Inside it seats around 30 and is decorated in a modern style that still manages to be warm and welcoming. We visited recently for a meal for 4 on a Friday evening. The restaurant was nearly full. All our starters and mains were served in a timely manner and were delicious. I ordered the scallops and duck and both were brilliant. This is not a mega cheap place but it is worth the money charged. We spent around £35 per head with drinks. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

It doesn't look much from the outside but from the moment you go in, you are made to feel at home. A clean modern restaurant. All our food was served promptly, and was devoured just as promptly - all excellent. I have visited many "Italian" Restaurants both in Italy & here in the UK and I have to say this is certainly in my top ten! Good food made from quality ingredients, with excellent service is never cheap (if cheap is what you want, there are many pub restaurants to choose from) La Nonna is reasonably priced for the standard of food & service you receive, you can pay a lot more elsewhere for a lot less! Well worth a visit

We came across this online and said 'why not try it' The setting was very Italian and cosy. I like the fire we were sat beside even though it wasn't lit. The table decoration was very Italian and the seats and tables a nice and chunky wooden rustic style. The waitress was in good form and helpful explaining the menu to us. Tapas style Italian dishes. We got bottled water and bread, oils and balsamic while deciding what else to get. The bread and oils are one of my favorite ways to start a meal. They were yum. Really fresh and full of flavor. We got 6 tapas between us. Plenty for 2. I was stuffed by the end. We got stuffed roasted peppers with cheese, Pepperoni pizza, fried potatoes with red pesto dip and aoili, meatballs, Salmon pasta and creamy mushroom bruscetta. All were very tasty with very good portion sizes. Some i'd get again some I'd change. The price was decent ranging between 3.50-5 pounds each. Our bill totalled £32 the water was over £3 of this alone and we both felt 5 dishes would have been enough. Worth a trip. I love tapas, they're a great way to try a little of everything. Will definitely be a local favorite.

I did make a complaint, to which the deputy manager did say by e mail that he tried to phone me, but was told that I no longer resided at my address, we have been here for over 20 years, is this an excuse ?, perhaps the deputy manager punched in a wrong number ? who knows, but I am still waiting. Definitely world class food in a pleasant environment. If you are ever nearby, highly recommend you make a reservation and give your taste buds a treat. This is high quality, authentic Italian food, with delicious, light sauces that are full of flavour to the point of perfection. The branzino literally melts in your mouth. The farfalle al salmone has such a delicious sauce I wiped my plate clean with the bread, something I never do. The tiramisu was perfection itself with the flavours balanced in a way few restaurants can achieve. A hidden gem, this place would be regarded as outstanding in any of the world's food capitals. Like the food, service was spot on. Prompt and attentive without being rushed. The meals were served hot and fresh. The chairs are comfortable, music at an appropriate level so it didn't drown out conversation but you couldn't hear other tables' talk, creating a good atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Portions are not huge, particularly the pasta, which probably helps keep the prices fair, but it does mean anyone with an appetite can enjoy 3 courses without leaving overly stuffed. The location is odd, tucked away in a quiet side street, nothing like you would imagine for even an average restaurant. There's a car park for hotel guests but for diners you have to park on the street. We got a space out front but you may have to drive round a little at busy times (though street parking is free). Check their website for hours as Yelp has it wrong. Dress code (on a Saturday evening) seemed to be smart casual (jeans and a shirt, shoes) so we were a little casual (but it wasn't a problem). I'm hoping to stay at the attached hotel next time I'm visiting so I can eat here multiple times. I grew up in Loughborough and am genuinely shocked that such a spectacular meal is served here!!
