BEWARE!!! I took my teenage daughter in for a consultation, they charged me $550 non refundable enrollment fee plus an additional $250 after insurance (which came later to my surprise), $800 out of pocket for a 30 minute consultation and a print out of a dietary guideline I could have found online. She threw out multiple diagnoses that did not fit any of my daughter's symptoms, referred me to other doctors then sent in a script for blood pressure medicine without my knowledge or consent. Completely unprofessional and rude not only to us but to her staff, my daughter was so overwhelmed she left in tears. Find someone else, her attitude alone is not worth the headache and her system is a scam. read more

I see Dr. Desai and I cannot recommend her enough! She is an attentive doctor and is respectful of transgender patients, which is an amazing find here in Arizona. Originally, I was quite happy with Dr. Desai as she has a very holistic approach to medicine and does a wonderful job as a physician. However, a month before next appt her office left a voicemail saying I had an upcoming appointment (ok), that some bloodwork would be need prior (ok), and to discuss a new membership model (not sure what that was but, sure, I'll listen). I was on vacation so a couple of weeks later I finally tried calling back - took a week between multiple no answers or not returning my call to get in touch. They mention the membership without explaining, then after prodding finally say it will cost me $1000 per year PLUS insurance to essentially do things, like make timely appt, working with the other doctors (after just having said she is a solo practitioner??), etc. that a doctor's office should be doing. No real benefits, just a money grab. And they had already cancelled my appt. because I didn't call back right away (without trying to contact me through their portal, email or any other means) (and, like a previous poster said they called multiple times and left multiple message but I only had one message = LIE). When I said not interested they immediately told me they dropped me and said I need to find someone else. Now I'm stuck without my records (which they never sent to a different provider). I read this as "We don't give a sxxx about your health just money." STAY AWAY unless you like overpaying! It's unfortunate Dr. Desai is treating her patients like a new car - subscription upcharge for even the most basic, fundamental care. If you can't manage your solo practice then maybe bring your medical skills to a larger practice. read more

I encountered the rudest office staff of any doctor here. The doctor herself refuses to return telephone calls regarding my care. I had to end up going to another doctor. But this office refused to provide copies of records until they have been requested in excess of 20 times. They never answer the phone, they do not return phone calls, they don't respond to messages or voicemails, and it doesn't matter whether those requests are forwarded to her through her office or her personal friends. This doctor doesn't care about patients and abandoned them in the middle of care without any communication whatsoever. She needs to be sanctioned and potentially lose her license I would not recommend her to anybody. read more

I really feel like Dr. Desai is a partner in my health care and is genuinely concerned about my welfare and quality of life. My case is complex with many moving parts and she's picked up on issues that aren't strictly related to cardiology and partnered with me to work on them. My Primary Care Physician referred me to Dr. Desai because she is probably the only cardiologist who really understands the complexities of Disautonomia. Dr. Desai also understands how Mast Cell Disease, Ehlers Danlos and Myesthenia Gravis impacts my Adrenal Insufficiency. I've seen local cardiologists and doctors at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md and Dr. Desai is the only one who has really seen and addressed the big picture. I firmly believe that Dr. Desai offers knowledge and expertise not offered by any other cardiologists in the valley. I am so grateful she is partnering with me to improve my quality of life. read more

I don't like to post negative reviews but in this case I feel I should. I first became a patient with Sarika Desai, OD last year and all my appointments were FaceTime bc of covid. On April 14, 2022 I had an appointment scheduled and as always assumed it was another FaceTime. Her staff member called me 20 minutes before the appointment was to start and said I was suppose to be in the office. I told her I assumed it was another FaceTime appointment as always and she said she had called me multiple times which she had not and also I didn't have any voicemails, so she said she had to cancel my appointment and I needed to pay $25 fee which I refused and she hung up on me. I received a letter a few days later stating that Dr Desai was discharging me as a patient. I was shocked that this staff member would blatantly lie regarding her so called multiple phone calls and also what concerns me the most is the unprofessional way to discharge a patient b/c of their first missed appointment and the $25 fee on top of it all, unfortunately, shows that Dr. Desai only cares about the money rather than her patients well being. read more

