My daughter attended NDS for four months, during their summer program and the first six weeks of…read morefirst grade. I believe that the teachers at the school are passionate and truly want to teach kids and love the ones that are at the school. However, I feel that due to the way the school is structured, there is an utter lack of continuity and communication between the staff. Very little communication happens between any of them. On three different occasions I had to have a family member or babysitter pick up my child. Every time I told her teacher assuming she could pass the information to the pertinent people, every time the aftercare provider both did not know and really didn't care who was picking up my kid. In the morning before school starts there is only one person watching the kids and it is utter chaos. Children are running around in a hallway, the lunchroom and in another room. Unless you seek out the person in charge of them all, she would have absolutely no idea who was there or not. There are way too many kids for one person to watch. I find this to be true after school as well. There is only one phone for the whole school, which is in the preschool room, it gets monitored by the owner and teacher of preschool kids when he can check the phone. If you have an emergency or need to talk to them right away, your best bet is to go down there. Field trips are a mess. Aside from myself having issues with the two that happened while my daughter went to school there, I know several other parents who don't allow their kids to go unless they can go as well. Overall I find the education program is probably decent and the small class size cap is obviously a bonus. The price is much much lower than what you would pay at other private schools in town as well, but now I think you get what you pay for. I believe that there is a lot of possibility for the school if NDS would get a bit more organized. For my family, the safety concerns at the school outweighed the much reduced cost of their program and we ended up going to another school that costs twice as much and getting twice as much for our money.

I walked around and found one, who did not appear to know anything about his class, and vaguely waved him over to join the other children sitting around. On the third day, I discovered that the children were at the center for only the first 2 hours each afternoon, then taken to a park and left, apparently unsupervised, for the remaining hour. While there, my grandson was bullied, including being physically hit below the belt. After this, he refused to return. I paid $180 for this opportunity for him to learn computer animation, and the result was (possibly) 6 hours of instruction, and his humiliation and physical hurt.
