Me and the boyf have been determined to buy all our fruit and veg from here because it's yummy and local and they're the only one I know of that accept Bristol pounds. We are starting to juice too and this would be costing a lot more if we were buying from a supermarket. These cross sections of cucumbers and apples can be looked through to see the grand Millennium Stadium beyond. If you're a fan of keeping your carbon footprint as small as possible, then this is the place for you. All of the products on sale here are very high quality and extremely local. It was perfect for a lazy, sunny, Sunday. I have to admit I didn't end up buying much apart from bread and cakes, but they did have a huge selection of cheeses and deli style foods across the 30 odd stalls. It also has craft stores and flowers and really, really good coffee. This is probably not the place for people on a budget to do the weekly shop but a great place to pick up some really special ingredients and a fantastic way to spend an afternoon away from the city centre. We used to buy meat directly from the farm when we used to put on weekend events at Coed hills Rural Artspace last year. John used to rock up in his old pick-up and drop it off for us, saving us the hassle of going to collect. But, I guess this suited him to... he is really friendly with the owner of Coed Hills and so he used to stop off for a cup of tea and a chin wag as well. Nothing compares to the taste of organic meat... it's in a league of its own. If you have never tried it then I roundly recommend that you ignore the price tag, and give it a go! I believe that you can call in at the farm to buy your meat as there was talk of a farm shop over a year ago. If not, you can always go to one of several farmers markets and buy your organic meat from there.
