We've been here 2 x with our 2 kids and had excellent service and a great meal both times. You can tell that they really work hard to ensure a good customer experience which is rare in this town these days. The garlic noodles were outstanding and the spicy miso ramen hit the spot. We will definitely go back. It is nice to have a delicious noodle house with good variety that our kids will happily eat. This will be our new regular spot. They should advertise more, as we did not know they were there. We will be telling our friends and family for sure. read more

This is the 3rd store in this location in the last 5 years, I hope they last longer than the previous ones, because it's quite good. The decor is sparce - not quite "whole in the wall" but def not fancy. It was clean and the staff was pleasant and service was fast. I started with the wings appetizer, they substituted okra for peppers which was fine with me as I'm not a pepper fan, and that was honestly the best okra I've ever eaten. Not slimy at all. Followed up with the Ko Ramen. It looked great, see my pic. Big chunks of pork belly and a creamy broth. The flavor was very mild. Actually I would call it bland, but it perked right up with a few shakes of the seasoning present on the table. It was a large serving, I was not able to finish it all. Price was a little high - $30 for appetizer, soup and hot tea seems a bit more than I would expect for lunch. But I will probably be back - the menu was quite extensive I want to try some of their other things. read more

It was amazing! Best ramen I have EVER HAD. Everyone definitely needs to go here. I recommend the miso soup and spicy ramen. Amazing service and fast read more

I had such a disappointing experience with this place! We ordered the food, they said it would take 25 min to be ready, ONE HOUR AND 15 MIN later food was ready.. and I didn't even like it. Very frustrating! It's a place I will not go back to read more

Sapporo Ramen was really good there chicken wings were excellent definitely would love to go back

I was craving ramen so I looked up places near Santa Cruz and this popped up. I noticed they have online ordering on the website so I decided to try it out. Wow was that a great decision! I ordered the ko ramen and it was delicious! Im not a big meat eater so I was nervous about the pork, but it was delicious! Very flavorful and tender. The broth was amazing as well with the perfect texture and great taste. The man running the restaurant was very friendly. I definitely will be coming here if I want ramen again! read more

I've never had ramen before and while on a business trip I stopped by to try it and now would definitely recommend it to anyone. They definitely got my business here, the waiter was very friendly, and the service was quick. I will surely be back here again. read more

Please help to keep this restaurant open!! I have ordered twice in the last 2 weeks. The Ko ramen is very delish. Creamy broth with 3 generous pieces of pork belly. The chicken karrage is very good, but needs to be eaten immediately to enjoy it crunchy. The curry Brussels sprouts are different; a lot of curry sauce. I had enough to eat it over hot rice. The restaurant only started offering take out last week and probably most people don't know. I tried calling multiple times; no answer. I decided to drive by, and coincidentally this was first day open for take out. This week I ordered for pick up at 130 and it was ready on time and hot. read more

Terrific hole in the wall Asian gourmet dishes at good price point - especially considering serving size. The food hits the comfort zone spot for my ramen addiction and the Japanese curry is downright delightful. Fantastic new restaurant in Capitola! read more

My boyfriend and I were feeling sick today and we decided to look up some places to get some soup to make us feel better and let me tell YOU THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. They were super sweet and always made sure our food was good. They give you a nice portion for the amount you pay for and the ramen tastes amazing. Throat definitely felt like it cleared up after have some nice ramen. The tea is great too to drink with your meal. Highly recommend this place. :) read more

Incredible food. I had the Ko ramen, the kabocha ramen also got rave reviews from our table. One of the most satisfying meals I've ever head

Edible, poor service, mediocre ramen, spectacularly unremarkable. The ramen is edible, but needs more condiments than top ramen. Ambiance is non existant especially with the two servers who seem to have missed the notion of haste. Dissapointing. read more

