This place is great. Located in the central coast. Venue is wonderful and so are the staff.

Came here for the Ron Otto memorial race, what a great show this track puts on! They really keep things moving very little down time in between. For for $40 my boyfriend and I got to spend 7 hours watching different classes of racing and got a tasty root beer float. They have food too that looked pretty good. Parking was free, make sure to bring something comfortable to sit on though!

We went for the Halloween bash, super kid friendly event and fun for the adults too!!! Great food, good quick & friendly service from parking staff, to food/drinks staff, drivers & mc, and merchandise staff all night long. We look forward to returning again!!!

    Beautiful racing backdrop.

You will love it if you're a racing fan like me. Parking is $2.00 and it's a dirt road. You will be there for more than 5 hours so bring comfortable seating. The labor event was good. Audience has their favorites and they are respectable of other people and to the show. There are souvenir programs on sales for $3.00 and shirts as cheap as $10.00. Their sweatshirts are $35.00 worth it of you like that kind of thing. The announcer was very knowledgeable and pleasant. They have raffles for 6 pcs for $5.00 and you win a case price. They give away stuff during intermission like gages and shirts from sponsors. We will come again. Very pleasant experience.

The best place to race or watch on the central coast. Very scenic track. Ticket prices are affordable and the food and entertainment is outstanding. This is a great place to bring family, friends or anyone for that matter.

Our visit didn't turn out as we hoped though. As we entered the cultural center, we were greeted. We were told that the admission was $15 each. We asked what that included. It includes the self guide tour for the grounds, no entry into the adobe since no one is there now. It was not free to walk around the grounds or view the cultural center. The contents of the grounds was not described, so being short on time and not willing to spend $30 for unknown sites, we declined and left. The adobe is set further back from the center and not fully visible from the parking lot. But from the lot, in the distance I did see they have an outdoor paved patio with gorgeous views of the valley. This isn't the end of this story. As we were walking out, I noticed the admission info board folded up and set up against the wall. The price was $8 for self guided and $10 including the Adobe. Hmm. We were told some tall tales. I'm thinking back now and wonder about the folks that just bypassed the cultural center and walked about the grounds and patio for free.

We found out about the Dana family was given a Mexican land grant of thousands of acres called Rancho Nipomo. The sweet lady behind the info desk offered a tour of the Adobe home for $10 each. We immediately said yes and off we went. We learned that William Dana was a Sea Captain who married into the Santa Barbara Carrillo family. They built a large adobe home to accommodated 21 children. The house has been lovingly restored to demonstrate the Dana's life during the Rancho period. Outside is a vegetable garden and a vineyard with mission grape vines. The scenery is beautiful and I could just imagine what it was like to live there.

The wines themselves are excellent and easily compete with Santa Maria's other offerings. I tried all of the wines on their tasting flight, and it's nice to see that the college grows so many different varietals. Some of my favorites were the Albariño (bonus points for growing this varietal on site), Chardonnay, 2015 Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Malbec (the only non-estate offering). I ended up taking a bottle of the pinot home. The service is great! We had a first-year student helping us who was very knowledgeable about the wines and the enology and viticulture program at AHC. For reference, this was on August 17 around 3 pm, so whoever that was, major props to you! The current schedule for the Fall 2018 semester is Friday, 2-6, so make sure to stop by if you're in Santa Maria!

I do not give standing ovations for every play I see, though I generally DO quite enjoy them. I stand when I have been extraordinarily impressed. Both "Front Page" and "Shane" have been such plays for me. (I wish they would perform Front Page again sometime.) I recently attended "Shane". I was very curious how they might take this old favorite and put it on their stage. It was quite different and obviously took a LOT of ingenuity. And that ingenuity significantly improved the play. The set was quite simple and the technique they used for scene changes was brilliant. All the emotion was preserved... and enhanced by techniques one would not expect. For example, fight scenes were dramatically enhanced by the actors being spaced quite far from each other, bringing out each character's individual perspective. "Joey Starett" narrated most of the play... seamlessly. This was a truly awesome experience.
