My instructor Mary Ann Vaughn was professional, answered questions as they came up and made her self available to review anything we had questions about. It was clear that she knew what we needed to know and was confident that if we studied what she taught us we would pass. I have worked with Kelly several times in different capacities, her lactation class and birth…read morepreparation got me ready to have my first child and eased my mind in so many ways. I felt comfortable asking questions, she went over anything I was nervous about (birth plan, and nursing with your newborn) until I felt more confident. Kelly made sure I understood all the information, and made it easy to digest. She had helpful suggestions for new mothers and fathers that truly made the process for my partner and I much smoother. Her classes are amazing! I also had several Reiki clearing sessions with her and she helped clear away things I didn't realize where there, that were directly affecting my emotions and thoughts. She is a master teacher, Healer, and a wonderful human being, if you feel called to work with Kelly, definitely go with your instincts and be open to the wealth of knowledge, skills, healing abilities and clarity she has to offer. I am most grateful to have crossed paths with Kelly!

EPCP was a great choice for our family. I was looking for more than childcare for my child; I…read morewanted a place where I could pop in or stay all day, and be part of his first introduction to school. And I wanted a community we could feel connected to. EPCP is all that. Parents work in the classroom as parent-teachers, so you have to be aware that not everyone will parent-teach the way you would. That can be challenging. The reward is seeing your child bloom among others, first-hand. The school has been in place for more than 50 years and the teacher for the two-year-olds has been teaching for more than 25. The older class (three- and four-year-olds) has had some fluctuation over the past year; our beloved teacher moved away and proved difficult to replace, but after some trial and error, a fresh and enthusiastic teacher seems to be fitting the bill. Though our family is moving on this year, I believe the community will thrive in the years to come. Tuition is low. The community is incredibly supportive. The school partners with local UO-based EC Cares to provide evaluations and assistance to kids who need a little extra attention. No school is perfect (hence four stars, rather than five) but EPCP is pretty awesome. Experience will vary based on your participation level, and that of the other families. We're going to miss EPCP for sure!

Some of the student workers go above and beyond and care so much about their school. The lab on the 3rd floor of chiles has great resources and the staff are all so helpful and wonderful. I spent so much time here and it often felt more like Disneyland than a school. This is entirely due to the amazing people that work there.

The Ford Alumni Center has been such a fantastic venue for the Ronald McDonald House Charities…read moreannual gala the last couple of years. What I love most: 1) Multiple spaces that can be used within and outside in the courtyard, spreading the activations. We use it in September, and fingers crossed for this year, the weather has been perfect and we've had a live band outside. 2) Isaiah Truong is fantastic to work with. He is very responsive and will dig for answers if there are other university cross-overs. 3) Location is in town, parking in garage is convenient. 4) Ability to work with outside catering. What I don't love: Because it is a working building on-campus, other events sometimes complicate convenience factors, ie, concert at Matt Knight, sports schedule or student events can affect parking or spaces within the Alumni Center. It is important to realize this and walk in with eyes wide open and keep the communication lines open. On the bright side, Isaiah is very helpful walking through some of these hiccups. Overall, I will keep coming back because it is one of the best (the best??) event spaces in town for 200 or less people. Here's the sizzle reel: https://youtu.be/kwLZ8G3a_Ng?si=jxaH_1OdDrtkPMcn
