Had an AWESOME time on the Sashimi II with Amber and Hayley (so sorry if I spelled that wrong)! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! We were able to do exactly what we wanted to and caught a few different kinds of fish for dinner. They gave some advice on cooking them and let us ask a million questions while watching the fish get cleaned. Couldn't have asked for a better boat crew. Girl power!! (Having their pups along was a great addition, too ) definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

*********************** 809 ************************* I came to this dock often because of parasailing a few doors down from Sashimi Fun Fishing. We look at all the boat around here, we decided to go with Sashimi Fun Fishing despite some of the odd reviews on Yelp. I'd rather go with my gut instinct, and I'm glad we did. For only $56 with some discount from the booklet, we RSVP for HALF DAY fishing. They pick you up at the location, but we didn't need a ride, we came straight here. Started out around Noon and came back to the dock around 3 PM. Sashimi II boat is about 60 feet long, big, spacious ad we were lucky only 10 guests on this trip. We got to see the beautiful Waikiki shores, the Diamond Head, surfers try to catch the waves, people that were parasailing, and the best of all we saw WHALES :-) I didn't know that they serve you a plate of food too: rice, hotdog, baked bean and pineapple. The captain doesn't talk much, but his helper, this cute guy, gave us plenty of baits all afternoon, unlike other Yelp reviews here, so inaccurate! After an hour, only a few of us caught some fishes, the captain moved toward the Diamond Head, then every one caught some fishes: Lots of Triggefishes, Yellow Lipped Triggerfish, Lai, Akule, Nabeta, and Ta'ape. I was busy sunbathing and soaked up the beautiful sun of December while my friends are stand on their feet for 3 hours to catch some fishes! It was fun, beautiful weather, and you can BYOB here. What a lovely day it was, we would totally do it again. I wonder why Yelpers complain it's expensive, really? Even the Booze Cruise at Waikiki Beach is already $25 for 1 hour ride, here you got to do a whole lot more, 3 hours ride, food, baits, fishing for $56?

I purchased a Groupon for a bottom fishing experience for two. Most of the reviews sounded pretty good and I was so excited about this adventure. First things first, I called to make a reservation not really thinking about the time difference. I live in TX so there is a 6 hr time change. Apparently I called prior to business hours and a man answered rudely and told me I needed to call back during business hrs and hung up in my face! I'm thinking someone needs to invest in an answering service! Anyway I called back later and made the reservation. Oh btw he informed me of a $7pp parking fee at the harbor. Again no biggie. My husband and I arrived on time and found a spot with paid parking, I believe it was $5 for the day. Also the advertisement mentioned free hotel pickup but was never offered this option. After a brief wait a Company van with a lot of foreign visitors pulled up and began unloading. The man that checked us in did so fairly quickly but on top of the Groupon he wanted $14 bucks. When asked why and that we paid for parking he said it was for harbor taxes and stuff!! Well okay, seems strange. We paid as I'm sure many people do just to get going. Overall we had a blast! Our group caught so many fish that we didn't need the hotdog bbq that was offered. Every one had fresh fish for lunch which was awesome. I will give kudos to the first mate that was helping filet fish and cook food! He was cool as hell!!! Overall we had a great time despite the initial rudeness and sneaky fees. I think that the hotel pick up is only offered to folks paying full price and not using Groupon. Please keep this in mind and please correct me if I am mistaken.

The view was awesome .. Didn't catch any fish. If you want to go for the experience of seeing the view and drink some beer out in the ocean then yes it's for you but to catch a fish it will be a no!! It's a fishing trip to catch small fishes and letting them go basically it's just lunch time to feed them . I'm pretty disappointed on this trip.. Oh yeah and they feed you nasty food when they tell you it's a bbq.

My daughter and I just got back to the mainland from Honolulu. The highlight of our trip was again, Sashimi fishing tours. Captain Chuck is talented and amazing. We caught So many fish. A grey snapper (Unu) which he cooked up Right there on the boat... A puffer fish... Saw turtles and dolphins. It's an experience out of this world!!! A must do when you're on Oahu. We took the trip 3 times this vacation. The sunset/ fireworks cruise was Amazing!!! Very affordable and worth Every moment. The views of Honolulu, Diamond Head and the Island are majestic and magical. A must do!!! Thank you Sashimi Fishing Tours. You've added magic to our lives that will last forever.

View of Waikiki from the boat.

My group did the bottom fishing tour on Friday night. I saw this tour on Groupon and decided to give it a try. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotels which was a great additional service! Before departing we were offered hotdogs, rice and chili. There was also water. I'm not sure if the food was good or not as I decided not to eat in case I got seasick (which I didn't, YAY!) Once out fishing people started getting bites right away and a few of us including myself caught and released some fish. It was a good time. Even if we didn't fish or if it was a slow day of not catching anything the trip would have still been worth it. You get to have amazing views of Waikiki and if you go Friday night you get to watch the sunset and fireworks! Great experience for just you or the whole family!

Chuck was amazing! I came to Oahu alone and went on the bottom fishing tour and had a blast. Everyone was catching except me and Chuck & his lady helped me get a catch! Although I was getting sea sick, they did everything possible to make me comfortable. I highly recommend the bottom fishing on the Sashimi II for families, couples, or even if you're a lone traveler!