Great Cardiologist with a great staff. Knowledgeable, professional, and interested in her patients. I highly recommend Dr. Desai if you are dealing with complex health issues and dysuatonomia. She takes the time to listen to you and offers good advice. She uses medical expertise to help you with your condition. She also treats patients as a whole and will offer very helpful lifestyle changes to help and improve your condition. After a change in medication and a few easy lifestyle changes I found my symptoms and condition vastly improved. She is very knowledgable and is also in touch with a lot of other great doctors that she referred me to to help me get better answers about my health and better care. Dr. Desai actually LISTENED to me. I've been told my whole life that I was either exaggerating or outright crazy. She quickly dismissed that school of thought and affirmed that I had a medical condition that she could help me with. She actually educated me on my condition and provided resources. I've suffered from a chronic heart problem for over 20 years. During that time I've had several cardiology doctors, all of whom were good doctors. My primary care physician recommended Dr. Desai, and after one visit I knew she was the doctor for me! The first thing she did was discover my that my long time heart medication was working fine with my heart, but was reacting with my lungs, causing shortness of breath and dizziness. She changed my medicine and the new med works with my heart, but has no affect on my lungs. No words can express how much this change has improved my life quality. My previous Cardiologist worked in a giant practice, where patients were shuffled through like boot camp recruits. My doctor was almost always running 30-60 minutes late. Dr. Desai is always on time. She and her staff are wonderful. I feel like I won the Doctor Lottery! read more

Dr Desai really cares about patients, she takes the time to listen and explain the different procedures. She has set me up for different tests and actually performed many of them "in house". I'm always sure that she has my well being in mind. She has been a "God Send", I've had problems whith my heart and she has explained my problem in a way that I understand and relieaved a lot of fear and anxiety. The whole staff in very up-beat and it's a very relaxing place to visit. If she wasn't covered by my insurance, I'd switch companies. read more

These reviews must somewhat false... there is no way Dr. Desai deserves a High Rating. I was nice and polite but because I did not have a family doctor and did not sign a release form by accident for Medicare (which is not needed) she refused to treat me. She was easily offended and very insecure. I took a lot of time to type a complete cover letter for my visit... but she refused and/or would not take the time to read it. Bottom line ... she refused to treat me. Complete medical negligence and very unprofessional. read more

I am SO upset with the front desk at this place. I called and booked my appointment over the phone on my mom's behalf over two weeks ago. She urgently needs to see a heart doctor and drove all the way over to her appointment today to see the doctor and was told upon arrival that they don't take her insurance. Excuse me, what?? I was on the phone with the receptionist for over 30 minutes the day I booked this appointment. I did find it odd that she was asking for the PO Box address on the back of my mom's insurance card and was having a bunch of trouble with her card info when we spoke. It shouldn't take more than a group number and account # but nonetheless I gave her all the info she asked for. She then assured me that they DO take her insurance and finished booking the appointment. I received a confirmation email immediately after the call with all her appointment info, etc. Two weeks later and she is told in person they don't take her insurance. I am so upset because now my mom was not only turned away for her appointment just now but now she has to wait another who knows how long before we can get her in with another doctor. This is beyond frustrating and now stressful. Very poor front desk management. read more

I have been dealing with all sorts of specialists, facilities, offices, etc and have had many tests done over the last 6 months. I was beyond disheartened with the continuous unprofessionalism/lack of care received by doctors and staff at most locations until I went to Dr. Desai. Her and her staff gave me hope and ease with their personable nature and knowledge. Her assistant was very kind as well. In the first visit alone I had a few tests done. She listened to all my symptoms, concerns, let me ask questions and thoroughly thought through any possibility of what could be going on with me. She requested additional testing, those done in a timely fashion as well. She gave me ideas and recommendations of new neurologists and new pcp for the additional tests she said I should receive by them. She even went as far as to contact a couple neurologists for me to get the ball rolling faster. She was so attentive, genuinely caring, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She was the first doctor I'd dealt with in MONTHS that gave me a glimmer of hope that there was light at the end of the tunnel. She is hands down the best doctor I have ever "had the pleasure" of having to see. read more
