I love Magic City! Not only is it a beautiful bookstore downtown with a great selection and lots of book club opportunities, but their social media is SO good. They aren't afraid to speak the truth and point out injustice. I popped by before an event downtown, and I loved just browsing the selection. Prices are the same as any new book store. And staff are very friendly.

Really cute bookstore. I think it's family owned, at least it looks like it is. If I lived in Tulsa, I would be here all the time.

I enjoy browsing this local bookstore. They have several different bookclubs to participate in and often bring a variety of authors for special events. The parking is street parking only. The staff is lovely and super helpful. To support our local bookstore, you might spend more for a book than if you grabbed it on Amazon or Barnes and noble, just a tip in regards to pricing. They do offer a membership that provides a discount and other special features, ask them for more details. I do love the Oklahoma history and local author section. You won't find every book but they can order you must books that are available, it just might be a special order. Definitely enjoy wondering the aisles and picking up a few books. Happy reading.

Matt was super helpful in the store and providing recommendations for places to go nearby! The store has some really cool book options, definitely a must check out

Fulfilling a birthday request. My daughter collects unique, regional/city themed, decorative, book bags and shopping bags (e.g., Trader Joe's.) We fulfilled the request for a bag from Magic City Books. After a stroll through the shop, perusing the wonderful, diverse, enlightening, subject matter, I was unable to find a copy of this months "Guns and Ammo." I surmised that this was not a book store for me. Oh hell, who am I trying to fool....I can't read anyway...but I do like the pictures!

Love love love this book store! From its cute, cozy vibes to the selection of books! My favorite spot was the reading nook in the back where there were cozy green chairs! I loved their selection of stickers, postcards and magnets also. Will definitely return!

Our haul from Magic city books. Good things come in brown bags from bookstores.

Took a family vacation to Tulsa a few weeks ago, and we were lucky enough to be staying in a hotel that was kitty corner to Magic City Books. We had planned to visit the bookstore later in our trip, but as luck would have it the local news station did a segment with Magic City Books. We made this our next stop. Book shops have always been Magical to me. I love libraries, book stores, chain and independent, isles of books in any box store. I love the smell of the books; the texture of the pages; the jacket covers are the liner notes of my youth; I love the first "crack" of the book spine in opening up a new book. Magic City Books does not disappoint. Books upon books reach up to the high ceiling. The children's section is filled with wonderful selections, such as The Big Book of Birds, where you can learn that flamingos will pee on their legs to stay cool. My daughter selected three other books, along with the bird book. I had my eye on a few Oklahoma authors and added to my cookbook collection with four books of my own. The staff was very inviting, knowledgeable and friendly. The selection of books is very impressive and has many off-the-beaten-path offerings. Get out there and support your local book store to keep the Magic alive.

The best little independent bookstore in Tulsa! Probably Oklahoma! Entirely possibly the world. The people who work here love books. I know because I used to work with some of them at Barnes & Noble . They have such a fun range of gifts and books and are willing to order pretty much anything you want if they don't have it in the store. I bought an amazing pair of The Monster at the End of this Book socks and I think they're going viral on my Facebook lol. My friend and I enjoyed strolling through here and buying a few things. Check it out!

I love to purchase books that are not outrageously priced and you don't have to order them. They have a Greek mythology section that I love.

Has a great little atea in back to enjoy visiting authors talk about their books. Some parking on the street.

I love the surroundings and decor here. I had just missed the most recent Yelp event and so I had to get a matcha. It was delicious! I also got an iced tea (something tropical with pineapple) before I left along with a TBR (turkey, bacon, ranch) sandwich to go. The sandwich was pretty solid. I wish I had had time to browse the books more. I will be back! (The only issue was they were out of lavender syrup that day. I wanted a lavender matcha and my coworker wanted a lavender latte....) Besides the delicious coffee drinks, I appreciate that they offer Mood Bru as well here!

But the two people in front…read moreof me ordering sandwiches and me ordering a matcha has resulted in a line of 10 people. They couldn't be waited on till the three of us got our orders. I appreciated that on my end. I bet the people yet to be waited on were annoyed. It took me 27 minutes to get my drink from the time I ordered it. I timed them. The people in front of me complained that the cafe was out of everything. Anything they asked for wasn't available. Various breads and bagels and baked goods. They don't have soy milk? Only traditional, almond or oat. I had to circle the building three times before I found street parking. Pros: I really wanted to hate this place. But this is the best Matcha I have ever had ever. Sweet and smooth. Really good. Very cute vibes. Mid century modern industrial decor. The guy making the sandwiches followed appropriate hygiene methods. Very clean. I watched him the entire time I was there. Things were so weirdly chaotic for the employee. But he just kept smiling and even made a joke.

Oak Tree Books has rolling ladders around their book cases. It's really, really difficult for me…read morenot to channel my inner Belle from Beauty and the Beast to jump on and slide around. This space is a nook of older and first edition books, but not a great spot to find newer used reads. Most of the books are about Oklahoma and Native Americans. There are some smaller sections of science fiction, literature & classic children's books. Inside is well organized but you still feel like an explorer. I'm going to go back as Belle and find the rose behind a book.

I have really mixed feelings about this bookstore…read more... On one hand there's a lot of rare books that I've never seen at other used bookstores, even in much larger cities. The guy that owns the place is pretty nice and seems to know the business. I also love giving my business to locally owned used bookstores. On the other hand a lot (if not most) of the books are WAY WAY WAY overpriced. And I'm not talking about the rare first edition stuff. I'm talking about just run of the mill crap you find in any used bookstore. You know, stuff that anywhere else might cost $2-$4 would cost $10-$15 at Oak Tree. So, I don't know.... I would only recommend this place if you're a collector of rare and/or first edition books, or if there's some book you absolutely have to have but can't find it anywhere else. I only wish this place were cheaper, because, as I said, I like supporting local businesses, but it's just too expensive for the average reader....
