Having recently moved to the UK, getting everything set up with a new banking system can be a little overwhelming, and Farishta made the entire process feel effortless. She took the time to explain everything clearly, helped resolve every issue I had, and genuinely made me feel looked after rather than rushed. It's rare to encounter this level of personal service these days. Farishta is a tremendous asset to Barclays and exactly the kind of person who makes you want to remain loyal to a bank. I couldn't recommend her -- or the Hampstead branch -- more highly. Thank you, Farishta!

Occasionally people in the queue would get distressed and even start abusing the staff. I see no reason for this however as it is not their fault. Whenever I have received direct service from one of the employees they have always been very gracious and helpful. I think they should hire more staff as many times I go in there is only 2 people on a counter that could fit 10. It is however clean in there and generally well presented. If you want fast banking I would not recommend this store.

I've just recently moved to London from the US and was having a hell of a time getting settled in,…read moremost of which was caused by not being able to procure a UK bank account. It's a bit of a roundabout issue here where you can't get decent housing without a bank account and you can't get a bank account without decent housing. I had no idea that the credit check done on you is actually done on your place of residence and the credit attached there, not necessarily all just you. Very frustrating. At my wits end, and after going to several banks in and around Soho (and getting very rude and exasperated responses to my questions - as if I was doing something wrong by moving to London and not knowing my way around the financial system), I came across this HSBC in Chinatown. Bruce is my HERO. Not only was he completely accommodating to my mistake of thinking an appointment was way earlier than it actually was, he was very reassuring, informative, patient, kind, and most of all, funny. Thank you so much Bruce for easing my final transition into London life and helping me feel like a productive adult once again. You were the only one out of several bank employees in Soho that didn't treat me like an idiot and instead like a friend. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, and most of all, appreciate you alleviating all the stress from this last stage. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The staff seem slow and lazy, and at it's busiest times they open the fewest counters, despite the fact that the additional cashiers are chatting and laughing behind the scenes..obviously not doing anything when they could be serving you when the queue is out the door! Once I asked to see a financial advisor so we could ask advice about mortgagesonly to be told to go away and find a place we liked first and then come back.what?? How would we know what was in our price range without speaking to someone first? Also a few of the cashiers speak very poor English which is something that really rustles my feathers Rant over.if you can go to another branch!
