Really, really wanted to love this place. The pedicure I had was fine. I also had a previous nail polish taken off of my nails, so the total came to $35. The employee doing my nails quizzed me on how I found the spot, and I admitted I had read reviews online. I asked why they didn't have a website; she said it takes too much time (fair enough). I suggested posting even an image of a price list online as I know that's important. So, for reference, I paid $35 for a spa pedi & shellac removal (paid in cash). They were accommodating in allowing me to start early. I chose my polish and sat down. They use OPI and Essie. The location itself was very clean. They were playing the loop of the gag videos (why is this a thing?!). I was asked if I wanted a razor (yes, please). After I told the staff member that I am active, she proceeded to tell me multiple times that I "cannot" wear running shoes that evening. I've never had a salon flat out tell me to just not wear shoes, ever. I get that it can scuff, but a properly applied basic pedicure should stick - especially if using quality nailpolish like OPI! On a positive note, everything appeared sanitary. Otherwise, the employee was a bit aggressive in trying to upsell me to other things. I'm old school in that part of the experience is feeling relaxed, and I felt on edge. Plus, the constant "no shoes" comments bothered me. Had a gel mani/pedi here last week for the first time. Super professional, easy to get an appointment, kind technicians, clean place. Technicians took their time with my nails, constantly asked me if I liked the colour, how many coats of shellac I wanted, if I was comfortable, etc. Really a pleasant surprise to find a nice salon in Queen's Quay - it's not currently known for its storefronts. Borderline 4.5/5 just because they don't have a website currently to look up prices beforehand, but they were pretty standard for Toronto salons, I thought. My nails look fantastic! read more

Beautiful work!! It's tough to find a good nail spot when you are traveling. I totally scored on this spot. They talked me out of a more expensive powder manicure based on the look I wanted. And for that alone I appreciate that they are honest and not money hungry. I have been coming to this location to get my nails done for years. I was initially disappointed to learn that ownership had changed, but as it turns out, I like the spa even better now! The staff do SUCH a good job; I never feel as though my manicures/pedicures are rushed. And, even though I am only there about once a month, they remember not only me but the colours I've gotten on previous visits! I usually go to Helen, Ben or Theresa...all are great! I definitely recommend calling ahead, especially on weekends...this place can get pretty busy! read more

Currently giving this place 2 stars because I called for an appointment twice - no one answered - and so I take an uber to walk in - and the lady turns me away saying they are all booked up for the day and I should have called. Don't put a sign up that says "walk ins" welcome when that's not the case and answer your phone if you want people to make appointments. This is my new go to place. Great environment, clean, amazing service and perfectly polished nails every time. Really friendly and expert staff who genuinely care about doing a perfect job with high quality products. Recommend the paraffin pedi treatment as a nice treat. Also nice to have a Starbucks next door to get your latte to sip during your service. I've been getting my nails done in Toronto at dozens of salons for the last 10+ years and this is among the very best - including higher end spas. The quality of the mani is very poor, but the most annoying thing is that the quality of the product they work with is extremely poor too. I did shellac, half moon wich was supposed to be light-brown and white. In three days after that the light-brown went green!!! They started telling me it was my fault, maybe some chemicals used. No chemicals, morons!!! I use dishwasher and a vacuum cleaner! And I do shellac, because I want it last more than 3 days! Finally they refused to redo the nails. It was my last time there. I always have a great experience here! There are a number of nail salons in the area (one right in my condo building|) but I always make the walk to Rite Spa. I always get a pedicure and shellac manicure. The staff are friendly, skilled and speedy! The salon is super clean and they never overbook, always sticking to their appointment schedule which I appreciate. I would suggest calling ahead to make an appointment to avoid being turned away because they can quickly get fully booked during peak times. read more

