Jacquies is a neighbourhood staple, if the amount of customers passing through at 11 am on a weekday morning is anything to go by. The shop assistant carries on conversations at length with people of all ages coming in, which adds to the warmth and small-town feel of the place. Most importantly though, all of the veg here is outstanding - most of it looks fake to me, it's so perfect. Although produce at Jacquies costs a bit more than your average Asda fare, it's worth paying a bit more for fruit and veg that is far superior in size and quality.

These cross sections of cucumbers and apples can be looked through to see the grand Millennium Stadium beyond. If you're a fan of keeping your carbon footprint as small as possible, then this is the place for you. All of the products on sale here are very high quality and extremely local. It also has craft stores and flowers and really, really good coffee. We used to buy meat directly from the farm when we used to put on weekend events at Coed hills Rural Artspace last year. John used to rock up in his old pick-up and drop it off for us, saving us the hassle of going to collect. But, I guess this suited him to... he is really friendly with the owner of Coed Hills and so he used to stop off for a cup of tea and a chin wag as well. Nothing compares to the taste of organic meat... it's in a league of its own. If you have never tried it then I roundly recommend that you ignore the price tag, and give it a go! I believe that you can call in at the farm to buy your meat as there was talk of a farm shop over a year ago. If not, you can always go to one of several farmers markets and buy your organic meat from there.
