What a class act! I gotta say I am more than surprised to find one of the better cigar shops in New York City is right in the neighborhood and next to Prospect Park. The owner Jose gave me my space when I first came in and noticed I was taking my time looking at the selection, then came in to give me his two cents and answer any questions I had. Pleasantly surprised to find that almost all of the cigars in the store were hand rolled at that location. It had been a while since I had a good cigar and I needed something to celebrate with so he pointed out the perfect selection. On top of that not only did they have wooden matches, but they had cedar as well to get a fresh start on the gar. The only thing missing was a dominoes / chess table, but I'm sure they had one I didn't see. Fantastic quality, especially for the price. I was a little nervous buying an eight dollar cigar but it easily smokes like a 15 or $20 cigar. If you're in Brooklyn, and you need a cigar for a celebration, wedding, birthday, bachelor party, funeral, or just a nice smoke - this is a spot for you. Fresh cigars and all different kinds of blends from a nice light morning cigar to a robust evening cigar to pair with some liquor. I did not smoke at the location, but it seemed comfy enough. Owner is dressed sharp, so it's worth throwing the smoking jacket on if you're gonna stay. I've been here a couple times now and anybody reading the one star reviews should not consider them worth any value. To be quite frank, the neighborhood and streets down the block are not that great and I'm sure the owner has some spill over into his store. As the Chappelle joke goes, just because you're black doesn't mean you're a.......... you get where I'm going. If you're respectful, and a friendly paying customer (cash is king), you will be treated with five out of five service. I will no longer be patronizing Santana Cigars. He told me "don't be a nigger, and get the fuck out of my store". On 12/30/2021 around 1pm. I walked in as I normally do with a hello. The owner gets up and proceeds to look into the door longer than normal. It was a little uncomfortable, but whatever. The other times I've been there, he's walked passed and headed for the camera screen, which Is usually fine. But today, he stood by the big window staring at me for the duration of my time in the humidor, which made me feel quite uncomfortable. I bring my cigars up and pay for them. I simply ask if there was a reason he was staring at me through the window, because it wasn't what he normally does. He proceeded to tell me he can stand where he wants. I agreed, but I let him know it did in fact made me feel a bit uncomfortable. He then proceeded to tell me if I didn't like it, I can leave and followed it with "don't be a nigger, and get the fuck out of my store". I'm not here to tell you how to spend your money, but this utterly unacceptable behavior from anyone. Especially in a neighborhood that is predominantly Black/Caribbean This is last time I will spend my money at Santana Cigars. read more

A friend of mine brought me in here a couple months ago. Never before have I felt so welcomed in to a business, specifically a cigar shop. This place is extremely professional and very knowledgeable. Hand rolled cigars in this place are by far the best I've ever had. BYOB!!! You are allowed to bring your own bottle of liquor and sit in the smoke area and talk amongst others or watch whatever is on the big screen television without paying a fee!!! This was my 1st time visiting Santana after reading their great reviews ! After visiting Cuba and finding three habanos that I really enjoyed, I was still searching for a local alternative until I return to Cuba again. I made a stop in Santana today to try their local favorites..... I recently have been using one of my old credit cards until my new card arrives. Thousands of dollars are on my backup card and since I dont use it, I clearly forgot the pin #. All stores that I go to, always override the pin after I show my I.D. Well at Santana, their system could not do the pin bypass for whatever reason. I had two cigars(total was $20-23 tops). I believe the owners name is Jose. I told him that I dont have any cash, but my card is good and all stores tht I go to, always do the credit pin bypass. He said no problem, just bring it next time, but then he went into a raid.This man cursed me like a dog. Called me the f word numerous times and proceeded to insult me in front of his customers. He said, " I dont need customers like you and you are not welcome here. GE et the f out !". I smoked one cigar and talked with the gentlemen in the lounge before he exploded. The customers there were really cool. I stayed and talked with them for about close to an hour and then when I was about to leave, I went to apologize again to the owner and thats when he exploded once again and told me I had no money on my card and to get the f out of his store ! He was probably more upset when I told him that one of his favorite cigars wasnt to my liking. Witnesses were there and I have nothing to gain by making up stories. I stayed very calm. I never cursed at him, but he continued to yell and talk to me as if I broke into his home. This guy is bad news people ! If you treat a 1st time customer like this, because you have an outdated credit card scanner........ People, I read people very well. I am a licensed EMT, a DSP mental health worker and a real estate investor. If we were in the street, I would've never tolerated his disrespect to that degree, but I was in his business and I wouldve looked like the aggressor and I am a professional, licensed by the state of NY. So here is post from today Dec 6th, 2019. When I go back to that area, I will take that scumbag his money for his two cigars. I smoked one and I left the other that wasnt to my liking, after I tasted it. Guys find another place where your money is valued and the cigars are better. The one that I had was ok, but it wasnt as good as the Punch, Romeo or El Creditos that I had in Cuba, Mr. Jose ! Thats all folks ! read more

This place is my favorite spot in Brooklyn, heck, all of NYC. I discovered it here on yelp and my experience surpassed what I was expecting from the 5 star rating Santana Premium Cigar has. The cigars, all hand rolled on premise, are great examples of what a cigar experience should be like. They have flavor, body, great smoke density, and burn evenly all the way to the end. Beyond the quality of the cigars, Santana Premium Cigar is a great place to hang out while smoking your cigar, watching a game, and drinking your alcohol of choice. It's BYOB. The first time I walked in here last week, I knew no one. By the end of the evening everyone had introduced themselves to me and I had a bunch of new friends. I've been back 3 times over the last ten days. This is by far the most welcoming establishment I've ever been to; from the owners, staff and, patrons, everyone is ready with a smile. Now I'm a regular at Santana's. They expanded the seating and added another flat screen monitor (you can watch the East Playoffs on one & the West on the other) - leather seating everywhere. The cigars are consistent in quality, taste, and price. What other cigar lounge have you been to where everyone introduces themselves. The house blends are awesome with a lot of flavor. The premium red and blue labels are great. Mild, Medium, Full-Bodied - it doesn't really matter. They're all great. After all the great reviews I figured I'd stop by. I've never smoked a cigar before but I like pipes including hookah and enjoy smoking in general for the joy of smoking not for the nicotine buzz. I wanted to maybe get a few cigars to try it. I'm going to blame the fact that it was 6pm and the store probably hadn't had a customer in hours but the person who helped me seemed to want me out the door asap. I told him I wanted to try smoking cigars and asked if maybe they had a sampler with different types (nutty, sweet, creamy, earthy) he handed me a short cigar and told me it was $5. When I asked him what it tasted like he said "Tobacco" when I asked him if any of them tasted differently he said they all taste like tobacco. I'm more than sure this isn't true but all well. Next time I'll walk in prepared with some recommendations of cigars that I might like and just list them off. read more

Santana cigar selections are by far some of the best cigars I've smoked.
