I went to the gym with Sarah because I wanted to check out her Sarah-toning levels. You know the one - Sarah N Dipity. Cute little convenience store that reminds me of New York City up in a nice leafy neighbourhood of the north suburbs of Chicago. It's right on the corner right where it should be so you could call it a corner store if you like. Prices are inevitably higher than they would be at a Walmart but wouldn't you rather give your money to people that live in the community? It's cute and well worth a stop. read more

They frequently sell alcohol, incluidng that with a very high alcohol content (13.9% abv for a canned beverage) to teenagers, including recently to 14 year olds!! Wow. One of the weirdest and most aggravating experiences at a corner store. As I go to grab a bottle of craft beer, guy behind the counter tell me that I need to buy a 6 pack of beer from the same company. And that the limit is one. Ok, no big deal. Never mind that they only have one option when it comes to six packs from that same brand (4 hands). What kind of selection is that? But the worst is when I go to pay. Guy is pissed at me because he claims that I was in his store last night. Sorry buddy, this is my first time in your store, ever. I try to tell him that it's my first time in his store, but he isn't having it. He claims that he looked on his surveillance video but won't show me when I ask. Hey, not all Asians look the same you racist pos. I will probably go back again since they have things that are sold out everywhere else. Really great people and resource for the area. If you're looking for a discount go to Costco. This is a convenience store. I'm willing to pay extra so that I don't have to get in my car, go to Costco, park, troll the isles, wait in line & then go home. The owners have a few stores and rotate the staff. The staff are very warm and friendly, which makes me look forward to shopping here. I mostly go for cigars, wine & candy. read more

I love this little store on the corner from where we live. They have some of the most random and great stuff. Some can be a little on the pricey side compared to grocery stores but it's a convenience store. Kind of what one would expect, plus it's cheaper than the ones you'd find in the highrises. Sure, it's a bit overpriced. But there's no difference between this place and what you'd pay at say a 7-11. And the fact that it is not a 7-11 is a very nice thing for the neighborhood. Just came from this spot. I was about to buy a beer about $10 over market value when the cashier told me that I needed to buy an additional bottle of beer ($17 bottle of old stock third coast ale) that was overpriced and that nobody wanted in order to buy the bottle I originally wanted. Naturally, I left without question but I couldn't believe this guy wanted to make me buy another bottle of beer I didn't want to be able to buy the beer I wanted. Please don't ever come here. They're cheap liars and they make you buy products you didn't intend to buy in order to buy what you wanted to initially. read more

The Sarah Mart is a good neighborhood convenience store. The cold beer selection is really good, wine selection is ok and they have all the little things you forgot to get for the backyard BBQ when you were at Mariano's. Yes the prices are a bit higher than a grocery store, but you are paying for the convenience. I would like to see them improve their cold sparkling wine selection. The options aren't great and a prosecco would be nice. read more

Prices are higher than average, but it is an independant city convnience shop. The real reason for this rating/review is something other reviewers already mentioned. That in order to purchase certain beers the dude behind the counter said I had to purchase other things I did not want in order to buy what I did. This is extortion ,and true, the shop owner can technically sell things however he wants to; it seems a bad business practice to force customers to buy things they don't want to get what they do. If I ever end up back there and face a similar situation, I feel mildly inclined to purchse the extra beer(s), crack them open on the spot and spray the unwanted booze all over the place! j/k, but I do feel this guy is an underhanded business man and does not deserve our communities support. read more
