My sister and I wanted to check it out because we were in the area but as soon as we walked in she (part of LGBTQ+ community) felt very out of place among all the activist/anarchist stuff. We wanted fantasy and chill art and maybe nature books and just everything in our faces was about political or social issues/ justices or stories. We ended up politely looking around and leaving soon after empty handed. We found it ironic that for a community who believe in being and I quote from their sign "an anarchist community bookstore" that they immediately wanted to put all people entering in masks. We thought it was a little funny. They did have some cool art but a lot had words that just didn't make me want to buy it. It's dog friendly and not for profit but I wouldn't be back. We felt we were definitely outsiders and just didn't find what we were expecting or wanting.

My husband and I have been to the newish friends of the library book store a few times and had neutral experiences most times. The selection is not what it used to be and the prices are also a bit out of touch.... Today was disappointing for other reasons... volunteers Amy Pat and one more woman were loudly gossiping about everyone and anything they could as well as making extremely ignorant statements about widely divisive topics . We happen to belong to a few of the groups of people that they were gleefully passing judgement on. I'm glad they are enjoying their freedom of speech but I'm disappointed in the lack of manners. It created an awkward environment where we felt very uncomfortable and we don't feel welcome to return.

There is an interesting variety of records here, both new and used, all well-categorized by genre. I know that can be helpful for some but with his wide-ranging tastes, I ended up in almost all of the sections, and separating country into multiple sub-genres was an exercise in frustration as I am not familiar with the differences! I spent at least 25 minutes in the store trying to find something from his Amazon Wish List, but I utterly and completely struck out on my visit here. Even more disappointing was that despite the length of time I was there, the woman at the front paid me no mind from the beginning of my visit until the end.
