Check and check and check. It's on Wall Street, the street behind Main Street in Waynesville, so don't sleep on it and do take the small alleyway down to Wall and into the underground feeling bookstore. There, you'll be in the labyrinth of literature, a veritable hallowed hall of hardbacks, a perfect little palace of paperpacks. The shop is very reasonably priced; I found a title from 1953 for just $4 and added it to my read-while-traveling library. I also had a lovely conversation with the owners who have stewarded the shop in its current iteration and who really love what they're doing. Worth your time to step away from Main for a moment, you'll definitely discover something when you do.

There is also a dog inside and he loves to show off his toys and receive pets! I overheard a conversation going on between a customer and the owner/worker where they mentioned that there is a book club where they bring food/snacks to it, which sounded pretty neat. The prices of books in the store were nicely priced and like most other book store prices around.

This is a new book bookstore (for used, you must visit Wall Street Books just up the road). I really loved how this was laid out. There's a real focus on local titles from the practical hiking/outdoors to the regional cuisine; you can really explore the WNC through books and they've got exactly the right setup to do it.

Great book store! I have been to Sylva several times but today was my first time checking out the…read morebookstore. Also the bookstore was so much bigger than I thought it was from the outside. They have both a new and previously loved section so there are some great deals for readers on a budget. I did not have a chance to interact with any of the staff but I did overhear them helping so customers and they seem to be very happy to help people find books they will love. I will absolutely be back to get more books... probably tomorrow!

I liked the name so much because I was the type of person who used malaprops a good amount. It's extra charming because you're able to order something from their cafe while reading your book. This spot is deceptively huge. The different sections are very intentional and beautifully organized. I had an especially great time looking at the "Beautiful Books" section this visit. I ended up falling in love with a short stories book by Chips Hardy that I took home. I also adored their graphic t-shirts here. I am not a big t-shirt person, but always want more graphic tees, so was so excited to love this one so much. I had a really special experience with one of the booksellers here on my recent visit too. I could not find The Enchanted April in the fiction section and when I asked, one of the booksellers got really excited about the author and that book. She passionately told me how wonderful the book was. We were sad to see it was sold out, but suggested I check a bookstore a block over. I love this bookstore and think everyone should make it a stop on an Asheville trip.

The staff was incredibly helpful, guiding us to books on the specific topics I was interested in. They made perfect bedtime stories and great educational companions to the adventures we shared while exploring the Cherokee area. 10 out of 10 -- I highly recommend choosing a book connected to the area or culture you're visiting as a more meaningful and memorable keepsake.
