Public Service Company of Oklahoma - Less than one block away, my house lies without power but PSO will turn on power to closed businesses like Burger King and Arby's.

On the 17th of June, Oklahoma had a wind storm that sped from 70 to some places, over 100mph. It was so strong and long, that meteorologists have given it a specific name. There are many different types of wind but this one has been classified a "derecho." This felt like a tornado and the destruction was, in my opinion, greater than one. EVERY single person I've asked, has gotten power; two days ago. There is currently a newborn at the house that needed to eat "right now!" But there was no cold breast milk in the fridge because my power still isn't on. My gf and I have been cranky, especially me. When I'm conditioned to having cold drinks and cold ac, it becomes a necessity to life. Being told my electric should've been on at 11pm on the 22nd and it not being, has been more irritating. I called a few hours after that and they had changed it to 5pm, 18 hours later, the next day. With PSO having help from a countless number of other states, it should've been on days ago. The news said today has record heat levels and high humidity with stroke levels... Also, how am I even supposed to pay for my electric, if I can't access my computer with all my passwords? Not only have they done all that for the past week, they have been just very rude for the past year. At the beginning of the year, I forgot that I hadn't paid my bill for a month, so they talked on 2 or 3 hundred dollars past due. A month after that, they just turned my power off while I was waiting for a check, TO ACTUALLY PAY THEM. I literally communicated with them about this before they had shut it off. A few weeks ago, a lady from PSO called me about checking the insulation in my attic. We set the date to be on Thursday, the 22nd of June. Replacing the insulation would save electricity for me and their company. Nobody has called me. I can't find the number. Calling PSO, doesn't help because they have no idea what I'm talking about. Now explain to me, why they are worth more than one star.

Used to be u could just walk in, stand in line and pay ur bill. Now tho, they have set up some security checkpoint and once ur past that then they have some idiocy with having to type in a phone number or name to get a number. Works if u have more than a few people standing around but otherwise just another waste of money and time. They also got rid of the free 30 minute parking that was in front of the building in exchange for larger curbs. City of Tulsa easily the LEAST customer friendly business downtown. City government here the worst in the state overall.

Going way back, Tulsa was "Indian Territory" when the Native American tribes were relocated here by the US government. Much of modern Tulsa is located in the Creek Nation with parts located in the Cherokee and Osage Nation. Growing from a small frontier town to a proper boomtown with the discovery of oil. Many wildcatters and investors flooded the city and the town began to take shape. Of course, Oklahoma became a state in 1907 and then the Texaco oil refinery started in 1910. What would American history be without a race riot? There was a terrible one here in 1921 that deserves mention. Since the 1980s, the economy here has diversified away from a petroleum-based economy and brought in customer service and reservation call centers with a number of banks and Internet firms. Okay, enough history. Why four stars? The roads are bumpy. The construction is everywhere. There is nearly zero going on in downtown after office hours. Traffic in downtown is nonexistent. But the parking is free from 5PM until 8AM which rocks. And it's sure quiet which has its advantages. Hopefully, Tulsa can encourage more lofts and condos into downtown which will bring more development. I enjoyed my stay here. Looking forward to a return perhaps.

It was originally 9 stories, 4 more stories were added shortly after completion. It was supposed to complement (not compete visually with) the Philtower. A tunnel connects the two buildings. It had naturalistic motifs outside and inside (flowers, vines, and animals). The penthouse was added in 1937 as Waite Phillips' primary residence. The rooms have hardwood paneled walls and ornate decorative Art Deco details. Besides it's awesome historical significance, it is where Mod's coffee and crepes is located as well as the awesome Deco District shops (Picklesworth, The Bookerie, Okie Crowe and Made).
