Aside from my own intuition to not enroll him, I went ahead. Days-prior, we experienced a COVID scare and I disenrolled him. Upon resurgence of COVID (and upon my son's request), I disenrolled him after giving it a few days. We received a total of less than one week of instruction for $750. Tell me if you think this sounds ethical. Not only have other parents discussed similar issues with this school, but staff has as well. I would not recommend this school for anyone interested in a true Montessori school interested in community and consistent with policy.

Next Step's retail store set him up with a 2006 iMac on OS 10.7.5. The base price was $299.99, but, any time you make a donation at the donation end of Next Step, you get a 20% off coupon for the retail store, so we made a donation in advance of our purchase and got the computer for $239.99 with the coupon. Had my dad been willing to switch to a PC, he could have got something even cheaper -- and Next Step's PCs are all on Windows 7. Next Step also referred us to Techmedic in the Big Y Shopping Center for transfer of data from the old Mac to the new-to-him one, and that cost only $80, less than the $99 quoted at The Mac Store. As for the donation end: If you have privacy concerns about donating old computers, techs at the donation center will remove the hard drives for you if you ask. For most computers this is a simple process, but I once brought in an old Mac laptop on a Saturday afternoon and was told to bring it back on a weekday so a more experienced tech could extract the hard drive -- I did so, and then I didn't have it sitting in my attic any longer.

I walked around and found one, who did not appear to know anything about his class, and vaguely waved him over to join the other children sitting around. On the third day, I discovered that the children were at the center for only the first 2 hours each afternoon, then taken to a park and left, apparently unsupervised, for the remaining hour. While there, my grandson was bullied, including being physically hit below the belt. After this, he refused to return. I paid $180 for this opportunity for him to learn computer animation, and the result was (possibly) 6 hours of instruction, and his humiliation and physical hurt. Shame on this place for allowing this to happen to children.

I attended the DPSST unarmed security course and the instructor, Logan Nichols, was very…read moreprofessional, clear, and a great teacher all around. The course itself was 14 hours over two days including breaks every hour including one hour for lunch for each day. During the course you'll receive everything you need to enter the world of private security including a hundred page manual which the instructor will go over with you and answer any questions you have. The course is finished with a fifty question test that is open note, but if you pay attention in class and write down what you need, consulting notes on the test will only slow you down. Seriously, I'm a terrible test taker but I scored around 95%. The hardest part is the second day where you'll start to feel training fatigue but it's nothing a little coffee and a vape/cigarette can't fix. At the very end of the course you'll get all the paper work you need for submission to obtain your license. The owner, Donovan Beard, will also help answer any questions you have. Mr. Beard sat in for most of our training, though I think this was mostly for Mr. Nichols' benefit since he is a newer instructor. Surprising since it doesn't show. Anyway, 5/5. You'll have your license in no time.
