I first came to this clinic because of a Groupon deal for a Tuina massage. I've always carried all of my stress on my shoulders and back, so they're constantly tight and knotted. Jun understood where my discomfort was stemming from, which is where he focused massaging. The second time I came I decided to try the cupping + tuina deal. I had no prior cupping experience so I was a bit worried it would be scalding hot. However, Jun helped ease those worries by explaining the process. He proceeded with the massage first and then the cups. He made sure to ask me if it was too hot, which is nice to ask your patients, since everyone's heat tolerance is different. It was an overall cool experience and I felt pleasantly relaxed afterwards! It's also really cool seeing the cup marks on your back in the mirror. Apparently, the darker the marks means there's less circulation (more blood stagnation) in that area and the lighter the marks indicates better circulation. It's a very good experience. I get a Tuina massage today. The environment is very clean and quiet. When you go int to area, it's very relaxing. The massage therapist - Jun is very professional and did a very good job about massage. The part I like the most is he make my should and neck area super relaxed and feel a lot relief from the tide should and neck. He definitely know where the pressure point is and realize all my knots. I would never ever let the male accupunturist lay their hands on me. Nor do I think they should be practicing. I let them know when I made the appointment that it was for fertility treatment post embryo transfer. Then when I went in he had no clue and said that is not his speciality and genuinely laughed in my face. I was so shocked and hurt by his reaction. He said I was judging him because his practice was in a coffee shop... Yes a coffee shop!!! That was off putting and his set up was awkward and uncomfortable but I was willing to look past it. However when he started laughing at me when I asked if he knew about IVF I was done. He said it was rude for me to ask and just kept laughing in my face. I said please don't laugh at me that is not okay. And he continued. So I left. I let ththe women at the coffee shop seemed to be involved in the accupunture as they asked if they could help me and I just let them know the man was very rude and laughing in my face. Who laughs at a woman seeking fertility support and willing to pay for services. This guy is an asshole and I would be er ever suggest this place. This was a great first experience for acupressure. I have poor circulation, especially in my legs and Junhwa was very attentive to that. It was also nice being given an explanation for possible reasons for certain types of soreness i.e. neck/back, and I didn't even realize until then how much tension is in those areas until I got them treated! This would definitely be a good gift to give to almost anyone, such as family members with any circulation/back issues or people with sports-related soreness. I've been dealing with chronic ankle pain for years! I usually just ice it and pop ibuprofen. Unfortunately being active at the gym, going to amusement parks with kids, occasionally going to a bar (you need it after dealing with kids) etc.... I felt like it would never recover! So glad I found Santa Clara acupuncture. Don't be fooled that it's in the back of a boba shop, this guy knows what he's doing! The acupuncture treatment is about 5 min of needle placement and 40 min of rest under the heat lamp. There were tiny needles in my ankles, up my shins, right wrist and even my ear! How do these connect? I have no idea. But I must say after 2-3 days I feel like my ankle has recovered much faster than me trying by myself with ice and ibuprofen. Now I go back as needed if I over do it! Even better, you can buy a boba after if you want haha. Appointments are widely available too. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Junhwa Kim has magic hands. I have had 2 Tuina massages with him and both times not only does my back feel great but the rest of my body as well. I have chronic lower back pain due to a bulged disc pressing on my sciatic nerve. The way he does the massage completely hits all the right points that need release. I went to Santa Clara Acupuncture for Tuina massage and dry cupping. I have lingering pain on my right shoulder for months and wanted to see if I can get some relief from cupping. Dr. Kim was very attentive and took time to work on the areas. He checked to make sure I wasn't feeling pain from pressure or from cupping. My shoulder feels a lot better and the range of motion has improved. The massage was very relaxing and made me realized how stiff my neck was even though I wasn't feeling pain. A great fire cupping and massage experience! My work normally encompasses some heavy duty lifting that leads me to pretty much develop knots and tension and Dr. Kim was able to help relax and relieve much of my body which helps me get through the days.
