Such a fun place to spend some time. We loved all of the pinball machines and retro games. There use to be more but looks like they got rid of some for some... claw machines and whatnot. There are plenty of places to sit and hangout. They have beer on tap and other drinks as well. There are restrooms available.

A "bar arcade" is a great way to please the parents & keep the kids happy, too. A good spot in the middle of downtown SLO to spend 1-2 hours. They have pool tables, air hockey, karaoke, pinball, and a mid-size selection of arcade games including the most popular old-skool choices. They serve beer and wineonly with a selection to choose from. The bathroom is clean, the service good & people friendly. Sunday now is a perfect night for locals. No parking mess to contend with. I haven't tasted the food either of the 2 times I've been here, the reason for the 4 stars. Kitchen closes early. Will update once I've tried the food.

Highly recommend the cream soda beer it was tasty. If you like sweet beers you'd love this. The bartender was super nice gave us a sampling. Came on trivia night which I thought was karaoke. The place was packed but no one really buying drinks or playing games. Seems like just a place for college students to take up space. Seen a lot of barcades fail in college towns. You need to have a drink minimum. I like the decor and the selection of games. I was kind of disappointed with the dance rush stardom. The bar music was so loud I couldn't even hear the games music. The tech needs to adjust that. I think if you're a real collector you'd be a little disappointed with all the crt conversion but it makes sense business stand point. They also had crane machines and great selection of pinball. I like how clean the arcade is. It's a coin arcade so bring cash so you don't have to use the atm inside and pay a fee

A new business in downtown SLO that is a retro throwback to the 80's! BA Start is a video arcade lounge with pool tables, bar ( beer and wine), stage and tons of old school stand-up arcade games. At 8 pm it's 18 years and above for a more mature crowd. They do have a small kitchen so you can eat while you're gaming. You play with tokens, there are monthly tournaments with prizes. They'll let you rent out the entire place for events, birthdays or parties. I showed up just before farmers market and the place was bouncing. I brought a Linkin and he was allowed no problems. What a fun place to hang out! The decor is a work in progress, it truly feels like the 80's Regency Game Palace. Music is playing, the place isn't brand new, where else could we enjoy these iconic video games but here. Update: I recently went in to play pool and video games. I still feel like this is a different place, it's not Boomers or CC, parents should expect an 80's vibe in here. Everyone that works here is friendly and they truly want to make this place work. My only snark is the kitchen, I'd focus more attention on updating or making it "self-serv," but then again, maybe people don't mind as much. Overall B+

Inappropriate in the mens bathroom. A little boy came out asking about thr man covered in blood.

We were excited for the arcade to open. Here on a Sunday afternoon at 3. Guess today is the second day they have been open. I hate leaving bad reviews but this just didn't sit right. The food: Got the panini. Cheese wasn't melted and the side salad was a few pieces of Lettuce with no dressing. Pretty disappointed but I guess it's the same as bowling ally food. The female bartender really needs to learn what attire is appropriate around children. Her shirt dipped almost to her belly button and her breasts were falling out. Multiple people were commenting on her attire. Wear something over the shirt until the 8pm 21+ starts. There are children as young as 4 here playing the games. The games were fun. The water container was empty the entire time we were there. The mens bathroom had completely inappropriate artwork for children to be seeing. A little boy came out talking about the guy with bloody hands.. come on guys.... really ??? .... the women's restrooms artwork was just as bad and not appropriate If it was labeled as an adult arcade I can see where these things are okay but the over 21 doesn't start until 8pm. The two stars is for the beer list and the nice guy helping us at the bar. We are pretty disappointed. Great concept but things really need to worked out if you are bringing your child here. Updated...we finished our tokens and multiple games we played didn't work properly including pinball.

