I never want to hurt any businesses ability to grow or to be profitable, but I think there is much to be said about this company. I took the time to read all the previous google reviews, and it appears to me that there was a pattern of disappointment and a need for this business to be investigated. Suddenly the reviews changed to be only favorable mostly towards one person who is the owner of the company. I find this suspicious and odd as if they are all being asked to write a review. Although this Maryann may be a good instructor for some; it was not the experience my family had at this school. I am very close to someone who was touched by one of this schools male instructors, and without apology from Maryann. She came in the classroom spoke to the class in front of her male employee and once again left the all female class alone with this man to finish the day. She never once bothered to contact anyone, and she made my family member feel completely intimidated which based on previous reviews is a normal pattern for her. One reviewer said she was abusive. This is utter neglect for any instructor and definitely a business owner. I also discovered in reading the reviews this is not the first time this same male instructor named Bruce had crossed the line with students or staff. I find this woman to be disgraceful, sickening, callus and clearly greedy. I would caution any person to beware of this woman for any class that she may have your family member in and make sure you talk to them to be certain they have not been placed in harms way with this woman. The only reason my family member was allowed to complete this program is the office manager; a young woman that works there named Skorpiaa. She was sincerely apologetic, reassured me that no one in the class would ever be near this man again, and she checked up on the welfare of the students daily until class was over and she contacted us to make sure we were doing well. She is a true delight and I trusted her and her word which she owned. I will definitely be filing a complaint against Maryann and her school with the oregon state board of nursing. Anyone with this type of blatant disregard for a clients safety and welfare should not have a business. read more

My review is a little mixed. I have taken 48 refresher here at EMT several times and I used to love coming and having Marcus because he knows his S#%T. I like Richard because he's young and relatable and has a lot of useful and current information but then you get to the rest of these people who along with Maryann need to retire as instructors. Every year she is not prepared, she can't run the equipment and not one word of information has been updated by her or she gives you information that has no value to you. I know Maryann owns the company but her attitude has gotten worse and definitely more grumpier, rude and bitter over the years. I was going to come back to my department and recommend that we never use this place again, but then comes the reason why I give 4 stars, but she alone deserves a 10. EMT has this young woman names Skorpia working there with an accent, voice, smile, laugh and personality from the GODS! She listened to my and others complaints and made it all right with the training world. If she is still there next year we will return and every year she is there we will return, because she is that GREAT at customer service and making people feel important. This has been my 5th consecutive paramedic refresher course in 10 years with EMT Associates and I'm happy to report that I still walk away learning something new each time I attend. I chose this course, due to the simple fact that my fire department has chosen to use "online" EMS training. This style of continuing education style doesn't work for me. Instead, I come here. After 20 years as a paramedic in the community, I'm not looking to walk away from this course expecting to find all the subjects refreshing and new. I enjoy the review, and spending time going over the "Zebras" that can occur during calls on the job (rare events). Marry Anne and her instructors are fun, interactive, and they continually check in with the class to see what our needs are and if we have questions or interests we may want to follow up on. read more

I am currently enrolled in the Paramedicine Program at Umpqua Community College, despite living in Eugene. I really struggled my first term of EMT Basic. Reaching the literal end of my rope I reached out to Mary Ann Vaghan of EMT Associates. In a single study session I felt like I was caught up with the rest of my cohort. By the second session I was maxing my tests and by the end of the first black of EMT Basic, I had the highest score in the class, two away from the maximum possible for the Term. I want to commend all the staff at EMT Associates. I had a unique situation with a lapsed Paramedic license where I could not find a 48 hour refresher anywhere in Oregon or Washington in August of 2025. I was desperate, out of options, and expected my license would soon be revoked. Thank god I got in touch with Mary Ann when I did. She personally made sure that I could get my 48 hour refresher in on time seamlessly, while also at a reasonable cost. Attended a class in December 2018 and the instructors were great. They were up to date on all protocols and updates. It was a very informative and the instructors were very professional. I have been attending this class every two years since 2000. I would highly recommend this group for continuing education. It would be nice if instructors would ask student's to turn off or mute their cellphones. This was very disruptive. read more

I took a class here last month and the training was good, but the chairs were a little hard on my butt. our instructor was good and her way of teaching made it so that i'm confident working in the hospital. if you go here for cna2 the best part is the program director name Scorpio. everyone in my class liked her and she will help you with anything. way nice person.
