My only complaint is that the museum can get pretty crowded, so I definitely recommend getting there early if you want a little more space to enjoy everything. I'm also really excited and grateful that they are planning to expand the museum, which will create more exhibit space and hopefully help with the crowds.

All 3 were a hit w/my kids. - lots of other hands on activities inside to include a treehouse where kids can load apples and send them up and down baskets, my kids love that when they were little. - very popular air launchers to shoot wind spinners. - a huge manual pinball machine that is super fun, my kids never tired of making the pinball launch over and over. - a miniature train set that goes around, it's on the 2nd floor. - plenty of outdoors activities and play areas. - a little stream for water play, little kids love that. - a real life former medical helicopter (a bit random, but still cool). - a climbing structure, and a few other play areas also. - so many ways to tire your kids out, guaranteed a good nap on the way home and they'll prob sleep a lot that night. Minuses: - The building indoors is really quite packed. The different features are each thoughtfully designed and very nice and colorful, but it can get crowded here. - Pretty expensive admission. We got a discount, but I think their prices have increased. All in all, a great little place and good for creative play for kids maybe up to like 5th-6th grade at most, but best for 9 or younger probably.

I have been wanting to visit Safari West for quite some time. We were able to finally check them…read moreout during the recent Labor Day weekend. We arrived on Labor Day Monday. The safari zoo is located in the dry rural hills of Santa Rosa. Parking is accessible in the parking lot out front. We made reservations for the 2:00pm Safari Tour. Apparently weekend and holiday reservations are recommended to book early as it will fill up quickly for your party. The checking in process was fast and easy. Once you meet the guide, they let everyone in your jeep truck know the rules and expectations of the tour. Since it was a hot humid day, our party of 4 decided to sit underneath the roof of the jeep truck. The seats atop of the roof look tempting and adventurous but the sun was unbearable. Our safari tour was amazing. First of all I did not realize how huge the Safari West was. There was so many acres of vast land for the animals to roam around. We did not even see the glamping side of the property. Our guide Dano was knowledgeable and charismatic. He was attentive and answered all our questions. We were all engaged and could not tell the tour was 3 hours long. We were able to get a nice close up interaction with most of the animals. Some of the animals that stood out were the ostrich, giraffes, and the long horn bulls. The walk through bird sanctuary was fascinating. It was nice to see the vast variety of birds species in their habitat. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Safari West. The staff were nice and accommodating. I thought both the snacks shop and gifts shop were fantastic. It was a nice touch that wine and craft beer were being sold. There were a lot of unique souvenirs that were authentic and charming. The tour was worth the price in my opinion. I think of it in this way, it's a helluva a lot cheaper than flying out to Africa. I definitely recommend anyone interested to experience the Safari West at least once.

Upon checking in, we realized I made an error on the reservation date! I freaked out and was nearly in tears but they were willing to find time to accommodate us. I think it helped we went on a weekday but still we could have lost our tickets had they not been willing to help us. We got to do our pre-paid lunch as well which was soooo good! Next time I would love to try dinner. All the animals were out and visible and my kids loved seeing them all.

Daniel was so knowledgeable, answered all the questions we had and more and genuinely cared for all of the animals we met. Don't skip the roos, they are so soft and we got to spend time with mama to be Lulu and baby Onya. They take in animals from various circumstances, including those confiscated from the illegal animal trade, and care for them and find other homes for them like zoos or aquariums. I highly recommend a visit to Wine County Zoological, its perfect for a memorable experience for a special occasion.

The capybara is a large animal, and it was pretty surprising and amusing that the female came over and after having her snacks from us would lay down for belly rubs, just like a dog . The sloths were adorable and the little armadillo was very personable. It was enjoyable holding and admiring him.. The tour is educational, fun and rewarding and the money goes for the upkeep and vet bills of all these wonderful wildlife animals . They are a joy.

The prices are extremely reasonable for quite a few hours of enjoyable family time. Additionally, this is one of the few things to do in Guerneville that isn't a physical activity or eating/drinking. Unfortunately, I felt like I had to take a star off because this place is super run-down. Many of the greens are torn up, which makes it challenging to play each hole. There is also a lot of stuff everywhere, making the space feel cluttered and dirty in some areas. Compared to other mini golf courses I have been to, this one ranks fairly low on upkeep. Overall, a fun place to enjoy some time as a family. Great for young, old, and everyone in between. Just don't expect top-of-the-line greens or a pristine course.

A business built for children should understand that kids develop at vastly different paces and there is no rigid standard for every age. My son was born four months premature. While his birth certificate says 18 months, his physical size, adjusted age, and motor skills are at a 12-14 month level, and he has only just started walking.The front desk took our payment first with zero warning. Only after we had already paid did they inform us that he was couldn't enter the 18-month-and-under section. When I tried explaining that he is a preemie, the staff member argued back and forth, claiming his adjusted age "doesn't matter" and that they strictly enforce birth age and weight but they do t know what he actually weighs. Because they forced him into the main play area, the bigger kids were running circles around him while he was barely finding his footing. It was a complete safety hazard that defeated the entire purpose of having a protected toddler zone. I wish they had disclosed this rule prior to us paying. If you are visiting the area or have a child who was born premature, be aware. Edit: The owner personally reached out to apologize, issued a full refund, and ensured the team was coached moving forward. I really appreciate the accountability and customer care!

They have hands on and interactive exhibits for children to play with. Most of the exhibits were well maintained. It is an interesting way to spend an hour. The staff, at least on the day were there, was fantastic. Since we were the only ones there, she almost gave us a personalized tour to explain some of the exhibits and talk about the lab and what they do. They have an easy scavenger hunt for children with a nice t-shirt as a prize. They are pretty generous with the scavenger hunt and let children of all ages play. The museum is priced just right for most Yelpers. It is free! It's a nice place, with not a lot of visitors.

The entrance is like walking through a castle to a whole new world gated inside. It was clean, grassy, huge and open spaces with different areas to play for the kids. There are benches and picnic tables everywhere too. They also have restrooms on site too. Lots of grassy and shady areas to hang out as well. Our grandbaby had a great time running everywhere to her hearts content and she cannot wait to go back again with her parents.
