I had to wipe it off and use my own lipstick. Also, my hairstyle didn't even last an hour after being done. I had to have my bridesmaids completely curl my hair again, which was stressful because it was time consuming. For the price charged, I felt like the hairstyle should've lasted longer than it did. I felt that whenever I showed Karla my hair inspirations on Pinterest, she more often than not told me how it wouldn't work on me, rather than try to help me achieve the hairstyle I wanted. It was a bit demotivating. Overall, I did like my makeup, but I had to make tweaks to really be happy. My hair had to be completely redone. They were very nice while doing my makeup but nice is not the service I paid for- it was for professional makeup. I truly felt that it would have been better if I did my own makeup. She did not look closely at any of the 5 pictures I sent and I actually looked and felt like a clown. I wanted a soft Korean look with not much around the eyes and it was the opposite- glitter on top of glitter, lots of stuff going around the eyes that I did not want. The hair was bad too. It was literally just a bun with a bunch of hairspray after splitting my hair. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction in the middle, she just said it's because she didn't put airbrush on me. But even after all of that it didn't look anything like what I wanted. I went home after and cried before putting on my dress because I looked like a disaster, it was nothing like what I wanted, and was my worst nightmare as a bride and it wasn't cheap either. Also felt they were forcing tip at the end because she kept mentioning to check payment when I already fully paid. Theirs were all unfortunately much further. I knew we had many stylists local to me. I found Perla through the Grand yelp page. I saw her photos and felt she could replicate the style I envisioned for myself. Setting up my appointment was fairly easy and she seemed personable via text message. Now it is my duty to report on my entire experience. We had a bit of a setback with our timing. Our time didn't start until nearly 20minutes post schedule, but hey things happen. Moving on. Our time was a pleasant experience. She listened intently to what I wanted and offered suggestions. She educated me on products and what to do and what not to do to create certain looks. She was extremely attentive and knew her craft well. I feel our personalities vibed well too. Like chatting with an old friend. I'm big on the small things. I mean there's a certain expectation from the consumer's point of view when you pay for services--well what stands out is those little steps taken to ensure you're satisfied. Perla definitely did that. She made sure my neck was extra comfortable In the wash bowl (she would fluff the towel beneath me numerous times). she made sure I had plenty of wine to get thru our visit. she gave me an awesome scalp massage! She even hands-on taught me how to curl my hair vs leaving me up shit's creek without a paddle. she comp'd me a treatment to make up for our time conflict earlier. And that really meant something to me -- that she apologized and addressed the issue with me directly and offered to resolve it. Integrity is the word that comes to mind. She even guaranteed her color work by a revision within a certain time frame if I felt it warranted. And the end result--a beautiful cut and color that I truly loved. I am not just a happy camper, I'm a happy camper with really cute hair.

It wasn't until I I started searching yelp that I came across Perla's profile. I can definitely say that Perla earned that license. As Perla went over her pricing structure, which was better than at least half of the stylists I did test runs with. Finally, I was beginning to realize this process did not have to be stressful I got the hair I wanted done right, the first time. I could start by saying how friendly and professional Perla is and continue by saying how accommodating and knowledgeable about trends and products as well, but for me the most important thing is her raw talent. I'm not sure if having blue hair is a sign of that? Perla's hair is very blue, sometimes. Talented would be the best word to describe her abililities, talent with a T. When I finished medical school, I felt that some of the other physicians that graduated, had it and some of them didn't. It's the exact same thing with the football players that my husband watches, some of them are great and some of them just try too hard.
