They also have computers, printers, and a fax machine available for anyone with a current library card. They offer two story times every week. The storytime last 30 minutes and the staff have a fun time singing nursery rhymes, while the children and parents are able to sing along and perform the movements together for each rhyme! The children's area has child size chairs and tables where they can sit and read books, or have books read to them. The staff are all friendly and very helpful!

Working downtown can be a bit fun if you can just walk to one place with a food court during lunch or you just need to grab something quick lunch a drink or even personal item. The building is always clean and I even see people doing the mall walking thing to get their steps in. The 1st street entrance on the bottom floor even has a Mail Drop off. I like to go to the other side to get to main and Boston because it takes you to a courtyard. Another fun perk by the food court is outdoor balcony seating. I discovered it a little too late in the season, but when it warms up, I cannot wait to enjoy it and get some fresh air while viewing the Tulsa skyline.

What a great photo op spot! The pump sits right outside on the grounds of Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to check out the museum because it was closed by the time we got here. I did however get some exterior photos of it. I didn't get to touch the pump because it's behind a wired fence. I did have some fun when taking photos of it though. Please be careful when walking on the rocks as you get closer towards the pump. It was a very quick visit for us. Probably no more than 10 minutes. If I ever get a chance to come back, I will make sure I get here in time to check out the museum.

You can't miss it from the parking area of the Heart of Route 66 Museum. The cylinder-topped pump is an skyscraping replica of the type commonly in use when Route 66 became a national highway in 1926. The pump was originally designed to include a spiral staircase and observation deck, which had to be scrapped as too complicated for the mostly volunteer crew that built it. It is behind a chain link fence and no, it does not actually pump gas. [Review 16247 overall - 84 in Oklahoma - 1753 of 2021.]

Truss bridges were…read moredeveloped in the mid-1800s and used extensively until World War II, when technology changed and more standardized concrete designs were developed. Route 66 travelers who crossed Rock Creek near Sapulpa during the late 1920s would have thought the bridge the most dynamic design of its time, and it was. Constructed in 1924, #18 served as part of the old Ozark Trail, one of the few marked U. S. roads at the time. It became part of Route 66 in 1926. Just over a decade later the State's entire section of Route 66 was paved. The bridge served Route 66 until the construction of a new alignment in 1952. The bridge was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It looks quite rusted and while it is open to vehicular traffic, I opted not to drive across. This district spans from Peoria to Utica on 11th Street between Midtown and Downtown that offers trendy retail shopping and great dining options. Streets were clean and well attended. What a gem... you get the best of both worlds! Be ready to get your shops, your sips, and your bites. So happy my eldest daughter and I got a chance to have an adventure in discovering all five Giants during our Route 66 Centennial Celebration road trip in the Midwest. Who are the 5 Giants you ask? Let me share... 1. Buck Atom Space Cowboy: A 21-foot-tall space cowboy statue that started the trend outside Buck Atom's Cosmic Curios on 66. Handsome Buck! 2. Stella Atom Space Cowgirl: Of course, she is Buck's 19-foot-tall space-cowgirl companion. Gorgeous Stella! 3. Meadow Gold Mack: A 20-foot-tall original 1960s friendly lumberjack statue located at the Meadow Gold Mack's Route 66 Outpost. Sharp looking mack! 4. Cowboy Bob: A giant guitar-playing cowboy. Cool cowboy! 5. Rosie the Riveter: A giant statue inspired by Tulsa native Naomi Parker Fraley, tied to the iconic WWII poster. Nice looking lady! Iconic Meadow Gold sign was a cool photo op! We didn't stay here long enough to see it light up in the evening. I'm sure it is a pretty sight. Love the outdoor murals and wall art at the heart of the community. A must visit for photo ops and all!

This place was my introduction to the Meadow Gold District. It's a small gift store set inside a former old time Route 66 gas station and it's loaded with great Route 66 and Tulsa souvenirs. Highly recommended. Reason 2: Decopolis. If you love the Art Deco era, this store is a must visit. In addition to a fantastic ever changing inventory of great contemporary merchandise for sale, there is a wonderful permanent display of collectible household items from the Art Deco years. I particularly love the collection of colorful celluloid radios. Reason 3: Meadow Gold Mack. This place is another must visit for me whenever I'm in Tulsa. There are a whole bunch of local artists that display their work in little booths here. Really wonderful works celebrating both Oklahoma in general and Tulsa specifically. My favorite booth here is 3 Bulls Upcycling. You've got to see their robots and rayguns! Reason 4: Buck's Vintage on 66. If you love high quality vintage Western Wear, I recommend a visit. Way more than just a great clothing selection, they also have an attractive assortment of vintage Western collectibles. This last reason only applies from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, because those are the business hours of Reason 5: Baloney Maroney. This little food trailer is located in the parking lot of Buck Atom's and by itself is reason enough to visit the Meadow Gold District. I mean, even if you have no interest in any of the other places mentioned above, you need to check this place out. The Smoked Baloney sandwich I had here was the best sandwich I had in the first quarter of 2026 and is officially in the running for my personal Sandwich of The Year. Now, just because you were cool enough to read this far, I'm going to offer up one more reason to visit the Meadow Gold District! Bonus Reason: All of the above places are within two or three blocks of each other. You can park for free right next to the big Meadow Gold Diary sign and easily walk to all of these great little places. Mikey C says: damn, forgot to mention the giant advertising icons.
