things. But its really clear when your money isn't green enough. When you follow the rules and somehow its not good enough because someone or people don't like you. Its not right and you know when it's happening. My family is bi-racial and I think that definitely played a factor in the disgusting reactions we received. Kip Hancock was one of the agents involved that made it unpleasant. He was rude, cocky and entitled and he came off the same way during negotiations. Apparently if you scream loud our talk loud, that's "winning". Valerie Torelli was a piece of work most of all. She fake cried with me when I was at a breaking point and when I offered to pay them commissions to just help me do this right. She offered to help pack me and pay for cleaning and do all these things she never followed through on. Once she got what she wanted, she never bothered to return phone calls or even truly show remorse for stepping over our family to get to her money. When my agent offered to give me their commission for the epic failure of this transaction, that was the only time I heard from Valerie to tell me that was not allowed. I wanted to do business with ethical people and support my neighborhood that is our forever spot. Our family is originally from Costa Mesa, so we have some additional pride. This company is the epitomy of bad customer service, bad representation and should be under HEAVY ETHICAL SCRUTINY. As a decent human being, I write this to warn others to NOT DO BUSINESS with these dishonest, terrible people. I consult businesses for a living and I have NEVER seen such unethical and unprofessional behavior. They're a fraud and should not be allowed to mess with honest, hardworking people. It should be illegal that they are still in business for all the shady things they do. If I could do minus stars, I would! Wanted to write a review because we have known about Torelli for years having lived in Mesa Verde Valerie sold us our home on Oriole Drive years ago and we are currently in escrow to sell it and closing in a few weeks. It has been a long haul but Valerie and her team did open houses and one time had a neighborhood "pub crawl" from house to house to get a buyer and get interest going in the neighborhood. Her team has creative ideas to make sales happen. We had several offers on our home and we waited for our price and got it. I do not recommend listing with Valerie Torelli. We were interested in one of her listings and I left numerous phone messages. I even sent an email, but received no replies. I contacted an agent from another brokerage and she had a extremely difficult time getting information and booking showings with Torelli Realty. In the meantime, my husband called Valerie about a different home. She said she was passing him on to one of her associates, but we never heard another word. I was sad to see that the home I wanted was eventually sold, but we never had the opportunity to see it. In the meantime, several months later, I left Valerie a voice mail about the Miraval community on the number on the Miraval sign, and surprise, no return call to a qualified buyer. We've since purchased another home, but this certainly left a negative impression and she definitely isn't doing her clients justice. (Note that I've heard that through the grapevine that her agents such as Annie are much better.) read more
