The inside is genuinely a beautiful place, curated choices and thematic selections. This place is a mature, knowledgable store; they know what their message is and are willing to allow you to explore it if you want. I found books I never expected, several for a great price. And in liu of a bookmark, I got free stickers! This was a breathe of fresh air coming from a conservative town, I actually felt welcome, I felt at home there- for the few minutes I was there. My sister and I wanted to check it out because we were in the area but as soon as we walked in she (part of LGBTQ+ community) felt very out of place among all the activist/anarchist stuff. We wanted fantasy and chill art and maybe nature books and just everything in our faces was about political or social issues/ justices or stories. We ended up politely looking around and leaving soon after empty handed. We found it ironic that for a community who believe in being and I quote from their sign "an anarchist community bookstore" that they immediately wanted to put all people entering in masks. We thought it was a little funny. They did have some cool art but a lot had words that just didn't make me want to buy it. It's dog friendly and not for profit but I wouldn't be back. We felt we were definitely outsiders and just didn't find what we were expecting or wanting.

There are plenty of fun trinkets and unique gifts to browse that go beyond the typical "Welcome" souvenirs and locally made items you'll find throughout Asheville. There seems to be a lot of local artisan. The prices are on the higher side, so you'll probably see more people browsing than buying--especially with so many other gift shops nearby offering similar items. The shop owner and workers are friendly and available to help.

I sort of happened to crane my neck at just the right time to catch this little spot, nestled into a nook in downtown Asheville. Glad I did as I always like to bring my girls back something from my trips, and it's the holiday season. I'm familiar with a lot of these toys, having stepped and tripped over them over the years. Had a stopover in Asheville and decided to check out a local comic shop. I happened to bring a…read moredozen of my comics from the 60s for possible sale. I arrived and spoke with the owner briefly, then left my books for her to check out while I browsed the store. I must say I was amazed at how well the store was laid out. Plenty of room to browse the different areas and sections. All areas clearly marked and arranged by themes. Most comic stores tend to be crammed into tight spaces and claustrophobic but this store was a pleasure to go through Nice selection of back issues and current issues, figurines, posters, graphic novels, games, and much more. And very reasonable prices too. Highly recommend if you're in the Asheville area, check it out! Oh, the very knowledgeable owner and I came to a fair deal for a dozen of my books!