There are carvings and decorative items all about. Cozy and warm. Historically, there are stories about the various objects and mounted animals. Their menu features a scavenger hunt, which we unsuccessfully tried. The menu is a masterpiece of everything. there is a grazing menu, sandwiches, entrees, a forage menu of basic veggie presentations, and a bar with quite a few very cleaver offerings. Absolutely fascinating interior. Go inside to take it in. You will be struck amazed. Wife and I came in for dinner and were not disappointed. We felt the warmth. Specialty cocktails, draft beer, bottled beer lounge draft 16oz beers and wine by the glass. They also have some fancy custom non-alcohol cocktails. Everyone should be happy. Service was "on" but fulfillment was "off". Wait staff hustled but had to wait for bar and kitchen to come through faster. I don't usually order specialty/fancy cocktails, but was intrigued with a Feral Martini ($17). Got it and found it to be lacking flavor or anything special. It was watery and disappointing. Was surprised when I shared my feelings with our server Camille O. who took it back, credited it from our bill and brought me a replacement of my choice. Way to go! Had a Manhattan ($12) and wife had a red blend wine ($13.50). Now or our meals. Funny that we both has short rib entrees. Wife did the Taco 'bout Delicious ($21), which was short ribs with oaxaca cheese, cilantro, and a dip of house-made consomme. Like a French dip, but different. She dipped and liked it all. My selection of Braise The Bar ($29) was short ribs surmounting a mound of sage-mashed potatoes dosed with pickled onions, blistered shishito peppers (a favorite of mine) and fresh cilantro. An explosion in my mouth and truly yummy. Nothing served here is usual. Some very cleaver people spent a lot of creative energy to architect entrees, cocktails and the rest of the menu so as to be uniquely delicious. My Yelp! profile does not contain many 5-star ratings but now has this one for Feral. Give it a try and this would be a great first date of small group venture.

Both got dishes featuring short ribs, him the mac and cheese, me the entree with mashed potatoes. Pros 1. The pre-dinner cocktails were tasty. 2. The servers were very nice. Cons 1. Wanted wine with dinner. In the middle of California wine country they had only a handful of supermarket-quality wines. 2. The short run was dry and not very flavorful in both dishes. 3. The starches on both plates were not well-prepred. The mac and cheese was SO dry and the mashed potatoes were cold and lacked seasoning. 4. The starter or appetizer selection is quite limited. This wasn't a good meal, and it wasn't a cheap one, either. We won't be back.

I've tried almost all the pizzas (especially during Mondays as they are half off) and my favorites are the Salmon & Caviar and Mushroom pizza. You honestly can't go wrong with the Mushroom with goat cheese one but if you're feeling a treat, do get the salmon and caviar!! It is so so good, got to try it and definitely will try it again! The service now has disappointment me every now and then. I don't know if it was because of the soccer game or if it's always this busy, but that's usually a good sign. Even with the crowd, our party of six was seated almost immediately. The menu was excellent--not one of those places with ten pages of random items. It was well thought out and made it easy to choose. My wife and I both ordered the jalapeño burger (I can't remember the official name) with a side of tater tots. My son ordered the tuna, my daughter had the chicken tenders, and my nephew and niece both went with the barbecue burger. The food came out surprisingly fast, and then it was time to eat. Wow. This was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. My wife would not stop talking about hers. Her exact words were, "This burger tastes beefy." I'm still not exactly sure what that means, but judging by how fast she finished it, I'd say she absolutely loved it. To top it all off, our amazing waitress surprised my wife with a complimentary cookie sundae for her birthday. I really wish I had caught her name. She had curly hair and glasses, and she was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I was not impressed with their margarita flight but who cares, it was about the food. If you're looking for an incredible burger, great service, and a fun atmosphere in San Luis Obispo, Finney's Crafthouse is definitely worth the visit. Before even getting the drink, I got the check and closed out since I was waiting for a table. After waiting a couple of minutes, I finally got a table so I decided to close out while my drink was still getting prepared. When it came out, I took it to my table but it was not good. I told the waitress that it wasn't good and ordered a different drink and she delivered it but didn't tell me that I was going to get charged for it (and that was after I had asked if I was getting charged for it). After I told the waitress, she said she had to talk to her manager and luckily they took it off the bill. In terms of the food, it was okay. The lights were really dim so I felt as if I was eating in the dark.
