I might be wrong on the name but lorenzo did my IV and got it in first try . Excellence in care !! My anesthesiologist was Dr Drew Tsakos ! MORE EXCELLENCE before i even got the whole sentence out that i needed anti nausea he was already pumping it in. Then i was OUT. woke up , no vomiting because he gave me another dose before i woke up . Thank you Dr Drew , you made post op better than expected . We connected on another personal level which I cannot say enough for his strength and courage so if you are lucky enough to get Dr Drew Tsakos for your anesthesiologist you'll have a great post op experience. Marjorie was my recovery nurse and luckily i was right outside the station so she was ON IT i went though 4boxes of tissues post exam . it was all 5 star again. Go check in at the main hospital desk and ask for instructions the message left by the dept told me to go to the second floor down the long hallway to register and ready for exam. they were wrong . Diagnostic OP pulmonary and Cardiac is on the first floor - rightfully for people who may not be ambulatory . Thank God I am ambulatory . The hospital Mri dept blew so they were using their Mobile MRI for imaging , had one before surgery, everyone was masked except the main technician and while i was out in the waiting area near him (guy with beard and no it unfortunately was not santa ) he let out a giant sneeze with mask down over his chin and i didn't hold back . He's the damn medical professional and he's sneezing in open HE KNOWS BETTER . the lady before me in the room was at least 90, i felt really bad for her cuz she couldn't cover she was in the mri . i covered my face quickly. Dude! we're here for a lung issue are you kidding me?? I'm not going to ding a star for the bad MRI dude but please if your sick don't go to work especially at a hospital . I'm sure there's plenty of people who could sub for them

My husband had surgery here yesterday and I am so disappointed with the recovery room nurses. I…read morewant to start out by saying that the volunteers who work outside of the recovery room were phenomenal, so kind, and helpful. But unfortunately, that's where it ended. I went into the recovery room the first time and everything seemed fine and the specific nurse who was assigned to my husband was okay. When I was told it would be about an hour before he would be discharged I went to get something to eat. When I returned I waited 15 minutes past the time I was told to return and finally was admitted to the recovery room. The nurse who was preparing his discharge papers grew very impatient with my husband because he was clearly having trouble putting his sweatpants back on. Rather than help him (I didn't want to touch anything-it was urology surgery so he had to go home with a catheter for 3 days) she watched him struggle for about fifteen minutes. He was in pain and it was very hard to bend. Finally he got his pants on then the nurse berated him for not putting the catheter bag into his pants correctly. I mean, he's not a doctor and I don't understand why she was so unwilling to help. Next she gave my husband directions (when he was still coming off anesthesia) to empty the catheter bag. When my husband didn't understand her, the nurse began saying to him, "I told you-this is what to do. I just told you!" Very unprofessional. When he was not responsive to her, she enlisted me to do it, even though I said I could not do it and felt uncomfortable going home not understanding how to do it. She then went on about blood clots and all of the negative things that could happen and never addressed our problem. When we left the hospital, I had to make a million phone calls to get home health care to come to our house. I blame this on the surgeon not making a referral in the first place and the hospital being so rude. I would recommend that the recovery nurses get some patient training in patience and professionalism.

NOTE: I worked Exclusively with April Godales…read more To begin with, I looked for someone to help in dealing with my mom for months. Had hideous luck. Some made things sound too easy, brought New Age Ethics into a Alzheimers Dementia situation that really wasn't apropos, and there were others who were more interested in me having Power Of Atty or an updated Advanced Health Care Directive. I met with people that before they came to the house admitted they were at best semi-competent. I am an Only Child, have no family, friends or neighbors who can help in a hands on way. Before April, I was completely adrift. April Godales and my family always worked on a handshake deal. She visited the family home. The Nursing Facility my mom was at after her fall had given her multiple fractures, and even was there 12 hours before my mom got to the Assisted Living to make sure the bed arrived properly. IT wasn't only April that told me ins and outs of my mom's Medicare and Insurance situation, it was April who guided me through where to get my mom decent Furnishings. To wit, my mom began in a Respite Stay situation and when I realized my mom should simply be a Long-Term Resident with 6 days to get everything within the unit. April didn't blink an eye. She was around on weekends and available until 10pm most nights. April Godales is a A Level Sherpa. I honestly don't know where I--and much more importantly my Mother--would be without her. But here's the thing: I still had a physical and mental breakdown the day after my mom got to her destination and was safe & happy watching her favorite channels on her new Color TV. April was an unparalleled guide. But it has to be a family member making all the toughest decisions. The thing that was great about her was she laid everything out in an understandable way, and left the client to formulate the best decision for the elderly loved one. April knows this. The Case Managers and Insurance Specialists at facilities know this. But I am not sure that all the people who will contact Assisted Living Locators fully grasp where her job ends, and family's responsibilities now begin. She does a world class job as a professional. But the weight still has to fall upon family shoulders. You have to do your own heavy lifting for the family member you love. You cannot phone it in. That said, I looked for months and April & Assisted Living Locators were the only team at all worth their salt when the chips were down and the walls were closing in all around around me.

Assisted Living can't take people who are bed bound. So that leaves Board and Care facilities. I really appreciate her taking the time to help me..

My mom has a quiet private room with a private bath off the shared living room. The staff keep an eye on her via a cam and microphone in her room - and they are never far away from her. My mom has everything she needs here. When she first arrived, I accompanied Hilda to the market to help her discover the kinds of foods my mom likes - talk about personal service! There is also a beautiful garden with wheelchair access. Hilda also has a handicap-access van and can take my mom to the doctor if/when that is necessary. The staff always makes sure my mom is clean, comfortable and warm. They apply creams to her body and face. They feed her when she needs assistance and help her with showers and other needs in the bathroom. Best of all is Bruce, the "therapy pup" at My Mother's Place. Bruce is a lap dog and loves attention. If you have a friend or relative who needs excellent care, I suggest you call my mother's place to arrange a tour of the facility.

Turnover amount staff is high - they can't even retain employees so they hire outside agency to fill in and many times those people don't show up for their shifts which leaves for an understaffed floor. 5. The food is fine except for the fact my father is a pescatarian and they continually serve him meat. 6. Staff are often on their phones while on duty while residents just stare into space. The best part was when I complained about the facility being understaffed and Chad the senior VP recommended me handing out flyers around town to drum up employee interest. I could go on and on about this place. Only go if you have no other option, and are willing to pay high rates.

I've recently began taking an excellent Spanish language class that meets weekly and love using the salt water pool that's heated to 85 degrees! I began a program that screened all the fine documentary films of Amanda Pope who had recently retired after a 30- year career at USC's School of Cinema teaching both directing & documentary film making. Amanda introduced her films & shared fascinating "behind the scenes" info. She also stays to do a Q&A with the audience post screening. I really wanted to give Belmont a 4.5 rating, but there was no option to do so. There is no perfect, but aside from a dining room with poor acoustics, I think it's a great place to find companionship, a stimulating environment and an opportunity to have great fun and continue growing as we age! Before signing off, I must note that the well trained staff gets great credit for taking such good care of us. Many young people are available to help us with technology, the house keepers become good friends, the drivers get us to appointments on time and the engineers are great at fixing things in our apartments. They are the underpinnings of our stress free life. Audrey Stein
