Traveling in Santa Fe and did a leg workout in hotel with sore legs. Found the yoga studio on ClassPass and went with a Saturday morning prana flow class. Glad that I made a reservation the day prior. It was fully booked out. I arrived 20 min prior. Was able to get mat, towel rentals (first visit with free rentals). The front desk gave a good overview of the studio. Once you walk in, to the right are cycling rooms, change rooms/shower rooms. To the left was the yoga studio. They offer a good variety of accessories, cork blocks or soft blocks. Etc. I didn't see foam roller but I could have missed it completely. Mat and mat towels are good. But it is common rental mat issue with some smells. The mat towel comes with good grip. Prana flow was good with excellent breath work. The chanting was greatly appreciated too. I found the fellow students seem to have practiced for a while. Some with great techniques and postures. Teacher here was awesome too. This seems to be a solid choice in Santa Fe. Glad that I found it and get to stretch out while in town. read more

Such a wonderful studio!! I have been practicing yoga for 30 years so I can be a little particular about studios and teachers. I was only in town for the winter and thought, what the heck, try a whole bunch of new classes. And I'm so happy I did. Took Shenyse's 4:15 p.m. spin class and WOW--seriously one of the best classes I've ever taken. Her energy is contagious, the playlist was , and she knows exactly how to push you while still making it fun and empowering. The ride flew by and I left feeling strong, motivated, and on such a high. I have visited Santa Fe Thrive multiple times for many years traveling. I'm going to break this down in pros and cons, which I hope they would consider using to improve the studio. Pros: It's a good studion in the sense that they have great facilities, and good set up. The manager is great as are a few of the teachers. Their mats and studio are clean, and they clean the facility a lot. They put nice natural products for clients to use. Their towels and yoga props are of great quality and clean as well. Cons: There is however an attitude from some teachers that can be both condescending, and for those knowledgeable enough, it's due to their lack of skills. There are some teachers that say that they have a certain amount of hour teacher trainings under their belt, but that isn't backed by knowing how to pronounce the postures, or even giving the correct name of postures, improper sequencing, and also lack of proper apex posture choice, completely adding too much demand on students who aren't properly conditioned to get to said postures. One teacher teaches against what other teachers say while not holding proper form herself. This causes confusion for the students. Adding to that topic, there are also teachers there that do nothing to correct improper posture and alignment paired with ignorance to what such settings cause. Especially one class that is a fixed series. That teacher does nothing to redirect many seniors and younger that are continually hurting their bodies overtime, and not getting the benefits they could if proper instruction had been conducted. On top of that they advertise hot yoga. There are no hot classes here. All of their "hottest" classes are warm in most part of the world. Their "warm" classes are unheated in comparison. Not to mention their unheated classes. Especially in the winter... There can be classes that feel hotter due to higher humidity caused by attendance. Many times the heat will turn on once in a class or not at all, which is so sad for those coming with legit health issues. That said, years ago when I came through there were a few great teachers who held well heated classes on the lower spectrum of hot. Not sure if this is coming from ownership or management/teachers. There are incredible benefits from higher heat in classes and the studios I visit who don't fuss with the heat, draw the best crowds worldwide. I'm a 2000 hour seasoned yoga teacher and practitioner with a ton of ailments due to unfortunate cards dealt in my life. The lack of heat in this studio feels either ignorant or it's due to the fact that the staff doesn't want to clean or maintain a properly heated studio. On top of this their prices are too high for what they offer. Had their studio followed more on top studio standards, they could justify the price, but given that the town south of Santa Fe has more great studios than most cities I visit, it's made me schedule more work in that town than in Santa Fe. Unfortunately, Santa Fe is lacking a proper hot yoga studio. Neither Santa Fe Thrive or Dirty Laundry deliver. I think this studio could do great if it simply embraced a more level minded approach to heating the classes and making sure instructors are properly skilled and in synch. I will still visit when I have work in Santa Fe, but if I can I'll opt the town south. read more

I researched where to go for hot yoga while in town for one day. I'm cycling across the country and so badly miss my hot yoga. I typically do hot yoga 3 times a week. Thrive far exceeded my expectations for hot yoga. Abby was a great instructor. The room has padded floors and while it was a full class, we had space. Because it was my first time there they let me borrow a mat and a yoga towel/mat. They even have small towels for during you can use. After class I was able to use another towel to take a quick shower, all included. Thank you so much, I'll be back when I'm in Santa Fe again! The shopping center it's located in has a nice healthy grocery store and a sushi place next to it. Also recommend. read more

