I've been here a couple times and it's always been ok and I've had no issues except for this visit. I brought 3 of my granddaughters and it was pretty slow. There was another small group, a little baby and another little girl about 7yrs old. We were there for about 10 mins and I noticed this little girl kept messing with the kids from the other group but I thought they were together so I didn't say anything. I watched her push a little girl, take stuff from them and throw things at them. That's when I realized she was there but no one was watching her. We left after an hour and as we were putting our shoes on I noticed the employee was talking to her and then I seen a lady sitting down by the arts and crafts table that maybe was her mom but still wasn't sure. I know kids will be kids but the employees should make sure that ALL kids are being supervised by an adult because somebody could have really gotten hurt. I also noticed that their policy is to wear socks yet this little girl was not wearing any. It just wasn't a good visit for me and I cut the playtime short because I was concerned for my granddaughters safety with this little girl going around and just picking on kids and taking stuff from them for no reason.

Great space for multiple levels of play. Both my girls (3 and 6) enjoyed themselves. Staff were friendly and attentive.

And I will begin my quest with the world's champion of parks. Growing up, this place was known simply as the Ukiah Municipal Park. I'm not sure when the whole Todd Grove thing happened, but it's the in thing to name parks after people. I'm all good with that. Some of the park kid toys are gone, but the giant tractor tires remain. What is it about a giant rubber tire that would get me to spend countless hours entertaining me? The parks iconic symbol to me was always the rocket. Now that was the single biggest childhood attraction for me growing up in the entire town. I still remember the day I felt like one of the big kids when I finally stopped my crying and summited the very top. I swear you could see the Golden Gate Bridge from there. Sir Edmund Hillary has nothing on me. . This park includes two swimming pools, plenty of picnics and countless trees that provide protection and shade from the hot summer sun. I took swimming lessons here as a kid and is where I conquered my fear of the water. I cannot even begin to count the fond memories of this place. From the family summer outings, to the yearly school picnics this place will always hold a special place in my heart.

This ensures a positive experience for both parties and prevents overstimulation. During the tour, the animals are placed in a smaller pens so they can come up to interact but even then, there's plenty of room for them to choose not to come up. After the tours, the larger animals have access to larger acres of land to roam and run. Our guides are knowledgeable and great at interacting with guests of all ages. They ensured everyone had a safe, fun, and educational time. The tour brings you into one full loop and ends at the parking lot which is pretty convenient. At the end of the tour, we got to a choose a calendar to take home. Overall, highly recommend to book a tour and come visit. We had an incredible time learning and interacting with the animals.

Pros: - love what they are doing by taking in animals when their owners need help with caring for them - fairly affordable, group tour was $100 - they provided lots of carrots and lettuce for the animals! Cons: - I would have loved learning more about the animals, we were only provided information when we asked questions 1:1 with tour guide.

We took our kids, ages 8 and 6, and they LOVED it! Our tour guide, Nicole, was awesome! She has been at Safari West for 4 years and really knows the animals, their behaviors and all the fun facts (along with some great jokes!). The jeep tour was about 2 hours, but it is engaging the whole time. We were lucky and got to see several brand new babies of multiple species!! We were all able to take turns sitting on top of the jeep, but sitting on the inside was great as well. After a short break, we did the walking tour which was the perfect ending. Also, we highly recommend the lunch buffet (which must be booked 48 hrs prior to arrival). We were all pleasantly surprised with how great the food was, plus it was kid approved as well! During our break, enjoyed some snacks from Delilah's - the dole whip was a favorite! Thank you Safari West for the awesome memories.

Our tour guide, Megan, was wonderful, friendly, engaging, and great at making the experience enjoyable despite the weather. My little one was beyond excited and kept calling it "going on an adventure," which made it even more special. That said, there weren't as many animals out to see, probably because of the rain, since some were hiding inside. The stop and go process to open and close the gates along the way was also a bit annoying and felt like it slowed things down at times. Toward the end of our tour, the rain picked up from a light shower to a heavy downpour, but we were able to finish in time. Seeing how happy my little one was made it all worth it. She sat up top with her dad and had an amazing time. ***One thing to keep in mind is that there is no cell service at the location, so plan accordingly. We didn't stay overnight, so I can't speak to the Wi-Fi situation, but if you need connectivity, you'll have to drive back into the city.*** P.S. Avoid going on rainy days!
