Top flight cigar shop. A ton of major brands. Owner welcomes you in like family. Great neighborhood hangout, bunch of guys were in the shop, had a bunch of food made, welcomed me in, gave me food... had a bottle floating around... and great conversation hanging out there. Has that old Brooklyn vibe that's sadly almost gone. Really a jewel of Bay Ridge.... Especially if you like cigars. Highly recommend. read more

I smoke at many shops around the city and The Humidor is my favorite place to smoke. The Humidor has an extensive selection of cigars and their prices are competitive with every shop in NYC. Yes, one of the posters comment is correct, taxes are higher in NY, but that is the same at every shop. At the Humidor you get the true sense of Brooklyn. From the outside looking in, it may seem like a scene from the Sopranos but once you walk in your perception changes. You are welcomed immediately and if you decide to stay for a smoke the regulars will introduce themselves and include you in the conversation. I have been to many shops in the city and spent hours before anyone says a word. During the holidays many non-smokers enter the shop reluctantly, to purchase a gift for a loved one. Angelo the owner is patient and determines which cigar the customer would enjoy without trying sell the most expensive cigar. Angelo is a staple of the community and very generous to every charity in Bay ridge. Like most cigar shops it is always fascinating to see the camaraderie of cigar smokers that come from all walks of life and in the Humidor you will smoke a wonderful cigar in an incredible environment. read more

Visited this lounge on a cool rainy Friday with 3 other friends from Texas. Hands down the best time spent in NYC. These guys treat you like family and each other like a family. They all seem to love each other and show that love to complete strangers. Lounge is small, but just the right size to get a feel for the real people of NYC. You will not find the a place like this anywhere else in the country and I've been to many cigar lounges across the country. On the the cigar side, the prices were the cheapest in the NYC. They are about the same as Texas prices(we have .01% cigar tax). When I visit again, I will make a trip to Bay Ridge Brooklyn just to visit this place and maybe get a slice from Nino's again down the street. Imagine Goodfellows without the violence. read more

Cigars are something that I smoke on occasion in the warmer months. Its one of those things you hate, or you're totally enamoured with. I'm really neither because its really a warm weather kind of thing for me to kick back with a La Gloria Cubana Serie 5 or 6. This place is so cool, right in the middle of suburban Bay Ridge, a perfect stop indoors to do something normally suited for outdoors, but you'd rather be inside calling grandma to say hi while debating about who makes the best canolis. I swear to god its got that standoffish quality to it but when you walk in you feel right at home to sit down, smoke, talk, you know, the usual. The staff is very neighborhood and friendly; they know that their place is a rarity, its deep into brooklyn, and well its all about getting a clean cut. read more

I have a few caveats before my review: 1-I'm female and don't smoke cigars. 2-I know nothing about cigars. I went there for a birthday gift for a friend's birthday. He likes cigars so I tried this place because it's in my neighborhood. I walked in and every head snapped in my direction. This is definitely a guy's place. Anyway, the man who I presume was the owner jumped up to help. I told him I knew nothing and was there for a gift. He was helpful, patient, knowledgeable and helped package the cigars so they wouldn't dry out. All in all, a great experience! Visited this cigar store in Bay Ridge to buy my boyfriend a Christmas Gift. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They took their time and spent over 20 minutes showing me different lighters. While I was there all the customers were friendly and actually offered help and showed me some of the lighters they had bought. I found their prices to be competitive and purchased a beautiful Dupont lighter and couldn't resist purchasing a few cigars as well. What a great experience! read more

My First trip to New York and went with a group of cigar smokers. We checked out several lounges in Manhattan and they all were basically overpriced bars where you could smoke a cigar in. My idea of a lounge is a place where people gather and talk to each other not site at individual tables and whisper amongst themselves. When we went to the Humidor we were immediately greeted and when we told them we were from Texas they actually asked some of their regulars to get up and let their friends from Texas sit. One member brought in a box of cannoli's and shared them with everyone in the lounge and when we asked about coffee they went next door and promptly brought us some back and when asked how much they replied in their best Brooklyn accent "Fogetta bout it". They place is BYOB and their cigar rices are the best we found all trip. We wound up spending the whole afternoon there and they have a great little Pizza place *Ninas" a few doors down. They are not the biggest cigar lounge but they had the biggest heart and truly made us feel welcome. If I ever make it back to New York I will for sure make it a stop. read more
