Getting ready to send my baby girl off to live in the dorms at university, away from home for the…read morefirst time. Lately, she has felt a bit uneasy (as have her parents). Her father and I thoroughly researched the whole pepper spray scene. We all know of people who have their canisters and have simply taken an online or youtube class. That was not thorough enough for us. A 4-hour class was only $100, very well worth it. I got to watch, and my daughter was able to practice and hear of real-life scenarios from an expert who has been in numerous situations. She walked out of there today feeling very empowered. Like me, she may never have to use the spray in her entire life. But she feels that she has been well informed and prepared for so much more than she'd imagined. (She has watched some of the videos and say they don't prepare her as thoroughly as the class did.) We are going back to take the self-defense class together.

I was waiting in the designated waiting area and over heard the instructor bitching about a student who was not there yet. Apparently the student was running a couple minutes late due to the really bad weather. Once the student arrived I heated the instructor being extremely rude to the student. So, after that ordeal another student in the waiting area decided to leave due to over hearing everything that had just happened. Due to the attitude and energy the instructor displayed it made everyone else extremely nervous and honestly made me have very bad anxiety going into my skills. Once in the skills testing area the instructor was very rude to me as well. I understand everyone has bad days but I hope the instructor realizes that a lot of the students are nervous because they are taking their state skills test and her acting the way she did and treating the students the way she did was unacceptable. Hopefully this place will get a new instructor soon!

The quality of care is the highest I've seen at any preschool (we've tried four others in the area), and my kids have been there for the past two years. There are always at least two teachers in the room with the kids. They offer nutritious snacks, and are sensitive to food allergies. There is a lot of outdoor play time, even in foul weather because they have a covered place for the kids to play. The kids learn lots of songs, social-emotional skills, and academic skills. If you do, the spots are so tight! Don't expect to be able to get out of your car pregnant, let alone with a car seat.
