What I appreciated most was the honesty. The mechanic I worked with laid out the exact recommendations to fix the issue--no fake urgency, no tacked-on supplies, and zero attempts to upsell services I didn't need. He was straightforward, had a quick wit, and told it to me straight. No corporate runaround, just a solid mechanic who knows what he's doing and doesn't try to gouge you. They…read moremechanic said that a house needed to be replaced, but they were not able to do it because they do not have the equipment needed to evacuate the existing refrigerant 1234yf. They referred us to the Kia dealer, which I knew would be very expensive. So I did some research online and found Franklynn Automotive. I called and described the situation to Steve. He said they likely can handle it, but would start with a complimentary second opinion. After their inspection, they determined that the hose does not need to be replaced and we only needed to refresh the refrigerant, which they do have the equipment for. In addition, the reason the other shop might have suggested the hose replacement was because of a leak related to the axel. All in, the repairs would be substantially less than the dealer quote for work that may not have been needed in the first place. Overall, great experience with Franklynn.

I brought my car in knowing about a loose wire ( speed sensor) on my Hyundai Elantra. The…read moreinspection came back that I needed new brakes , a new speed sensor, contaminated brake fluid, multiple hoses replaced, radiator flush, and a bunch of other things. I decided to get the brakes fixed although it surprised me with the rotors and the wire harness just needed to be reattached. Nothing was ever communicated. I made the mistake of paying over a $1000 for the front brake repair ( rotors / pads) and wiring speed sensor because I was busy. Bottom line - overpriced on labor and parts. My wire harness over left wheel was taped up so was it replaced? My mechanic friend inspected it and says no way. When I asked if I could see what they ordered, I was denied access. My car sat outside most of the day and it was in garage minimally according to my car gps. Your call but I am not going back and I do not trust them. Lesson learned and I'm out $1000 which isn't much but I'm just glad I didn't fall for everything else they wanted to do. Front brake pads for $1000, a wire repair never communicated, and my old rotors were fine. I'm sure they will respond to this professionally but my perspective is real.

I brought my vehicle in for diagnosis/repair of some O2 sensor wiring (wires coming from the car!)…read moreand emissions issues. The shop recommended replacing multiple oxygen sensors and quoted over $1,400 in repairs. (Ended up paying only $300 at a different shop and did not change a single sensor!!!!!) However, I had recently already installed a new downstream O2 sensor, and I was disappointed that their recommendation focused on only replacing parts rather than clearly explaining what testing had been performed to confirm the sensors were actually faulty. The damaged wiring and connector were obvious issues that I asked to be repaired and tested, but I was never provided voltage readings, continuity test results, or any detailed diagnostic information showing why random ADDITIONAL sensors needed to be replaced. (Seems like all they do is read codes and change parts over there) Would not recommend to anyone who is not car savvy....or anyone in general for that matter. ;))

This review is based directly on what is documented on the invoices…read more A senior family member brought her vehicle in for a check-engine light and a coolant leak. Per the invoice, she was charged $164.89 for check-engine light concerns and $98.00 for a cooling system pressure test, totaling $290.14, which she paid. The cooling system pressure test to identify a leak was reasonable and not disputed. However, the invoice also documents deferred/declined services totaling $3,289.48. These included extensive recommended repairs that were declined after review. Notably, the invoice states the alternator was not charging and was not repaired, yet a full check-engine diagnosis was still performed and billed. Diagnosing electronic engine and transmission faults while the charging system is inoperative results in unstable system voltage and unreliable fault codes. In addition, a battery was installed without authorization. The invoices show the battery initially quoted at $260, later reduced to $160 without a warranty, and only after objection was it ultimately provided at no charge because the original battery had already been discarded. I expect better authorization practices, transparency, and diagnostic standards -- especially when working with senior citizens who rely on a shop's guidance. Based on what is documented on the invoices and the amount of declined work presented, I cannot recommend this location. We are asking for a refund of the 164.89
