I went in for my CNA skills test today and everything seemed perfectly fine. I checked in at the…read morefront desk and the instructor seemed nice at first. I was waiting in the designated waiting area and over heard the instructor bitching about a student who was not there yet. Apparently the student was running a couple minutes late due to the really bad weather. Once the student arrived I heated the instructor being extremely rude to the student. So, after that ordeal another student in the waiting area decided to leave due to over hearing everything that had just happened. Due to the attitude and energy the instructor displayed it made everyone else extremely nervous and honestly made me have very bad anxiety going into my skills. Once in the skills testing area the instructor was very rude to me as well. I understand everyone has bad days but I hope the instructor realizes that a lot of the students are nervous because they are taking their state skills test and her acting the way she did and treating the students the way she did was unacceptable. Hopefully this place will get a new instructor soon!

My daughter attended NDS for four months, during their summer program and the first six weeks of…read morefirst grade. I believe that the teachers at the school are passionate and truly want to teach kids and love the ones that are at the school. However, I feel that due to the way the school is structured, there is an utter lack of continuity and communication between the staff. Very little communication happens between any of them. On three different occasions I had to have a family member or babysitter pick up my child. Every time I told her teacher assuming she could pass the information to the pertinent people, every time the aftercare provider both did not know and really didn't care who was picking up my kid. In the morning before school starts there is only one person watching the kids and it is utter chaos. Children are running around in a hallway, the lunchroom and in another room. Unless you seek out the person in charge of them all, she would have absolutely no idea who was there or not. There are way too many kids for one person to watch. I find this to be true after school as well. There is only one phone for the whole school, which is in the preschool room, it gets monitored by the owner and teacher of preschool kids when he can check the phone. If you have an emergency or need to talk to them right away, your best bet is to go down there. Field trips are a mess. Aside from myself having issues with the two that happened while my daughter went to school there, I know several other parents who don't allow their kids to go unless they can go as well. Overall I find the education program is probably decent and the small class size cap is obviously a bonus. The price is much much lower than what you would pay at other private schools in town as well, but now I think you get what you pay for. I believe that there is a lot of possibility for the school if NDS would get a bit more organized. For my family, the safety concerns at the school outweighed the much reduced cost of their program and we ended up going to another school that costs twice as much and getting twice as much for our money.