Most amazing studio! I was in Santa Fe for 4 days and took 6 classes here. I wish I could have taken more. I took two hot vinyasa classes with Hannah (awesome!), two kick-ass spin classes with Carin (amazing!), a hot 26 & 2 with Bea (wow!) and an early AM power vinyasa with Rae (really good!). The studio is clean and bright, everyone is kind and friendly. Carin greeted me by name both days and made me feel very welcome, as did the other guests. The teachers (both spin and yoga) are super knowledgeable and teach at varying levels, encouraging without pushing. I have to say I really wish I could transport this studio to my hometown and take classes with them every day. But, in lieu of that, I will definitely return to visit --- and you should too! read more

I've done many different spin classes in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. The workout that I received from Santa Fe Thrive was one of a kind. 45 minutes of endurance circuit training won my heart, and had me thinking "shut up legs" which is exactly what I was looking for. The cycling room is pretty sweet, to say the least. The instructor (Julia) laid down some upbeat club music to keep the pace, and set the scene with control of the light, that which reminds me of a Friday night at da club! I must admit when I first attended Thrive I was not too crazy about the dark room and padded floor because it complicates my balance practice. However, over time I have embraced and my balance has been challenged and it's improved. I enjoy the instructors. Like any studio, there is a class for everyone, you just need to find the right fit. At first was perplexed by the late policy which is enforced at Thrive. I have been the person who walks in 5 mins late, attempts to quietly unfurl my mat, and maybe even has people reposition to accommodate. I didn't care. I've also been the person who has been in a class when 1 or 2 have arrived late and the entire class has to stop and reposition. I've even been the asshole person who refuses to move. To have and enforce a no-late policy seems rigid yet fair to those who have settled in. read more

I have been here numerous times and actually have sent quite a few of my clients to this studio. DO NOT SHOW UP EVEN 1 MINUTE LATE. I pulled up at exactly 630 AM, yes in the morning before the sun even came up. I was at the front desk at 6:31 and they wouldn't let me in to the class I had signed up for. I understand policies as I own a local business and structure is important for optimal experience. The environment is sterile and the front desk customer service is below mediocre. This is all a little humorous considering they are a hot yoga studio with no warmth (a little ass backwards if you ask me). Overall yoga classes are okay-most teachers I have gone to are decently knowledgeable. Previous issues have always been front desk lacking major MOJO. read more

I went to Thrive a number of times. They have some good teachers (for Santa Fe. That means they are pretty good. It's not LA, it's not NYC. Nor do we want/need it to be). I can only speak about the non-spin experience. I enjoyed Jen's Fusion class particularly. Details: 1. Small square room, thick padded gymnasium floor, one wall of mirror, very low lighting, zero windows. 2. Possibly the worst smelling place in New Mexico. The acrid smell of old sweat is quite something but after a while, you get used to it. Likely contribute, too. 3. Parking at popular times is challenging. Get there early or have fun dealing. 4. Biggest Problem: the Front Desk. Prepare for a small town iteration of Mean Girls. These pretties take poor customer service to a whole other level that would be comic if it wasn't so unacceptable. You've been warned! 5. The front desk experience is spoken about in hushed tones by almost eeeeeveryone. It's a small town so people perhaps don't feel safe confronting the ongoing rudeness? Jen's Fusion class was not enough to compensate for the Mean Girl front desk. I stopped going to Thrive and began taking classes elsewhere. I did communicate with the owner, perhaps he has initiated improvements? Happily there are a number of great places to get your work out on in Santa Fe, from YogaSource to Railyard Fitness to Board30. Have fun!! Remember to hydrate. read more

I have been going to Thrive since they opened in May 2015. It is a pristine and welcoming studio with a variety of cycling and yoga classes. The instructors are top notch and the cold forehead towels at the end of hot yoga are a nice bonus. They have bathrooms and showers complete with amenities. I find that for me cycling and yoga is the perfect balance to keep me in shape. The cycling studio is unique with the different lighting and makes it more fun! I will continue going to Thrive for as long as I'm in Santa Fe and highly recommend this studio. read more