I came here for the first time today with my girlfriend for a mani-pedi session. Despite living in City Place, I never knew there was a nail salon down at Queens Quay until I walked passed it this morning when dropping off my dog for her grooming appointment at Cosmopawlitan. The service is the first thing I will comment on because the costumer service here is off the charts. I've been to many Vietnamese-owned nail salons and this one here truly impressed me. The girls here joked and laughed with me and my girlfriend and unlike other Vietnamese-owned salons, I really felt like they were actually paying attention to what they're doing - getting my nails done right. The girl I had also did an exceptional job at doing my nails (sorry, I don't know her name). She was really detail-oriented and really took her time doing her job! She made sure everything was perfect before she let me go. My mani-pedi was $40 (with an additional $5 charge because I had shellac on previously) and I was given a 10% discount! Very good price for a job well done + awesome customer service! This will for sure be my new go-to place when I need mani-pedi sessions! read more

This place is overpriced and understaffed. They took two hours for a mani/pedi at least the first three times I went. One of those times I also got my eyebrows waxed, and the woman burnt my face. I provided pictures of the burn and asked for a refund, and went back in, and they told me they would not provide me any refund. Not only that, but were very rude on the phone and hung up! I have been a loyal customer of Rite Spa, ever since they first opened their doors. As a fashion and lifestyle blogger for Cheryl in the City, I am constantly scouring the streets of Toronto for new up and coming shops and beauty bars that offer their clientele nothing but quality products and services as well as phenomenal customer service. The owner Helen, and her nail technicians are always professional, courteous and extremely skilled at their craft. They will do whatever is in the best interest of the client and will often providing tips and best practices on proper nail care. I remember bringing a friend in once for the second time to Rite Spa, she mentioned that her nails were somewhat brittle and thin and asked the owner if she should remove the shellac and let her nail rest or if doing more shellac would be ok. The owner, Helen, looked at her nails, she said we will remove the shellac and give you a treatment to strengthen your finger nails, then (if you want) you can take this treatment home and keep applying it daily for 2 weeks. Once your nails are stronger, come back and we can do shellac, but for now, I suggest you let them rest. Most salons will not be this forthright with you, and will often suggest that you continue doing the nail procedures because it would benefit the salon. However, Helen and her staff are incredibly honest and sincerely care about their client's well being. I myself, have experienced her incredible genuineness. My right big toe will hurt usually the 3rd week after a pedicure or if I happen to wear a lot of narrow toed shoes continuously between pedicures. This is what I thought (for 5 years) was due to an ingrown toe nail that constantly needed attending to. However, Helen told me that it was in fact not an ingrown. It was a skin that was just growing under the nail, but once removed relief would be experienced immediately! (so no more digging around and no more cutting my toe nail to the brink of non-existence)! If you haven't already visited, I highly recommend trying out this cute little nail boutique. I believe it is only $35-$40 + tax for a regular mani-pedi. Unlike other salons that offer services within the same price point, Rite Spa is always guaranteed to be clean, friendly and gentle with their patron's nails. They don't use razors (not sure if they would if you asked, but it is definitely not something they recommend - in fact they strongly advise against it because it offers only a temporary solution - the skin will grow back thicker in the area where the razor is used). They also use disposable plastic covers in their pedicure bassinettes to ensure cleanliness. Hygiene is clearly top of mind for this salon and I'm sure ALL of their patron's thoroughly appreciate this. Definitely a favourite spot of mine for my monthly pedicure treatments! P.S. Starbucks is just a few doors down, grab a nice cold/hot beverage before your visit to Rite Spa and let yourself be pampered at the hands of true nail professionals. - Cheryl read more

I would not recommend this spa at all. I rated 1 star but frankly they do not even rate that. I had never been to the salon before so called asking about what their different services entailed given I had picked up one of their cards with pricing walking by their salon one day. I had wanted to enquire that day what each of the services were but they were very busy and the one person I did get the card from tell me they only shared that information with clients so ask when I booked an appointment. Fair enough!!!! I wanted to try them out today so called to make an appointment for nail / pedicure service but was not sure which service to choose. The first individual I talked too did not understand what I was asking so another individual came on the phone. Her first response was where was I calling from and then she told me she was very busy with clients so she was not talking to me now and hung up on me. First impressions are everything and this place just doesn't cut it. I have actually given them 2 chances. With so many of these nail salons all over the downtown core and within walking distance of the Harbourfront, my business will go elsewhere. Good Luck to anyone who chooses this salon.