My 7 year old daughter and husband had great time. They kept catching a lot of fish. They were not huge fishes, but they enjoyed it very much. My problem is that most of places only offer sport fishing and cost hundreds of dollars. That would be great if you had a lof of friends going with you to share the cost. This was cheap and included transportation. Right price for a daddy and daughter little fun trip. Only negative party was lunch. Maybe they can offer hotdogs or tacos. They didn't like the food. Otherwise it was good trip and totally recommend for family.

So fun! We had a blast and would definitely recommend this place. The deckhand Ian was awesome. He helped us out and was very nice. He knew a lot about fishing and the fish we caught. The captain was also very nice and was good about switching areas when nobody was catching fish. For the price they charge it's way worth coming and checking out. Thanks for making my first fishing trip fun and educational

Whereas other shops wanted to charge me for a full on course, Captain Maddie set me up with her dive-master sister, Ashley. Ashley did a refresher on our way out then made sure I had a great, safe experience for my first time back in the water, taking me on two shallow reef dives. We saw so many turtles, eels, a shark and several octopuses (Ashley has an incredible eye for spotting them). I had such a great time I booked another dive. This time, noting my comfort level, Ashley took me on two deeper wreck dives. They were spectacular. I'm so grateful I found Ruckus, Maddie and Ashley. There are a ton of options for diving on Oahu and I really lucked out choosing them. The personal focus the sisters gave me both times was above and beyond. I can't wait to come back to Hawaii and go diving with them again and again.

Parking is available near the boat for a pay by hour cost using one of two apps. Their timeline for return was accurate, and we even got to a point of being out where we had enough and were ready to return a little early. Bathrooms are available in a nearby building with key from the boat, or on the boat itself. A majority of the people on the boat took motion sickness medicine prior to the trip to avoid any issue. It was consistent waves the whole trip with no stopping so be prepared. The boat has a covered area with table and seats, along with air conditioning and fans. We brought some snacks and a cooler with drinks and food that we put out on the table for all to consume as desired. The crew put the lines in the water for the large fish which we didn't catch any of. Apparently the reel spins when a fish is on the line and you jump on it to reel it in. I've never been sport fishing to know the feeling of reeling one in or seeing one reeled in. After some time waiting for something to hit and everyone getting tired, they put the smaller poles in the water and allowed people to hold them trolling. This is how we caught the fish we did catch that ranged in size from probably 12-20". They put up a little fight and we lost a few along the way that could've been much larger but we'll never know. Upon return, a neighbor boat gave us a 25 lb fish they caught since the crew was cleaning our catch. I don't eat fish but my wife is very happy with what we brought home. The crew was very helpful in trying to provide a pleasurable experience by helping with the poles, advising, and cleaning fish to take home. Overall a great experience and we would likely return hoping to catch something larger.

I've been dropping by every time we're back on the islands for over 20 years, and it's still the first stop off the plane. I will say though, service can be a little rough sometimes. Some days are good, some days not so much. But honestly, that's never been the point of this place. You're not coming here for some polished haole sales pitch of some sort, you're coming because these guys know what they're doing and they'll get you what you need so you can get back in the water. And that's where they really shine. Need a j tube? They've got it. Need a new band? They can fab it up in like 5 minutes so you can still make it to the spot on time. They almost always have exactly what I need in stock and at a fair price. You'll see some of the best divers in the islands and honestly, some of the best in the world just casually stopping in. The shirts and designs are also totally underrated. They've got their own local style and I've of course picked up a few over the years and they hold up good. Hanapa'a is one of those rare functional places you can always rely on. it's rooted in the community, and it delivers when it counts. If you dive, you already know. Avoid This Tour - Unprofessional and Poorly Managed I had a…read morevery disappointing experience with this fishing tour and would strongly advise others to avoid it. First, the check-in address provided in the confirmation email was outdated. I followed the instructions, took an Uber to the listed location, and only discovered it was wrong after calling the company. I then had to take another Uber to their actual location to make it on time. This kind of logistical error is unacceptable and shows a lack of basic communication. When I finally arrived, I was told I needed to pay an additional $2 due to some law. That would've been fine -- if it had been mentioned anywhere in the confirmation email. Worse, they only accepted cash, or required a minimum $10 purchase to use a card. I didn't have cash on me, and when I asked if I could Venmo, the front desk staff rudely repeated that it was "cash only." When I asked where in the email this was mentioned, he falsely claimed it was included -- but when I showed him the email and asked him to point it out, he avoided the question and repeated the same line. There was no apology, just a cold attitude. In the end, other kind tourists helped us out of the situation -- not the staff. As for the tour itself: the instruction was minimal. When I asked how I would know if there was a bite, I was simply told, "You'll know it," with no further explanation. My fishing spot was poorly placed -- right in the middle of one side of the boat -- and with the wind, my line kept getting blown underneath. I kept recasting, but it didn't help. Eventually, a staff member tried fishing from the same spot and caught nothing either. Clearly, this was a bad spot for fishing in those conditions, but they assigned it anyway. Overall, this tour was disorganized, poorly managed, and left a very bad impression. Save your money and book a tour with a more professional, courteous company.

So we had to walk 30 minutes to the next location which, they said if we didn't make it in time they were going to leave without us, they told us that it was catch and release, and they would no longer offer us a discount. Once we were on the boat there were about 22 people and maybe seven fish were caught, the workers were all fishing instead of trying to help us catch fish. I was very disappointed.
