I had my initial consultation on September 22nd and it went very well. I was told I'd be contacted once a plan was made for my 10 year old dog. I have repeatedly contacted them for over 2 months to get things set up. Many of my emails/messages were never even replied to and when they were, there was always an excuse that in the moment seemed plausible. Today, November 29th, there was yet another excuse and I was informed they couldn't take my dog on. I feel like I have been misled every step of the way. I could have already established a relationship elsewhere if I had known but I continued to wait for Sarah's service because she came so highly recommended from my doggy daycare provider. Sarah and her team have been walking our (now dog) for nearly a year. She came highly recommended from our vet. When we got Jack as a puppy, she came to our home and introduced herself and a member of her team. She worked with us as we got our little guy trained and even came multiple times a day. Very disappointing experience. I also had a hard time connecting despite using the online booking services. This should have been an indication to move on. I stuck with it and eventually had a consultation which went well and was encouraging. I chose Sarah's because I am essential and need to be at work in all kinds of weather and circumstances so it was important to me to have a reliable dog walker. We signed up for hikes for the big dog and pee breaks for the smaller dog. The reports were very positive initially and it seemed like a match but my pups became more and more skeptical of the walker as things progressed. The little one hid from "animal behaviorist" Ryan and the larger one apparently became more agitated. I would have anticipated that the dogs would become more comfortable with him over time but the opposite happened. They send you a text with photos after the hike along with feedback which is nice but it's really a one way communication. I would occasionally reply with questions or suggest strategies in an effort to collaborate but only got a reply maybe once. I requested a few overnights online to cover a trip and no reply for weeks, followed up with a phone call, nothing for another week, had already booked at a boarding facility by the time I heard back a couple weeks later. I was considering other options as I was coming to the conclusion that Sara's was not a match for us. I thought there would be some kind of respectful transition. After a few months of using their services, paying on time and collaborating strategies (the few times I was able to have a two way conversation) the owner abruptly asked me to have someone else walk my dog the following day in an email sent at 1045 at night. So I woke at 5am with a 12hr hospital shift ahead scrambling to cover the dogs for the day and figure out what to do moving forward. After letting her know how appalled I was at her sudden discontinuation of services she offered a leash walk for the day. I can't imagine emailing someone at 1045 at night (when they are likely sleeping) and telling them I didn't want to take care of their grandmother the next day. Im glad others have had a positive experience with Sarah's pet service. I did not. read more

I have used Sarah's Pet Services to schedule pet sitting visits for my hedgehog. As you may be able to guess, it is difficult to secure pet sitting for exotic pets, but Sarah was very willing to learn about exotic pets and find out more about their care. She sends updates during visits by email and makes sure that I have returned at the end of each trip and her job is done. She also leaves notes detailing how each visit went. Sarah and her staff were truly lifesavers for my family and me. We had an unexpected death in our family the week before Thanksgiving and needed to find care for our elderly Aussie immediately. Sarah and her team do a tremendous job! Our puppy Marcella has been taken care of by them since we got her at 2 months. She jumps with joy when Noam picks her up for the off leash romps with her buddies and she comes home happy and tired. I needed a walker for my pup while I was away and the pup was at my sister's in Northampton. I was in tears talking to dog walkers thinking the worst and even was about to cancel my trip but after hearing about her from a friend, Sarah took such care to explain her business practices to me and made me feel so calm about leaving my baby in the hands of one of her employees. Three different walkers came to meet my dog within my tight schedule on a *Sunday* so that I knew who could be walking her if it couldn't be the same person each day. It ended up being John each day and he was awesome! My sister was home once when he came in and she said my dog flew to him with a fast wagging tail and lots of kisses! John's updates and photos made my day each day. He was also super quick to reply to me. The most important thing was that he really respected that my dog is not awesome with other dogs all of the time and my request, for everyone's safety, to keep her away from other dogs while I am away.