Tiny little place... almost missed it! We stopped in because .. Ramen. My husband is a fan. He said the noodles and broth were both good (which he's had a hard time finding both here in Santa Cruz). I got the veggie curry. Not a fancy place, but not fancy prices! :) But very good taste and customer service. I also saw a few people in to pick up to go orders. We'll be back. read more

Omg the kabocha with coconut pumpkin broth is literally one of the best meals I've ever had. Amazing

Fantastic ramen spot, got the ko, pro tip- let the egg soak till the end. Yelp is making me write more so I. n post this read more

Tried this place finally late one Monday for dinner as a quick take out. I was mid move and so the soup ended up sitting and waiting for me to enjoy it for a few hours. When I finally got to my new home, I quickly heated the broth back up in a pot on my stove and the Ko ramen I ordered was still absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to a long day of moving. Will definitely be back for more! read more

Yes, kind staff, but no, it is not good ramen. The Ko ramen (tonkotsu equivalent) is creamy and comes with a good serving of pork belly, but it's bland. The spicy garlic shoyu broth was unpleasant to me, with no depth of flavor. No thanks on the plain hardboiled egg. If looking for soup, it's fine. If looking for ramen, I guess we still have to go over the hill. For Santa Cruz options, I'd rate Kaito as slightly better (at least it has the right flavor) and Full Steam Dumpling as significantly better (they're distributing take-home kits out of the Food Lounge during Covid). read more

Stopped by Sapporo ramen just randomly on a trip to Santa Cruz. We didn't think much of it but this place was delicious and had great customer service. The guy was super nice, welcoming, and helpful. We got the 21.Ko and 22.Karrange. The chicken in the 22 was super juicy & tender! Great place I would really recommend this for place for ramen lovers. read more

Wow! Amazing food with kind and wonderful service. My friend and I had the fried tofu, curry and kabocha ramen and the hot sake. We are definitely coming back. One of the best eateries in Santa Cruz :) read more

The Ko ramen was quite nice and had a very clean taste to it. The pork belly in it was also thick, generously sized, and came apart in my mouth. Pretty big portion overall. Prices are lunch prices all day now so it's rather reasonable for a quick ramen fix. read more

Skewers - Amazing!!! Tried them as cheat meal after workout! Ramen - Huge (that's probably why the price is slightly more), ingredients inside great quality! Broth, very nice! The Reviews from a few months ago that were bad, that's when it just opened! You can't expect a brand new restaurant that popped out from nowhere to be perfect on its first day... this is coming from a newer perspective, it's so good now!!!! read more

We absolutely love the ramen here. It''s my teenage son's favorite place to eat. Also, they are very nice and friendly to customers!! :)

We tried the Ko (pork belly), spicy miso, and kabocha (vegetarian) ramen soups, and all were delicious. Would encourage owner to slice the pork belly pieces thinner so they soften in the soup faster. Totally works as takeout food. Just make sure the broth is hot before you add the noodles and other ingredients (reheat broth via stovetop or microwave if necessary). read more

Amazing food! We had the Ko Ramen and the Shrimp Tom Yum and both were amazing. Huge portions and friendly staff.

This place has a lot of potential! We had the Ko ramen and the chicken karrage curry. The Ko would definitely be enough food for two people, which may account for the hefty price tag. The lighting is really intense florescents so the ambience could be improved. Overall the food was pretty good, but I would suggest only getting one main dish to share unless they lower their prices and serving size. I am excited to see how they evolve! read more

Easily the worst ramen place in Santa Cruz or even in this area. Extremely overpriced, and the portions are small. The waiter was very inattentive and I had to ask twice to have our water glasses filled. The restaurant is dingy and looks like they put very little time into making it an enjoyable place to eat. If you like this place then you do not know ramen. This place sucks and I will never come back here again. read more

the ko ramen is amazing, i like to add the spicy garlic sauce to it. probably the best ramen i've ever had. masks and social distancing are in full effect at this restaurant. read more

