The branch is vital for many of the community's business. The cash machines crucial too and you are lucky if you get there and don't find a queue but they rarely don't work or run out of cash which I must praise the staff for.

This bank prides…read moreitself on security but allows site like easyyardsale.com to do business with them because they know this Bank is to big to do anything to find and stop them from taking peoples money. So instead of leaving the yelp for the fraudulent company I decided to leave it with the bank that allows them to take the money. I also leaving this review with the back because I know I will have to fight tooth and nail to TRY to get the money back with a success rate of probably 50/50. Here is what was left on the BBB site for easyyardsale.com: On May 12, 2014, we wrote to this business requesting that they substantiate advertising claims made on their website, www.easyyardsale.com. The site's "About Us" page displays a list of officers of the company: C.A. "Andy" Wenig, Fred Swan, Allan Marks, David Michael Jacobson, and Beth Crowell - complete with portraits. The images used are actually those of high-profile executives of eBay, Inc. whose names have been slightly altered. On May 13, 2014 we contacted eBay, Inc. who informed us that there is no affiliation between eBay's executives and this business. The "About Us" page also claims that the company was founded in December 2008 by Peter Becker and Erik Holcomb. Becker and Holcomb are actually the founders of a business named Global Garage Sale, Inc. based in Winooski, VT. We confirmed on May 13, 2014 with Global Garage Sale, Inc. that neither Becker nor Holcomb are affiliated with this business. The website also advertises the business' name as "Easy Yard Sale, Inc." As of May 13, 2014 we have been unable to confirm that this business is incorporated in California, nor could we locate any local registration with Sacramento County. As of May 8, 2014, we confirmed that the address listed on this business' website of 11204 Pyrites Way Gold River, CA 95670 is not listed with the Sacramento County Assessors office. Also, the United States Post Office reports that they do not serve this address. According to the BBB Code of Advertising, "Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used." Additionally, the BBB Code of Advertising States "In general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it is not genuine and does not actually represent the current opinion of the endorser." Prior to this nothing but glowing reviews on all site and no complaints on the BBB. How did a little company like this scam a major bank that it was a legit company or did the bank just not care?

I've just recently moved to London from the US and was having a hell of a time getting settled in,…read moremost of which was caused by not being able to procure a UK bank account. It's a bit of a roundabout issue here where you can't get decent housing without a bank account and you can't get a bank account without decent housing. I had no idea that the credit check done on you is actually done on your place of residence and the credit attached there, not necessarily all just you. Very frustrating. At my wits end, and after going to several banks in and around Soho (and getting very rude and exasperated responses to my questions - as if I was doing something wrong by moving to London and not knowing my way around the financial system), I came across this HSBC in Chinatown. Bruce is my HERO. Not only was he completely accommodating to my mistake of thinking an appointment was way earlier than it actually was, he was very reassuring, informative, patient, kind, and most of all, funny. Thank you so much Bruce for easing my final transition into London life and helping me feel like a productive adult once again. You were the only one out of several bank employees in Soho that didn't treat me like an idiot and instead like a friend. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, and most of all, appreciate you alleviating all the stress from this last stage. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It made a big difference, especially when dealing with something as important as banking setup. The location is convenient, and overall service felt reliable and well-managed. Definitely a better option if you're looking for helpful customer support in central London. On a side note, if you're also dealing with property setup, renovations, or construction work, I found some useful services here: https://timberconstructionltd.co.uk
