Crowded most of the time and there is huge line to go inside. Everything is in order. So if you don't like to stay in the line, then i'd suggest to come as early as possible then the chances of finding the line to be short will be higher. The number of stairs going up can be a lot and the workout of going up and down can be quite intensive. If you are faint on heart, then you may have to take proper precautions and bring drinks to stay hydrated. They don't allow backpacks into the Duomo, so you may have to leave it to the backpack check in location. The view is majestic and the architecture is full of details and its surprising that it was done centuries ago... Definitely worth coming to this place! read more

I was very impressed by the quality of care I received at this hospital. They were very thorough, the nurses were friendly and the doctors very professional. They have all the diagnostic machines right there in the hospital. The food was delicious and they actually let patients sleep and rest. Nobody ever woke me up in the middle of the night to take my vital signs. I've never been treated this well in any American hospital. I also liked that there were no televisions in the rooms. I got to talk to other patients which I enjoyed. read more

Took my wife into the emergency room with a UTI, wait time for triage was 5 min, total time spent was 60 minutes, got a prescription for antibiotics. Paid only 25€ for this great and unstressful service, antibiotic was only 4€... wow! Hospital area was clean, staff courteous and spoke English read more

Went to the ER because I had to have a prescription from a European doctor to get some antibiotics. The wait was less than an hour and the charge was only 25€ - a mere fraction of the cost of an ER visit in the US. The doctor wasn't particularly thorough but hopefully the rx will take care of the issue. read more

Had an anaphylactic reaction. Was unable to communicate with the nurses and doctor. I had already done one epi before going to ER, but within 10 mins there it began to wear off. As someone who has almost died of an anaphylactic reaction I know when I need another dose of epi because the first has worn off. Because I looked ok they refused to give me anything and would not let my mother (a physician) into the room. Eventually they let her in and I proceeded to tell them over and over again I needed another dose of epi. They refused yet again and within minutes my O2 saturation dropped to 80. I almost died. Their bedside manner was nonexistent and they were some of the rudest medical staff that I have ever had to deal with. I genuinely thought I was going to die and they refused to give me anything to help keep my throat from closing until I was turning blue and physically could not breathe. Disturbing. In September 2019 my husband contracted pneumonia (Legionnaire's Disease) probably from a dirty air conditioner in a grubby hotel in Mestre near Venice. He was in hospital for 13 days and had excellent care throughout. Very careful monitoring by all staff, Intensive care for four days, then sub intensive for six, and general ward for three. We can't say enough good things about this hospital. The building is older, not sleek and modern, but the equipment and protocols are up to date. Communication was a bit of a problem but there would always be someone I could talk to in English at least once a day. Many thanks to all the staff, from aides up to doctors. First rate. read more

My son was a student in Florence fall 2018. He went to this ER with horrible abdominal pain. They let him sit in the waiting room for hours. His appendix ruptured and he became septic. When they finally got around to the actual surgery, his doc was good. Post op all he got for pain was acetaminophen. And he left the hospital covered in bed bug bites. read more
