When I called to cancel, I was told I am locked into a one-year contract and would have to pay a penalty to cancel early. The amount was basically the balance of the year's payment - in this case 11 months. The issue is that I was never clearly informed of any contract terms. I was told the agreement was made verbally, yet I cannot find any email confirmation or written documentation outlining the terms, pricing, or cancellation policy. They could have just charge me for one month and I would have been ok with it. I feel completely blindsided by this situation. Customers should not be enrolled in contracts without clear, documented consent and transparent communication. I have requested a copy of the contract and proof of my agreement, and I am currently waiting for a response. Until this is resolved, I strongly caution others to carefully review their bills and be extremely cautious when dealing with Reliance, as you may be enrolled in services without clear awareness.
