I'd say you get what you pay for here, but that wouldn't be entirely true--this salon, while boasting relatively low prices, makes up the prices for each client. There's no way my medium-length nails (that protrude no more than 1cm beyond my fingertips) could reasonably cost $12 more than the listed price for a sloppy full set. I have many grievances with this salon: -my husband called ahead to book an appointment for me as it was a Friday and the person did not ask for a name or any information beyond "What you want? What time?" -Once arrived for my appointment, it was as if nobody had even written down the appointment--I had to repeat the entire thing in person. -The aesthetician who did my pedicure was fine in terms of service but I was very grossed out to find they RE-USE the little foam slippers for EVERY customer. They're just all sitting in a bucket behind the pedi chairs. -While I was seated to wait for my nails to be done, I was moved from chair to chair, not once but twice to make room for customers coming in for walk-in services (may I point out again that I had an appointment and they weren't even prepared for me, but were for other customers??) It turned out I was also waiting on the owner to have her lunch. -When I explained (again, should not have had to--communication between the employees seems to only be gossip) that I wanted a full set with gel polish, the owner vaguely gestured to the wall and said "pick colour" then left me sitting in the chair for about 10 more minutes while she went off to do a waxing job. -Sarah, the owner of this fine establishment, finally started my nails and while buffing them, managed to nick EVERY single cuticle and the skin surrounding the nail. I would react with a polite "ouch" and received no apology. Ten times in a row. -Finally I asked to double-check if the polish I'd chosen was indeed gel--because that's the service I asked for--and she said, clearly annoyed, "Oh, you don't want this one?" and left to retrieve a gel polish in a similar colour. -While curing my polish, she insisted that I must have done something under the UV light to disturb the nails and instead of redoing it or grabbing another lamp, she tsked and slopped on more polish, which looks ridiculous now. -Several times, she got up during my session to serve another customer. Funny, since I seemed to wait for her to finish up a lot of tasks but couldn't keep her attention during my (booked) time. -Finally, I reminded her I needed a brow wax, as I had previously booked (are we seeing a pattern here?) and I got that done, which I was actually happy with, and the only reason I even gave this place 2 stars. Problem is she said "for you, $77" for services that should not have cost more than $65 according to their price list. Reluctantly I handed over the money as I didn't feel like arguing over twelve bucks and wanted to get out of there after spending 2.5 hours in this hellhole. It was a miracle I had extra cash on me. Needless to say, I did not offer gratuity. TL;DR- Come for the stellar $5 eyebrow wax, skip everything else and spend the extra cash at a better nail salon like Polish'd downtown or Nail Story in Newmarket. It's worth it for not only the WAY better service but a much nicer atmosphere as well. read more

Very disappointed, went today to have my usual manicure, pedicure, shellac, and waxing and left soon into the pedicure. All metal tools used need to be sterilized between uses and all pumice stones are one time use as they can spread bacteria....THIS WAS NOT DONE. I had to remind the girl before she used any implement to get a sterilized one. When informed about the pumice stone, she asked if I wanted to BUY one for today's use. I've been going there for years and never had an issue until today and will never go back as I do not wish to get a blood born disease such as Hep A, Hep B, HIV, etc. Will be reporting them to the health department tomorrow. Don't believe me about the sterilization, look it up and do your homework. EDIT: Report made to Toronto Public Health read more

I've been going to this place for a couple of years now. Pros: good nail polish collection, affordable prices, SOME nice employees Cons: very tiny space for the amount of business they get ..the place gets packed easily, waiting time ..you can wait anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, the owner talks/yells at the other employees while she does your eyebrows, they're raising their prices Bottom line ..you get what you pay for, cheap prices means cheap service. If they raise their prices higher I'm taking my business else where. read more

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. Absolute worst experiences here with employees who value getting paid over doing a good job and I don't know why I ever bothered to keep coming back and give Sarah's more chances than it deserved. For starters, THE SETTING. This tiny little cramped salon is way too small for the undeserved heaps of business it receives. The odour ranges from mild to unbearable and it heats up easily on hot summer days full of sweaty costumers waiting for their turn. They are awful when it comes to mixing appointments and walk ins and cannot keep track of any of their clients. Cleanliness is a huge problem here. The lady who waxes is god awful. Rather than going patch by patch she'll cover, say, your entire arm in wax before using a waxing strip - the same strip she'll continue to use over and over again - all over removing basically nothing. I never realized how serious double-dipping and such was when it came to wax but now that I've read up on it I will never return here again. They don't even do a great job and you'll left with uneven patches of hair everywhere, and god forbid you ask for her to go over them or she'll give you hell. They're basically just trying to get through everyone as fast as possible so they can pack up and close for the night with wads of cash from vulnerable ladies who don't know any better. If you're looking to get your nails or toes done here, FORGET IT. Unclean, unprofessional, you'll be waiting hours even if you made an appointment and the employees will talk shit about you with one another the whole time you're there. Their prices may be cheap but that's exactly what you'll receive, cheap and shitty service from so called "professionals" who will do nothing but take your money and let you go without providing even half of what you paid for. Take your money and go some place else, even if more pricey, if you're actually looking to get what you're paying for. Try across the street by the bakery, it is far better by a longs hot. Rating: 0/10!!!! read more

Went for a simple removal - this place is nasty. They ripped off my nails which I could've done for free and i started bleeding. It was painful and even when I told them to stop they continued to rip them off and tried to charge me full price. They put clear coat over my blood and redipped it into the bottle. So if you go there, you'll probably be in contact with other people's blood. Also this place has no AC and looks disgusting and unsanitary. read more

I came here to get my acrylic nails removed. I usually take them off myself but it takes time and effort. I thought I'd get it off professionally with minimal damage to my nails underneath. Should have done it myself. The girl who was taking them off RIPPED the middle part of MY NAIL OFF. Literally. Hurt very bad, still does. Now, I know we all make mistakes. It happens. But she offered to cover it up with nail polish. I had to explain that, that is not a good idea since it needs to breath and heal. And!!!!! they made me pay full price. !!!! Honestly, I was expecting them to say that I didnt have to pay or even give a discount but nope. Paid in full. I didnt want to argue so I didn't say anything and just left. NEVER going back, Find a better place. read more

I was so scared to get my brows waxed at a nail salon but Sarah, the wonder, DID AMAZING!! She listened to everything I wanted (I'm picky) and she did amazing! 4 out of 5 stars only because they need a proper paper roll on their bed! read more

Ladies, THE ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE YOU CAN GO TO! Just finished my manicure with shellac and pedicure with my bestfriend and was told to never go back there again! My nails were a total mess, I asked them to clean them up TWICE and they are still a mess! I'm leaving for vacation with horrible nails, they made me pay knowing that my nails did not look nice at all! I've been going to this place for 10+ years and this is how I get treated! The only one I recommend there is Quang for gel or acrylic nails! I'm literally shook at how poorly I was treated. To top it all off, when I asked the ladies nicely to clean my nails they both did not say a word to me and instantly started speaking in their own language about my nails. read more
