Before meeting her, we had spoken with several planners and were getting the sense that a Filoli wedding might not be possible within our price range. Before we were about to give up on our dream venue, Elise thankfully took our call. From our very first conversation, she immediately put us at ease and reassured us that we could absolutely create something beautiful within our budget. She was intentional from the beginning, taking the time to genuinely get to know us--our personalities and preferences--before diving into the planning process. Because of that, every idea she presented felt thoughtful, personal, and curated to who we are as a couple. Throughout the year of planning, Elise was attentive, patient, and a joy to collaborate with. There were many times when she'd proactively suggest ways to stay within budget, even when it meant prioritizing us over her own bottom line. That level of integrity and care speaks volumes about her character. On the day of the wedding, I was stressed and anxious (as many brides are!), but having Elise at my side helped me find a sense of calm. She has this grounding presence that lets you know that everything is under control. Somehow, she managed to greet guests as they arrived, oversee every moving part of the event, and still remain by my side whenever I needed her. There were countless "save-the-day" moments. One that stands out: minutes before walking down the aisle, I was frantically trying to handwrite my typed vows onto notecards, hands shaking and overwhelmed. Out of nowhere, Elise stepped in and told us there was a printer on the property and promptly took care of the situation, thoughtfully printing my vows in index-card format so I didn't have to hold a big piece of paper at the altar. It wasn't until the wedding day itself that I fully realized just how much coordination she and her team had handled behind the scenes. She had even thought of small but meaningful touches, like IV hydration packets for our guests. Throughout the evening, I kept thinking, "Wow, Elise really pulled all of this off." Friends and family told us that it was the most beautifully organized and seamlessly executed wedding they had ever attended. Many also commented how stressful it must have been for my husband and me to plan a wedding of such scale and beauty, and I'd laugh and say, "Not at all--that was all Elise!". We gave her a vision, and she handled the rest! Our wedding was truly the best day of our lives, filled with joy and memories we'll cherish forever. And it was largely due to Elise and her team, whose kindness, foresight, and meticulous preparation were evident throughout the entire day. It's really easy to give someone 5 stars when everything goes "perfectly." But sometimes it's when…read morethings don't go exactly as expected that one finds out who really stands out, and in this case it's Erin. To give some context, we recently celebrated our son's first birthday (which is a huge event in our culture) and the initial meetings with Erin were spot on. Her ideas, taste and vision were aligned with mine and I was so excited to work with her. After our initial "idea board" meeting I couldn't stop smiling because the details she had said she would bring to the party were so cute and unique and I couldn't wait to see them brought to life on the big day. Throughout the planning process she was extremely responsive, detail oriented, kind and just awesome in all ways. We also threw her the curveball of working with the schedule of two small children with their naps and she approached it with calm and flexibility. I should also mention that I'm an extremely picky and detail oriented person and lets say I put the "A" in type A personality and am a perfectionist so my expectations are always high. Having said this, on the day of the event the party's timeline, vendors, organizational details, logistics went smoothly. However there were a couple of items that we had discussed at the initial "idea board" that didn't happen and unfortunately they were related to significant cultural and family tradition aspects of the event so suffice to say I was saddened and frankly a bit shocked on what had happened. Mind you that the guests had an awesome time and it was a magical party and no one else noticed except mama bear. Usually at this point it would go downhill with most vendors, but I'm someone who likes to ask people "what happened" when things don't go according to expectations so I contacted Erin. First off, I could tell she was deeply affected and saddened and took it to heart that the event had not met my expectations. What I found impressive was her passion and heart in this party was genuine and she took it personally that I wasn't completely happy. Additionally, at no time was she defensive or coming up with excuses. She listened and asked without prompting "what can I do" and understood where I was coming from. We ended up doing a redo of the missing elements and while not a replacement for what I had wished happened at the party, it ended up being perfect. Additionally her professional conduct, authenticity as an overall sweetheart of a person and personal investment in her events speaks volumes. So would I use Erin again? In a heartbeat yes! If it wasn't clear, she has the most amazing style and taste that really is unique and personal. My husband is the rustic, natural type and I'm the whimsical, styled, elegent type and she was able to combine both. I also know that we ALL make "boo boos" for one reason or another and sometimes things happen and I know I wouldn't want to be defined by something that didn't go quite right. I know that Erin has been in this business since 2008 and based on her other reviews and what I did experience from her she is stellar at what she does but as with all things, sometimes something just falls through the crack and in this case it was some elements from our event. And honestly, I think we were that 1 in a million and any and all future events with Erin would be pefect :) But what defines someone to me is how they react/respond when confronted with it and Erin's response couldn't have been better. So 5 truly deserved stars for Your Event by Erin.

To break everything down, they served pre-ceremony fruit waters. Throughout cocktail hour, the staff passed tray appetizers which were all delicious and received so many compliments from all of our guests. We had stuffed mushrooms, a canape, shrimp, and bruschetta. We were busy taking bridal party photos so the staff coming to serve us where we were was life saving! I looked forward to the mushrooms all day long and I was so grateful to be able to eat a bunch. Again, we still receive compliments about the appetizers to this day. For the reception, we had buffet style which was beautifully set up and quite organized for 100 people. We had the chef slicing and serving tri tip and it just elevated the vibe and made it feel so much more luxurious. I can't say enough how tasty the entrees were. They also set out a fruit and vegetable assortment and self serve drink station - everyone was so well fed and there was plenty of food to go around. Truly, I wish I was a guest at our wedding. The food was so memorable. Other than the food, my personal biggest priority was being as stress free as possible. I cannot commend Gina enough for the support and guidance she gave us. We had several meetings where she helped us plan our wedding from decor to timeline and so much more. I had a day-of coordinator but I do feel that Gina was my biggest support. She has been in the business for over 35 years and has helped with over 8,000 weddings so her guidance and experience was much appreciated. She even suggested some decor changes that honestly made everything look much more seamless. About 90% of our decor was done by elegant occasions and it was just so beautiful. Gina also made sure that my husband and I were well taken care of throughout the reception. All in all, the best decision we could have made was going with Elegant Occasions for our wedding.
