They offered beer and wine for alcoholic beverages at the bar. The ambiance was intimate and the decor was perfect. We listened to tunes by D'Angelo and Jill Scott. The duo singing both had amazing voices and put their own spin on each song. I've been to several Candlelight events but the one here a La Maison Rouge was my favorite. I hope to come back for more events.

The location, within the historic Foundry building, adds a bit of character and charm to the overall ambiance. The service was friendly, though it was a bit inconsistent. The catering dropped the ball for people who did not eat meat or fish. My plate consisted of a dry salad (no dressing) and some sort of grain dish that I opted not to eat. Our server struggled with our table of eight, as we had to wait longer than expected for refills and updates on our meal offerings and timing. It wasn't a major issue, but it did take away from the overall experience. The tables and chairs need to be reupholstered or replaced, as the chairs we had damaged two of our table guest's dresses. Overall, it is a great venue.

Our company held our annual holiday party this year at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. The Foundry at Puritan Mill is located in Westside Atlanta, very close to the King Plow Arts Center. The site used to be home of the Puritan Chemical Company, who manufactured soaps and other cleaning products. The building has since been renovated and transformed into a clean and modern-looking facility. The floor space is huge. Sections were cordoned off with tall, elegant, white curtains. Along with nice decor and ambient lighting, the building still maintains an industrial look and feel with high, enormous ceilings with exposed ductwork and steel support beams, smooth-finished concrete floors, brick walls, and giant warehouse-style windows. There's also a patio outside, not to mention ample free parking. Puritan Mill provided more than enough space for our group of about 130-140. For our party, the venue was divided into three sections: (1) cocktails, h'orderves, (2) live music and dancing, (3) dinner. The first hour consisted of an open bar with standing tables and light h'orderves. When dinnertime rolled around, the curtains were pulled back and the beautiful, intimate dining area opened up. After dinner, dancing lasted late into the night. Overall, it was a very fun time and I had a blast. Food and drinks were provided by Bold American Catering (preferred caterer). Live entertainment was provided by Freeflight Productions of Kennesaw.

First of all, please accept this review as constructive criticism.  The building is a house…read moreconverted to a venue.  The event center is downstairs and is very small.  The workers kept walking throughout the performance crossing in front of us.  There was nowhere to place my legs with the card table set-up.  Management did not place my group at the correct table, and they kept inquiring about the number of our table.   Poor service; very unprofessional.  The bar was set up in a corner.  Drinks were weak.   They acted as though this was their first time serving patrons.  We ordered simultaneously, and two of us received their food (a pasta dish and hot wings).  The food was cold.  After 30 minutes, we received chicken tacos, which were soft tacos shells and some substance supposedly chicken.  It looked more like turkey to us; no flavour and extremely cold.  We were totally taken back.  Apparently,  there isn't a functioning kitchen at the facility. Not even sternos to keep the food hot.  Where is the quality?  Why put an event together and it was thrown together?  We try to patronize black owned businesses, but to present that poor quality is a disservice to us.  Then, on top of that, the emcee was a straight-from-the-hood woman with poor grammar that talked on and on about nothing.  Quite simply, jazz is classy music that attracts a certain genre of people.  The band played and moved as though they were auditioning or rehearing.  During the intermission, they presented spoken word.  Horrible.  We left in the middle of the poet's set.  They even allowed the photographer to speak, thanked his girlfriend, and solicited his services.  I will never recommend this establishment or "band."  A waste of my hard earned dollars, time and patience.  I will be sharing with all forms of social media to put the word out. It was in what I would expect to be the main room, which was very open, clean, and welcoming. There's a stage up front and the rest of the room is clear hardwood floors: perfect for a dance class but it'd work for a multitude of events. The entire center seems new, and I was definitely impressed by the grounds, complete with basketball courts and a soccer field. While Clarkston may have never been on my radar before this event, they're certainly lucky to have a community center like this one. #yelp365 24/365

I reached out to The Slate Room the next morning and was blown away by how easy and seamless the booking process was. Not only did they have availability, but the space ended up being even better than my original venue in every way. The location is prime, the pricing is more than fair, and the space itself is absolutely stunning. It's the perfect outdoor-hybrid setup and worked flawlessly for my party. Josh and Chavien were incredibly professional, kind, and transparent about everything from the very beginning. They walked me through all the features of the venue, answered every question I had, and made sure I felt fully supported. What really stood out to me was the level of care! Josh even came back the morning after my event to help a guest who thought they had left something behind. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare and so appreciated. Thanks to The Slate Room, what could have been a stressful disaster turned into one of the best nights ever. I truly believe my party was better because it happened here. If you're looking for a beautiful, flexible venue with great energy and even better people, this is the one. I will recommend The Slate Room every chance I get. I digress to the outside, aside from the covered patio with sofas (they need to be replaced), picnic tables & a few chairs, the seating layoff were off. Now, depending on the packages - perhaps different setups with furniture &, etc may be offered. The parking logistics were very unpleasing. The parking space is shared, so 1st come 1st park. The neighboring businesses have parking spaces yet with the security outside they will let you know if you can park there or direct you somewhere else & with a small trek. I needed a location that could accommodate the wedding ceremony and the reception. The Estate was able to do this effortlessly without sacrificing the beauty of the wedding ceremony or the fun of the reception. I loved planning my wedding at the Estate because it is a one stop shop: they did our flowers, decorations, linens, food, bar service, valet parking and our cake! As a busy bride, it is so helpful to not have to coordinate with numerous vendors. The artistry of the floral arrangements blew me away. The venue was a hit with our guests as it is an interesting building that allows the wedding to flow seamlessly from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. The venue is tucked off Piedmont Road behind a nondescript brick wall and gate. It is the kind of place you've driven past a million times and never thought twice about. Once you go through the gates of the driveway, you won't forget it. The landscaping and trees that surround the Estate make it hard to believe you are in the middle of Buckhead (we got some great outdoor photos). The main house is a historic antebellum home with a huge sun porch, chic interior design and beautiful art on the walls. There are at least 4 spaces for bars in the main house with a ceremony space and ballroom built off the side of the original structure. I'd recommend having your wedding here-- it was easy to plan with the staff at the Estate and the wedding was so beautiful thanks to their work.

Never once did I have to ask for a drink or bite to eat. I wish I could have him with me every day! The food was "the best wedding food we've ever had" and you have an enormous amount of options to choose from. The property was pristine and is obviously kept up nicely. If you are looking for a wedding venue where you and your guests leave saying "Wow! That was perfect. Everything ran so smoothly", then The Estate is the place for you.
