I purchased a mobile home from this company appx 6 years ago. When I purchased it, I was assured that the home passed inspection, and that everything was working properly, and was safe to live in. Well, I had an inspector come out yesterday because I noticed that the crack in my ceiling was getting larger, and it was starting to sag. Apparently, it was caused by water damaged due to the roof leaking. According to this inspector, the roof should NOT be doing this 6 years after purchase, and it should NEVER have passed inspection. Apparently, the roof was in bad shape when I bought the place. It was improperly shingled and now there are holes and cracks in the roof. I will have to do a temporary fix and get the ceiling replaced which will cost appx $3000, but the roof will only last another 5 years or so, at which point I will have to get it replaced, which will cost $8000. Not only that, but there are leaky pipes under the unit, due to old joints which, again, SHOULD have been noticed when the initial inspection was going on.
This really upsets me, as I I have already spent almost $5000 over the past 6 years in repairs to this place. All the appliances started failing as soon as I moved in. I had to get the a/c replaced, all of the fixtures in the bathroom replaced, which started leaking, and have the house releveled. I was not aware of any of this when I bought the home.
Now, I am told that the roof is faulty, and more plumbing issues. I contacted management to tell them what the building inspector said, but they told me they couldn't do anything...even though I was led to believe the home was in good shape.
They claim they want to help veterans, but they won't help to fix the stuff that is THEIR fault for a struggling veteran like me. I hope to get out of this house, and this bogus contract, because although I like living here, I can't afford all of these issues. I just hate the fact that I put so much effort and money into this place. Looks like they will be benefitting from my stupidity. read more