I almost don't want to review Thrive because I don't want it to become *too* popular, but I also really like them and want them to do well. Basically, the best fitness option in Santa Fe. Cycling in a dark room is actually pretty fun with the addition of a disco ball, good tunes, and an enthusiastic instructor, who knew? I love the way hot yoga makes me feel, though I'll admit the ick factor is real when the dude behind you is dripping his head sweat on the back of your mat. The cool eucalyptus towel on your forehead at the end of class helps. The space is a little weird (I don't love the configuration, and locker rooms would be super) though they've done a great job with what they've got. Instructors range from competent to awesome. I like that they and the staff make an effort to know my name and are friendly. As others have said, the emphasis is on pushing yourself, but also doing you and listening to your body. There's plenty of woo-woo Santa Fe hippie bullshit available at Thrive, but one thing that distinguishes this studio from essentially every other yoga place in town is that it's opt-in and not shoved down your throat. The emphasis is on fitness, which is what I want. I go to Thrive 3-4 times per week and have never had a bad experience. I hope I didn't just jinx myself, because it's pretty great. read more

When I saw that Thrive was being built, I got really excited as I had been hoping for years that a new yoga studio in my neighborhood would open. That excitement has paid off as all levels of my health are now benefitting from a revived and thriving yoga practice that consists of 3-5 yoga classes per week. The teachers are wonderful, the space is sublime, I feel great, and I'm one happy camper to have finally found a yoga studio that I can call home! Read on if you want more details... There are many payment options which makes Thrive accessible to many. For example, the more classes you take, the lower the costs of the classes. For example, the 5 classes for $25 is a great way to start. If that is too much of a commitment, there are $5.00 community classes and regular drop-in classes as well. What I wasn't expecting was all the excellence that Thrive offers! I'm grateful for the caliber of competent and kind teachers, the green building materials the husband and wife owners consciously used, the natural bathing products they provide, the friendly, non-pretentious atmosphere, and the option of cycling before hot yoga. What is a dream-come-true for this former Bikram yogini is to practice the similar hot Hatha yoga flow of Bikram but with gentleness and flexibility of all the teachers who emphasize honoring and listening to the body, always supporting us to modify the postures if we need to. The optional cool washcloth placed on the forehead (while in the corpse pose at the end of each class offered at Thrive) is always a nice, nurturing touch reflecting just one of the unique attributes of Thrive. As for hot yoga, I hear a lot of people resist the idea of the heat aspect. I used to as well, but I got over that because the results are so incredible! The heat at Thrive is not as intense as other hot yoga studios, but is most effective. I feel buoyant, am stronger, my lung capacity has increased, I can focus on my projects, and I'm always in the state of gentle detoxing. Not once have I had a headache from the heat! Even if you think you don't like the heat aspect, you can find a class that is cooling off from the previous hot yoga class. I highly recommend Santa Fe Thrive and give it 5 Stars! read more

While on vacation recently, I needed to get my spinning in. So I booked a class. What a great studio! The bikes aren't as super high tech as some other studios (in other words: you can kinda cheat on your effort level if you want, which, to be honest, was a welcome break for me that weekend) but the instructor was superb and his music was energizing and upbeat. I also have to say: there's plenty of eye candy to be found here - of both sexes. Clearly, Thrive attracts the hotties. Always inspiring. That being said, there were all ages and body types present so it's also not at all intimidating. You don't have to be a hard body, but you can feel free to enjoy the view ;) Just saying! I'd definitely go back the next time I'm in Santa Fe! read more

Here's the thing having just moved from Chicago, business' here seem to lack in customer service as where in Chicago the competition is fierce so customer service needs to be on point so if you are not catering to your clients then you face the chance of a business opening up two doors down from you and knocking you out. Thrive Yoga has a pretentiousness about it that is completely unnecessary. It's a hot yoga and cycling studio...calm down. I know your space seems fancy but someone ugly can get all the plastic surgery they want and still be ugly, ya feel me. People take themselves very seriously here or maybe that's Santa Fe? read more

