They made me feel relaxed just by their awesome attitude, they had a most beatiful puppy there and they let me play with it! I had a routine check and cleaning done, the hygienist was so professional and kind, she explained the things she was doing, educated me on mouth care, and had good sense of humour too. Dr Brown walked me through the xrays and explained why or why not each tooth looked good or had potential problem. And no one pushed any extra services on me. They are very caring and professional.

So after getting my insurance in order, and…read morebooking an appointment I was more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. There was a lot of people in the waiting room and I can see why because when they take you back there are so many little exam rooms all equipped with dentistry type of dentist stuff. First appointment, x-rays and a quick scrap and polish of the teeth. Then the news... I needed a full mouth deep cleaning under gums, and two root canals. My Amazon wish list items would have to wait, and next week I would return to take care of the damage. The good - I got everything done in one day because a patient cancelled. The bad- They had to double numb my mouth. I couldn't tell if I was drooling or just imaging it. The ugly- If you have insurance, all the procedures are going to be expensive. I would prepare yourself, and if you have to finance it, look at the finance charges, and pick the 3 month if possible. In the end, the staff was great, the work was thorough, and my teeth are probably happier than I am. Sure, I left with half my face numb and my bank account needing a root canal of its own, but that's more a reality of dentistry than a reflection on the office. If you need dental work done and can handle a little sticker shock, these folks will take good care of you.

I've been a regular patient at Santee Smiles for 3+ years now, but have never had any cosmetic bonding done there. I called the office Monday morning and was given an appointment with Dr. Bach for that same morning. I was nervous about getting a front tooth bonded, and had never met Dr. Bach before. As usual, the office got me in right on time so that I had no need to wait to go back. As soon as I met Dr. Bach, she put me at ease. She was very confident that she could take care of my tooth, and that she would get it done in a short amount of time. She went beyond my expectations. She did such a beautiful job matching my tooth color and shaping my tooth. It truly looks as though nothing ever happened to it. She was so kind and concerned that I was pleased with the result. Thank Dr Rivera and All who have tolerated me!!!!!!!!!…read more I've spent a lot of my life being afraid of the dentist. And when I say afraid, I don't mean that I simply "don't like going." I mean genuine anxiety and fear. The kind where your heart races, your mind goes a million miles an hour, and you would rather put off going altogether than have to sit in that chair. Over the years, that fear has made dental care incredibly difficult for me. So when I found this office, I honestly didn't know what to expect. From my very first visit, they treated me completely differently than I had experienced before. They listened to me. They understood my anxiety. They never made me feel embarrassed, ashamed, or like I was being difficult. They were patient, reassuring, and incredibly compassionate. And most importantly, they actually cared about how I was feeling. I recently had to have a root canal and for someone with my level of dental anxiety, that was a HUGE deal. I was scared going into it, but the entire team worked so hard to make me feel safe and comfortable. They explained what was happening, checked on me, and never made me feel like my fear was an inconvenience. I walked into this office with fear, and I walked out thinking, "Maybe I can actually do this." That is something I never thought I would say about going to the dentist. So if you're reading this because you're someone who is terrified of the dentist, avoids appointments, has had a bad experience, or gets anxious just thinking about dental work--I truly hope you give this office a chance. You are not being judged. Your fear is not silly. And you deserve to have a dental team that understands that. I can honestly say that I finally feel like I found a dentist I can trust. And for someone like me, that means EVERYTHING. Thank you to the entire team for treating me with so much kindness, patience, and compassion. You have made something I have feared for years feel manageable, and I will forever be grateful for that.

So much for what's best for the patient, it's all about greed and money money money. This is why we pay so much for health insurance, this exact reason. So they give a free scan, your paying for your visit and what work your getting done but they hold it hostage even is it's for the best interest of the patient. Second, if you have insurance do not go here, they are going to charge you just like you were cash pay, you won't save anything. Third, they will give you a price on the phone but after you're in the chair the price will go up. I think this place must be ran by the Jews, it's a good guess. This place use to be family oriented, but now has turned into someone trying to pay off a big business loan.

For those who aren't familiar with military medical, they refer you out to civilian practices when they don't have capacity to get you in. All required medical care is covered by the military for Active Duty personnel. Since my husband was retiring, that's what the Navy did. It's really frustrating that this small business could not get their communication figured out, and now we have to try and get reimbursed $1,000 from the military.
