Absolutely diabolical. Took my one year old daughter to a 'doctor' to have her chest checked as a…read moresuspected chest infection. Both times we were advised that her chest was clear but I could give her an antibiotic "if I wanted to" - sorry who's the doctor here? Two weeks later we went back as the cough still hadn't cleared up to which the doctor advised my daughter had a squint in her eyes and gave her an inhaler to see if that helped. The following day I took her to the QEUH children's hospital and confirmed chest infection left untreated and required a strong dose of antibiotics. I was strongly advised by the hospital not to give her an inhaler as babies shouldn't be given inhalers for coughs. I should also mention, I was left waiting over an hour on both occasions in a waiting room with a one year old, potentially sick baby. We have phoned numerous times to speak with the practice manager, 4 weeks later, still waiting on a call back. Will not be returning, as I have lost all faith in this practice.

I have been a patient at this practice for many many years and in particular Dr Leggate is just…read morelovely she is very understanding and a great listener but I need to say that over the years I have seen a few different Dr's but I always like to see Dr Leggate or Dr Grant who a lovely Dr too. Also the receptionists are a amazing always very helpful and kind, and nothing is ever to much trouble for them. I wouldn't want to ever change my Dr's they and also the nurses are all fantastic. Keep up the good work everyone at the practice. My reason for leaving this review is I truly think the Dr's, Nurses and receptionists are all due a massive thank you for keeping their thousands of patients as safe and healthy as possible recently I have had a couple of referrals and to my surprise I was seen pretty quickly. The surgery it's self is spotlessly clean. I did this review because I want others to know my 5 star ratings are well deserved, I rate this practice a cut above other practices because the Dr's actually listen to what I have to say they take the time to explain exactly what the problem is and they just make me feel at ease which then makes me feel at ease and more able to explain myself properly. This has been our GPs surgery for years now and we've used it a fair bit (having three kids does…read morethat to you...) It can be a pain in the neck getting an appointment in the morning as it's the standard "keep ringing until it's not engaged" tactic although on one occasion we did explain - once we got through - that it was one of our younger children who was ill. The receptionist took our details and a doctor rang back very shortly after to arrange a shorter-notice appointment. Can't tell you how much we appreciated that. We've dealt with three or four of the medical staff and I can comfortably state that their bedside manner is superb. Rarely, if ever, have we felt rushed out the door and they've always been happy to really *discuss* problems, not just throw a simple solution at you and hope it sticks. If this is your local doctor's office then you're lucky. They really are good. I've knocked the one star off my review purely for the telephone appointment lottery.