I've a pretty serious road biker and started going to Thrive last winter when it just got too cold to ride outside. The spin classes are good (and now they finally have a black light, a requirement (for some reason) for a spin room!) but I didn't really get the place until I started going to yoga about a month ago. Cycling is a great cardio exercise: intense, long, high heart rate, you can do intervals, etc. However, it is a fixed position, repetitive motion exercise that doesn't promote flexibility and, if you don't compensate, will create muscular imbalances, and it just doesn't engage some muscles at all. The yoga classes at Thrive are the perfect antidote! I was skeptical, but my body is slowly changing and I am getting flexibility where I never had it before. Kudos to Thrive for their energy, variety of classes and great teachers who are very welcoming to beginners. One mild critique: I started with yoga basics and yin yoga, but have just sort of been taking classes randomly since then. A little more structure and advice on how to proceed/progress would be helpful. Overall: Great place. read more

I found this gym on a recent trip to Santa Fe. I attended a spin class with Julia, who led a very inspiring class and was so kind as to even share her email addresss with so that I could get her playlist from the class. I attended a yoga class the following morning...also a great class! The owner of the gym checked me in each morning and was very warm and welcoming even providing me with a list of suggestions of good local restaurants. Was shooting a tv show here for several months. This place is the the only one in Santa Fe worth going to. I sort of stumbled in here on a whim bc it wasn't too far from the hotel. I was surprised and impressed by the quality of the classes. As good as any I've had in NY or LA that were at triple the price. My favorite instructor is Aviva. She does an awesome spin/yoga class. You can tell she's the favorite of the studio bc her classes are always full. Great workout. Also plenty of options for something a little more chill if that's how you "thrive". read more

In town for the Holiday and this was the first kettlebell class I have been to at RailYard Fitness. It was structured and very well planned for both kettlebell work and body weight work with plenty of rest for the next set. I play a lot of tennis but don't alway take the time to stretch, so I decided to try yoga. I found Thrive Yoga Studio to be extremely Upbeat & friendly. The website is easy to use and always updated. The yoga instructor was very attentive to newbies, which was so helpful for me. I also took an afternoon spin class. It was a challenge, but the awesome music and instructors positive energy got me through the class! I was already in love with this place because of the power/hot yoga and spin classes (some are individual classes, others combine the two). I feel that the quality of the teachers is very high, and they have a positive attitude. Not a place that feels competitive, and the owners nurture a sense of community. But the reason I love this place even more is their customer service and attention to detail. They have numerous showers/changing rooms (necessary after sweating everything out); these showers are beautiful and not gross--they are clean, pleasant, and have good quality products for shampoo/etc, and Mira and her staff are extremely friendly, responsive, and care about their customers. I am very happy to give this place my business for the quality of the teaching, environment, and customer service. I hope they continue to be successful. read more

I recently was told about this place by one of my friends and fellow students. She had followed Mira to this new studio. I was not necessarily into yoga and had never done cycling. I had done yoga before, but something didn't click-which after going to this place I realized it was the pretentious level of yoga-which is a shame because that's not what yoga is about. Cycling-just sounded weird. "Let's ride on a stationary bike!"- didn't get it. Then I went to Thrive... Cycling-is amazing. At thrive " you ride to the beat of the music." The tunes are fun whether indie, mainstream, hip-hop or something totally different-doesn't matter. I love that it really comes down to you and your bike. You follow the instructor but you are just paying attention to pushing yourself, the music, and staying in tuned to you. No one cares how much you are sweating because everyone else is sweating too and it's pretty dark. Yoga- this has been echoed throughout yelp and google reviews. You do what you do. Everyone gets that everyone else are at different levels whether you're cool standing on your head or supporting yourself with the wall-it's all good. This is where thrive excels-the people. MIra and her staff are unbelievable. The front staff want to learn your name. The instructors are amazing! Everyone has their own style. Smiling and pushing you at the same time is what you get. The instructors are also proud of each other as I have heard a few times that they can recommend all the instructors and that they can't say that about every studio they have worked at. I recently had to relocate out of Santa Fe and this is a part that I will sorely miss. I strongly recommend it to see if it's for you. It's an amazing stress reliever! The clientele are great and of different ages and different fitness levels. You hear about people being really into their gym and I always wanted that, and it happened here. It may not be your cup of tea, but spend the $5 and try it out. This will be a SF staple for sure! read more
