What can I say besides libraries are little slices of heaven on earth. Hardesty is just a few blocks from my new home. I love to read so one of the very first things a did after moving to Tulsa was get a library card. This place is a library lovers dream. It is huge. Nice big parking lot with handicap-accessible parking. Drive up Dropbox is available so you can drop off your books if you don't have time to go inside. This library is clean, even the bathroom sparkled. Helpful staff scattered about and they are always more than happy to help you find anything or answer questions. There are many computers and I saw several large study rooms where people were studying. They have a huge children's section that's closed off. I'm not sure if there are books in there but there's plenty of room for the kids to play. I'll be honest sometimes I just wanna get away from the TV, people and life's stressors and one my favorite things to do is to take my Kindle or the book I'm reading ( I like both ebooks and regular books) and go to the library, curl up in one of their comfy chairs and read for several hours especially in the summer when it's hot outside. If you like to read and haven't checked this library out, I highly recommend you do so. read more

This is my favorite library in town. Everyone is so helpful and I always enjoy going. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

They have easy parking and a GREAT kids play area!! My son is almost 2.5 years old and we had a great time. Tons of seating for parents while the kids play. Easy to see your child playing. read more

They have thinned out their selection of hard bound books. The huge desk for librarians is gone and there are small desks placed around with helpful librarians. They have a different machines for checkout. You have a touchscreen and stack the materials inside the machine, watch the screen to see if they all check out. This is definitely my favorite library in the Tulsa area. This place is two floors of awesome library-ness. - an adorable kids area - a "teen area" set up like a lounge with a 3D printer and couch and a large flat screen TV - tons of tables for meeting with groups or individual studying - private study rooms (but they're taken really quickly!) - TONS of computers Whatever you want out of a library, this place probably has it. And it's one of the only libraries in the area open on Sundays - extra star for them. read more

We went for a meet the author event with Gordon Korman. The building is super nice. Gordan Korman was an excellent speaker. He kept the kids engaged and was funny! However, like other library events we've been to, there seems to be a lack of planning. We waited outside and none of the doors were labeled and there were no signs up- no one knew what to do. When we were let inside the same awkwardness continued. There were many library employees there so it seems like more could have been done to make it run smoother. Overall it was a great event. I'm glad that Tulsa can get big name writers. read more

Love this huge library! This library has a ton of parking, lots of computers and study space, elevator to get up stairs, and dedicated spaces for children, yourh, and adult fiction. There are also some very nice conference rooms. The restrooms are spacious and we'll lit. The Conner's Corner is a separate area dedicated to children. Beyond all the kids books is an interactive pirate themed area. This is where the librarians do story time. Up stairs Is the teen section and lots of the non fiction. Almost all the computers are upstairs as well. Up there are lots of quite places to read or work and a help desk. It's perfect to let kids feel independent bit still be contained and supervised. The selection is great even for Manga and microfilm. And there is a dive thru drop off for undamaged media and books. The statue of a pile of books out front is a bit of an eyesore. read more

This 2 story library has everything! A section for young kids to read and play, lots of computers great for research or just to pass the time, an adult section upstairs, and quiet rooms to study in. I also noticed they have a genealogy section if you need to do that kind of research which is pretty cool! There's an auditorium and conference rooms as well. It can be a bit loud in the kids area of course, but it's very peaceful and quiet upstairs and in the lobby. This is the biggest library I've been to in Tulsa and also my favorite! read more

Biggest library I've ever been in, and that's saying a lot! I'm amazed at the space in here, and the organization. The only disappointment is we are visiting from out of town for a couple of weeks, and they would not work with me on a way to check out books from here. I understand they have to be cautious of people not returning their items, but it would be nice if they could figure something out to let more people from other areas be able to enjoy checking out items as well. read more

Think reading is for dorks, nerds, and losers? Well guess what... Reading is actually pretty cool! The Hardesty Regional Library moved to its current location in the early 2000s from its former location by Woodland Hills Mall. This is one of the nicest libraries I've ever seen. There is plenty of parking that's all pretty close to the front door. There are two works of art out front: one is a stack of books made from stone from each of the six occupied continents and the other is a person sitting and reading (the clothes are real!) When you enter, there are several conference rooms off of the lobby. I've taken classes before in them and they're a nice perk to this library. Once you walk into the main library, you'll notice there aren't any desks where you check books in and out. Rather, there's now a scanning system where customers do it themselves - no librarian needed! (OK, they still have librarians and they do lots of other things.) The downstairs notably has computers and a large room full of children's books. Ascend the staircase and there is even more: there is a genealogy section, private study rooms, couches to relax and read, study tables, and both fiction and nonfiction sections. This is my library of choice because it has an enormous selection. Whenever I search for books (at tulsalibrary.org), there is almost always a copy at this location. Whether studying, meeting, or simply checking out a book, Hardesty is the place to go. read more

This location features an iPad lounge. This provides access to thousands of newspapers, in scores of languages, and access to tons of magazines. I like the ability to engage the self checkout and check in machines. The self service options make it quick and easy for me to get in and out. There is always a ton of parking as well. read more

This is an exceptional Library in South Tulsa. Always a good experience. Whether finding a book, information or securing a room for your private meetings. They have a wonderful area upstairs for private or group studies . A lovely Auditorium for special Events . I absolutely love this library. My favorite by far! They have an incredible staff and are always there to help. Massive selection of books, movies, audiobooks, and anything else you could want. This is a newer library and is pretty nice. The meeting rooms are excellent however the reservation system is cumbersome.

This library is humongous and very much up to date. I'm impressed with not only the number of books they have in their two-level building but also available computers with the internet, magazines, printing abilities, classes both in person and online, ebooks, and movies(and not just G-rated granny movies either; very modern ones you might be considering renting from redbox) ! !! So the moral of the story here is that some very savvy people are running this place and you shoukd always check here before going anywhere else for books, etc! The downstairs meeting rooms are available for reservation and nice if you need to have a group meeting/presentation. read more