I have no idea why I have not tried this place earlier! We got the Ko Ramen and the Spicy Miso, and both were so delicious! The Ko was creamy and so flavorful and the spicy miso had the right amount of heat. This place is hands down the best place for ramen in Santa Cruz. I got the ramen to-go and it was packaged very well and easy to put together at home. The guy working there was also very sweet and you can tell he really loves his craft! Please try this place if you haven't already! read more

I'm gonna be pretty honest in this review. As a dude who has been all over Japan, LA, San Diego, and San Francisco, this place might be the worst ramen I have ever tried. Let me break down the Ko ramen which I ordered. For a bowl of ramen to cost 17 dollars, I expect the broth to be made from pork bones that have been boiled over night (as most restaurants do... however the broth here feels like it was from a powder packet, lacking any depth of flavor at all. They try to make up for this fact with large portion sizes but even the noodles don't feel fresh or springy. Sure this can fool most ramen eaters but like I said, I've had a lot of ramen in my lifetime. The pork was dry and disappointing, lacking any of the mouthwatering textures expected in a 17 dollar ramen. The toppings were sparse and don't click with the dish. The restaurant isn't even run by Japanese people (the restaurant name is SAPPORO). This place is over priced and unauthentic, and unless that's what you're looking for, don't come here. You've been warned. read more

Prices are high and the food has really nothing extra. My ramen was watery with not a lot of goodies in it and gyozas were too fried. Portions are decent but definitely not worth the price. read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was some of the worst tasting ramen I've ever had. Hardly any flavor profile and the egg I got was hard boiled instead of soft boiled which is a no no in my book. For now, I'll continue eating at the neighbor ramen joint s few blocks down. I'll certainly give this place another try in a few months though. Oh and the decor is TERRIBLE. At least put a little effort into it! read more

Love this place!! The ramen is absolutely delicious. Friendly staff, and lots of items to choose from. I got the kabucha ramen my first visit and it was so delicious I have gotten it every time since. Love the spicy rice cake appetizer too! Have gotten takeout during covid, and it is as delicious as ever!! read more

Maybe I'm just easy but I was leaving the gym tonight and pulled into this place on impulse. My reference point for Ramen is the stuff that you buy at a grocery store in styrofoam cups. I have lived in Hawaii for many years and I know what Saimen is and I assumed this was similar. It is. I ordered Miso Soup to go and assumed I was getting a container of soup. When I got home I opened the bag and there was a large container of soup and a separate container with noodles a huge chicken leg with veggies and half an egg! Geez. Tons of food and it was great! I'm down for this place. It took maybe 5 minutes to prepare and the lady there was friendly and ya, you cant eat ambiance but the food was great and I will be back...Good job! read more

Just tried their Ko Ramen last night. I was expecting more for a $17,99 ramen. The broth is good but the soft boiled egg was actually hard boiled (even though was flavorful), the pork belly was cut super thick and the ramen was just ok. I would have liked to have some other ingredients (without having to pay extra) because it was basically just broth, ramen, egg and meat. Anyway, I would give 4 stars just for the broth, but again, for the price they're charging, there are some improvements to be made. read more

Don't waste your money. Poor service bad food long wait. I waited almost 40 minutes for garlic noodles that have no garlic in them and tasted like straight fish sauce by that time I had to leave to go back to work so I just paid and left because all they wanted to do was give me a new dish instead of giving me my money back. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

they have the best!! Ramen in SC and I believe its better than SJ ramen. Karaage Ramen Is soooo goood!! Highly recommend!! thanks guys!!

I'd heard about it from a few different people, thought I'd check it out. I was disappointed. I had the Ko Ramen and thought it was lacking in the rich flavor I expect from any kind of ramen soup. I went with a friend who ordered something different and it too wasn't particularly good. I know it's a new place but they needed to open the doors with their best game ready to go. If this was that, there's no reason to go back. If you want good ramen, get it over the hill. read more

Never judge a book by its cover cause this place is BOMB!! We got the ko ramen and it was delicious. The flavor is extremely on point! Probably the best ramen I've had in all of Santa Cruz.
