It's not easy to have a good time at an establishment when the entire staff hates their job. We had a group of 40 or so for an after-work get-together and we were treated like we were a nuisance. We were lectured and threatened repeatedly even though not one of us was causing a disturbance of any kind. It was clear from the minute we arrived that we were ruining what is usually a very quiet night for the staff...and they did everything in their power to make sure we knew that. My husband and I Decided to try this place yesterday. It was a beautiful day so we wanted to sit outside. Worst experience ever! 6 regulars sitting at the bar outside dropping F bombs so loud! All of them were smoking and vaping right in front of the No smoking sign. The bartender was throwing down shots with them and could care less. One thing I cannot stand is trying to eat my lunch with peoples cigarette smoke blowing in my face. Our poor waitress was appalled and said unfortunately this is how it is there. The bathrooms were nasty. Then to end our already bad experience our server asked the manager to take a draft beer off of our bill because we did not like it or drink it and she looked at me and rolled her eyes. I had patronized Frankie I's several times last year and spread a lot of good words about what a nice establishment it was. Good food, good beer, good music, kind staff, nice building - a really good place to eat, drink and listen to music. Unfortunately I went there in early April (2017) and had a completely different experience. The food, beer and music were still very good, but apparently they have implemented a no re-entry policy for music events - and hired an arrogant door man to enforce it. The man was extremely rude to everyone in my party and made everyone extremely uncomfortable. They own the place and have a right to implement whatever policies they want - as I understand they've had trouble with fights there in recent history. My problem was with the attitude and approach taken by the doorman with enforcing the new rule. Being offensive and demeaning to paying, friendly customers is NOT a recipe for success. I will most likely not return until I hear that this situation is addressed. read more

Very cool place. For an appetizer we had the wet cajun wings which were flavorful and cooked perfectly. They could have been a little more meaty but very good nonetheless. My wife had the taco bowl salad which was excellent and very large. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was good but not great. While certainly a sustainable upgrade to the past iteration of this place, it lacks consistent delivery of food needed to give it four stars. Food can range from above average to merely functional and at times to undercooked. The bar program lacks a variety of spirits (especially local spirits/craft beer), training on proper drink crafting and the use of fresh juices. The bar is geared more towards the commercial beer drinker. The staff is pleasant and the atmosphere is relaxed. I hear this places gets somewhat rowdy on the weekend for concert nights. I believe a focus on delivering the food product consistently with a bolstered bar program (one with a clear focus and identity) could elevate Frankie Is above the swarm of competition about to saturate the area. read more

Horrible experience. We used to come here often, and we always enjoyed our food and experience...not this time. We went here for a date night. We were harassed by a drunken regular. My boyfriend was threatened , and we were cussed at by the drunken patron. When we called the owner over, he did not ask the man to leave, nor was the man asked to leave us alone. The intoxicated patron became louder, and he continued to threaten us. We left without eating our meal. We won't be back. I felt unsafe in this establishment. Food was amazing. Ordered through DoorDash and we had it quickly. The Italian hoagie was great. Homemade chips were crispy and not soggy. The veggie salad was so good. It is mixed greens rather than all iceberg, which was a plus for me. I loved the artichokes and pepperocinis too. The shrimp dinner was good, my friend said. The steak hoagie was also good. My wife and I Went to Frankie I's for wing night ordered 18 hot wings nachos and drinks. I ordered 18 wings so I would have left overs for lunch tomorrow as I had to work a double shift. Food was good and service was ok, but when I asked for a box I was told that I could not take my wings out. This is the only place I have been to that had this policy. We threw more food away than we ate. It's a shame that they lost 2 customers at least for wing night over a stupid policy. There's plenty of places to get wings around here and no need to leave upset over something stupid. read more

Great place to visit!!!! Went on a Saturday afternoon and there were roughly 7 other people there. Quick service. I got the chicken tacos and they might just be the best tacos I've ever had, packed full of flavor. Prices are more than decent in my opinion. Didn't expletive a band but they have a stage. My one and only gripe is the jukebox, if no one plays anything, you're left watching one of the many TVs while listening to the LOUD hum of speakers. Other than that, highly recommend. read more

I've eaten there twice and the food is awesome, especially the wings. Last Friday we got there at 4:30. My husband is in a wheelchair and we wanted to sit inside. I was surprised at how many people were there. I told the manager no problem we will wait. There was a man sitting in a booth by himself and the manager asked him if he would mind moving to a high top table. He graciously did so we were seated right away. It was a penguin playoff game so it was pretty noisy but it is a sports bar and we didn't mind. Will go back soon. read more

Been here quite a few times since my last post. I love to see bands here, great stage gets a little tight when they get packed especially when Ruff Creek rocks the house, i dig the scene. My friend and I came here today, and it really wasn't anything special. We had the BIGF appetizer (jalapeño poppers, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and fried zucchini). I had the tenders and sticks; he had the poppers and zucchini. We were both content with what we got, but I don't think we got enough for a $12 appetizer. I had a Caesar salad, which was bad. It was absolutely laced in dressing and had quite a bitter taste to it. My friend had a chicken sandwich and fries. He thought it was great. I tasted the fries and they were good. Our server was Cindy; she didn't introduce herself or seem overly interested. Maybe she was having an off day; but the service was not very good. If I'm back in the area, I might try this joint again (and I wouldn't order the Caesar salad), but I certainly won't drive clear down from Cranberry to do it. read more

Buyer beware of hidden charges at this place. The food is good the waitresses are nice. But we went for wing night during happy hour. As advertised, appetizers are $3 during happy hour but what they don't tell you is that they have separate appetizers from what is listed on the menu. We specifically asked the waitress about the happy hour appetizers, then made our order from the menu. She never told us that our choice was not included in the happy hour pricing. We then ordered our wings, she asked us if we wanted celery and dressing, she never told us that there was an up charge for the celery and dressing. We were regulars here but they have nickeled and dimed us way too much. Extra dressing (when the waitress brought us the wrong dressing to start) .75, gravy extra 1.50 (for country fried pork and potatoes), and a $2.00 "bottle opening" fee for a glass of wine! None of this was mentioned prior or has been charged before....our average bill was $70. I think it's bad customer service when someone is there quite a bit to charge for little things i.e.gravy,that should've been on the potatoes to begin with. We won't be back for awhile. Went out for my daughter's 21st birthday. Walked in at 1:05 AM right behind 2 other patrons and were turned away rather rudely saying he just sent the bartender home. Not friendly at all.
